Tranzit is so bad I actually like it. The adrenaline rush of missing the bus, and hopelessness that you feel from being abandoned is exactly how a zombies apocalypse should make you feel
I desperately hope that Tranzit gets some form of reimagining, taking concepts like the bus and atmosphere and making it something on the level of Shadows of Evil. It absolutely has that potential
the "hopelessness that you feel from being abandoned is exactly how a zombies apocalypse should make you feel" LMFAO, I'm so glad that was my first ever zombies map then
I’ve had dreams inspired by transit, everywhere you looked was orange with heavy fog, no shelter anywhere except this decrepit old 1950s car/bus thing you had to throw together with anything you could find laying around, had about a minute to put it together and even then it moved so slow. couldn’t see 10 feet in front of me, ruined old gas stations and wooden buildings and barns out in the middle of a forested area, zombies without glowing eyes that’s didn’t scream and ran fast, it was so fucking horrifying and epic.
Yeah I really liked it a long time ago I still like it but I think there are to many flaws with it (my second map was either town or kino maybe even veruckt)
@Versatile Wolf the map design is awful, and there is just fog and lava everywhere which is annoying it would of performed better as a next gen map, being memorable doesn't make it good.
Great list. I’m one of those players that had a lot of fun with Die Rise. It’s a very unique map because of the wonder weapon, atmosphere, and how the map flows. I also like the mini-perk challenges that are included.
Best part of Mob of the Dead is how accurate it is to Alcatraz irl. I went there a few summers ago and I was basically touring my family around the prison.
Yeah I feel like tranzit is a very good map and shangri la is a very bad one. I mean people still play tranzit and people dont play shangri la for a reason
I feel old when all the comments talking about transit and the like being their “memory” map when I have nothing but loving memories of getting out of school and immediately getting on 360 to try and hit round 30 on Der Riese. The fun of camping the catwalk, one on stairs, one on window, and a sniper or two out the side windows was the most fun I had playing zombies. I remember feeling so OP with the three weapon glitch where you would trade a perk bottle or a bouncing Betty for a box weapon. God I miss WAW. Plus, I am still convinced Beauty of Annihilation is still the best music Easter egg in zombies. The hype of popping that shit on round 29 to motivate us to hit 30 was unreal.
logan wheat you hit this right on the head man, had some good times with some of the later maps but nothing even compares to the WAW maps when they first came out
logan wheat i’m 36, i feel you man, that’s what zombies was, at it’s best. 10 mins to get set up, and you could blast as long as you pleased. No “hold a zombie dude i’m trying to EE” you could even manage getting your perks back mid round. Jugg... put down 2 bouncing betties on your way in, and if you were fast you could run back, activate electric trap and casually feel good about that sprint to resume madness 10 secs later. 😅
I remember loading up W@W zombies for the first time when i was like 10/11, and the intro where the zombie runs towards you use to terrify the fuck out of me lmao
I loved WaW Verruckt. The insane challenge, creep factor, and environmental detail was great. Personally I prefer the simplicity of Verruckt, Der Reise, Moon, Buried, and Ascension (my top 5)over the absurd checklist of stuff to do which came with BO2 and which has increased with each game since. Those checklists increasingly require the player to resort to a guide in order to figure out how to access pack-a-punch and wonder weapons. Not. Fun.
I agree man all the older maps were great. Bo3 and bo4 never really did anything for me. Played it a few times with some friends who loved it but I never got into it
That feeling when you launched a multiplayer game of Verruckt for the first time and discovered that you started separated into 2 groups by a door that needed power, that you needed to find. Oof, that desperation was REAL!
