Wanted to record a quick video for those who are waiting for their Rytm. Just messing around with it... Bandcamp: dataline.bandcamp.com/ Facebook: / project.dataline Soundcloud: / dataline
ain't it so; free improv's can take you out there. Came back after years to find myself zooming in hi-res to play(try) the screen like a real unit. Man, I Love real buttons and knobs! Right?
A picture-in-picture of the LCD, like you did for that other video, was a great idea! I hope you'll do it for the next one. It makes your performance double as tutorial, despite not having narration. Please keep posting.
***** Oh screw you, it's a love for the gear and the sounds they make that you (regardless of whether or not YOU produce music) obviously don't understand, considering you just called him a "fanboy". Once again, screw you...urbanfitness?
Ryan Dunlap Seriously, why can't an established producer be a fanboy? :))))) I don't see a problem with it at all. Besides, Cuckoo is an Elektron fanboy, I am almost sure he will admit it himself. :)))))))) If an established producer is a fanboy, then all the more credit to the unit and the designers. And I'm sure Mr. Dataline had a part in it as well. :)
theeltea Of course he can be both. And sure, all of us electronic producers are nerds in some way or another. I just said it because typically you find people using the term "fanboy" in a derogatory context when someone goes a bit over-the-top in the process of gushing about something, and I didn't find his comment to be "going too far" in the least. The comment was in defense of the man, as I suppose yours is too, so we're all in agreement then! :)
Ok...this is pretty sick. Great demo of you "messing" around so skillfully :) This was a great showcase of the Rytm's abilities - another great video to sway my decision over to this piece of kit. I was originally looking at a Tempest, but I'm loving this more and more.
ironic how we love that subdued muffed kick after working so hard on a loud solid low tone on with a 4k click for real kit growing up. Don't ever let the imagination die ,,,,,
It has just the right amount of tactile sensations, buttons and knobs that I don't need a woman. Well, maybe that's going a bit far. But it is the best drum machine in at least 20 years.
I really like this and I wish there was somewhere I could listen to a released version or something. I was actually looking for drum machines to buy and I stumbled across this excellent demo. Good work.
Of course the AR sounds great. What do you expect? The cool thing about this jam is that it's totally different than what I expected from Dataline, and especially from a drum machine! Maybe that was his point? Regardless, there's no doubt that demos like this will sell more machines since people can now get their minds around the AR being more than just an analogue drum machine.
Ok dataline, Id bought mine already (arriving Thursday) but now Im super hyped for its arrival, I love the crazy stuff you can do with the start/end points, distortion, filters and FX with simple samples in terms of creating these cool atmospheres & textures. Far more than a drum machine, and sonic experimenters lab in a box. Most Likely my favourite elektron box ever.
Cenk, cok guzel! What a lovely machine, thanks for showing that it can do more than just emulate an xox! Swayed me from buying a tempest! Greetings from australia
I'm trying to stay satisfied with my Octatrack, on it's own, but your video is really swaying me towards the dark side. Beautiful stuff, and I loved watching the workflow. Now I want one :/
+MrDataline Are there going to be more machines? Like the Ring Mod Bass Drum that you guys demonstrated at one point? (not that the RYTM is lacking, it's amazing)
One question, though: does it always HAVE to be quantized? Wondering if I can get the lights blinking at the BPM (no sound/metronome, just visual), and create live unquantized drum loops? I normally play a Korg PadKontrol for reference, btw, so I have good timing and know my way around pads. Just seems like everything is always forced to be quantized.
I own Octatrack and AK , happy with these and I thought that I DO NOT need any gear, anymore, not now, not in the distant future. Until I saw this video. Crap.
It's 2020 and this machine still blows my mind
Three years old and still the best demo for this unit...respect
6 years :)
3 years old and still the best comment on the best demo for this unit...respect indeed.
Wow... yeah... 8 years nearly now... impressive.

TIP: The machine is not the song. Good work Mr Dataline!
This isn't just a drum machine. It's a box that cracks open a hole in the universe.

This was a whole new experience of hearing music! Thank you for uploading!!
This is demo is f**cking incredible. Hats off to you
I've only watched 40 seconds and I'm already in love (again) :)

I was looking forward to hearing the scene you created!
MrDataline makes deciding which gear to get much more difficult:) Such a great track!!

Very nice improvisation, sounds great!

Nice demo man. You made a kick ass track in 10 minutes. I got inspired by this. And WOW! That kick drum is SOOOOOOO perfect
Would love one!
You're so lucky working for the company who's instruments you make shine!
that kick right there is what sold me on this machine.
I really like this and I wish there was somewhere I could listen to a released version or something. I was actually looking for drum machines to buy and I stumbled across this excellent demo. Good work.
One of the best uses of the AR I've seen/heard here on TH-cam :)
I really like this - noisy and textured - i hear too many straight techno tracks on this machine, but this is a whole different vibe. Nice work.
Merry Xmas to me!! Adding this to my other Elektron luvs.....
Very dark sounding! I love that sweeping bass, my speakers can barely handle it!
OK now i want one !
nice demo, great sound design
Best demo yet!

Real Ambient with a drum system. Thx Cenk

Wow. The power of analog, simply amazing.

Really good.
Cant wait till Friday... my AR arrives to complete the Dark Trinity! Lets hope I can put it to good use ;)

Cenk, cok guzel! What a lovely machine, thanks for showing that it can do more than just emulate an xox! Swayed me from buying a tempest! Greetings from australia

Sounds sick ... In a good way
Sick BD!
Good job mate!

Excellent jam Dataline! U need a hpf on that bass though, my sub is BOOMing from that kick!
so good
brilliant.
Very nice! Cenk is a wizard but this shows me you can do more than techno with a drum machine. My GAS is getting more difficult now lol
One question, though: does it always HAVE to be quantized?

I own Octatrack and AK , happy with these and I thought that I DO NOT need any gear, anymore, not now, not in the distant future. Until I saw this video. Crap.