Conor Carver bo2 didnt have any good maps. The best map was either tranzit or origins which origins was overraed and tranzit was not that great either. Mob, Buried, and Die Rise were imo the worst maps of all time
I actually love Revelations and as u said it really grew on me, it has become a map for me to hop on too when I feel like getting to quite a high round without having to stress too hard. Its just laid back Zombies with a nostalgia feel
Anthony Hahn multiplayer was the only fun thing pretty much :/ but zombies really did suck in bo4. i remember being pretty disappointed after a few weeks of playing realizing how shitty it became
I liked bo4 but its so forgetful. I completed forgot about the chaos story because it didn't feel that important because treyarch themselves didn't make it important
i miss good the good ole days of zombies where zombies was actually zombies and not inter-dimensional teleporting phasing in and out of reality undead bitches edit: it's been 6 months now and I still don't like zombies but I have hope for the new cod and its zombie mode
Tranzit couldve been so much of a better map with the technology today, but i had some of my best gaming memories on Tranzit. If you were playing with a decided team that knew what they were doing all actively working towards building the pack a punch, easter eggs, it was fun asf because of how stupidly challenging it was. There are way better maps by design and features but the nostalgia of tranzit is still in my heart
Love bo2 but can't stand here and say bo2 zombies was better than bo3 zombies, the gobble gums, wonder weapons Easter eggs and the storyline 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 just perfection
@@mbvjg4217 why would you hate transzit it has all of the maps in it so you don't get bored and you make portals with denazins the boss and so many other things and the easter egg

God Bless! And also, He doesn't want you to go to Hell, but He wants you to go to Heaven with Him but you have to be Saved. How do I get Saved you might ask? Here are the steps below on how to get Saved! 1. Confess to Jesus that you are a sinner and ask forgiveness for your sins and Turn away from your sins. If you sin again after asking forgiveness of that sin, ask forgiveness again and try not to do it ever again. Jesus will forgive you! 2. Believe that God sent His Son (Jesus) to die on a cross for your sins and that He rose again from the dead 3 days later. 3. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and your life and for Him to be your Lord and Savior forever. 4. Build a Personal Relationship with Jesus by Praying and Reading the Bible daily and Live for Him Forever. I'm Praying for you and you are loved! (Romans 10:9-13
Overall a pretty good list. I get that it's all subjective but the only one I really disagree with is Die Rise. I think there was just so much to do on that map. It was well-balanced and had some amazing atmosphere and mechanics. Definitely took some getting used to, but this was the only map I've ever gotten past round 90 on back in the day and the reason was the design and the Sliquifier. Personally for me - after BO2, all the zombie maps and mechanics felt a little too arcade-y. They're cool game modes in their own right, but at a certain point it's hard to call it zombies anymore when the graphics look like something out of Overwatch.
CoD Zombies is literally meant to be an Arcade Shooter. Victis Maps play like campaigns. They’re garbage. I hate all of the Victis maps they’re just not fun to play in any way imo.
it''s definitely way better than tranzit, because at least I have a better chance to pack a punch and the siliqufier is one of the best wonder weapons in black ops 2
Honestly, I think that the Apocalyptic vibe of Tranzit and Die Rise (and a little with Buried) are pretty neat. The world has become a volcanic zombie infested wasteland. It just is interesting to think about how some humans are still trying to survive in such an incredibly hostile place. While Tranzit is too dusty to see anything, you can look off the skybox in Die Rise and see pieces of Earth floating in the distance and it just gives me the chills thinking of how much destruction the planet earth (and in extension the human race) had gone through in the Ultamis and Victis storyline.
I remember talking with a random on Town and they said that Tranzit and Die Rise are the closest things Zombies has to how the average person in the Zombies universe to a zombie apocalypse. Most of the other maps have more contained outbreaks, these two are global and are more like how a zombie apocalypse would play out in this world.
Chamberlain Allman I agree with him. Take IX from Bo4, get rid of all the underground temple shit and just make it to where you try to survive for as long as you can.
Chamberlain Allman lol I’m not saying I don’t enjoy the Easter eggs, but that I want more simple maps that I can just hop on with friends and play without having to unlock a ton of areas and activate pack a punch and all that
Natch der Untoten, despite the fact that it didn’t have perks at first, it’s still my personal favorite map. It was a fun start to the COD Zombies series, and its gothic atmosphere is mesmerizing. It is just a bunker, but that bunker has character.
imo i think he was a bit too harsh on that. A lot of maps went to the middle of the list just because they had good potential but poorly executed, but he even said it himself good the idea of the map was. I think there should have just been a bit more credit given to the fact that it was like 4 maps in 1.
Honestly, it’s still my favorite map, wether it be because of the memories or the fact it’s still fun to mess around and find out how far you can go with the python or whatever your favorite weapon may be
Der Reise is still my favourite all these years later, it's probably mostly nostalgia but I miss the simplicity of zombies maps. It started in Black Ops II with all the collectibles, buildables and tasks you had to do, I didn't wanna do any of that, I just wanna get some decent perks, pack-a-punch a few weapons and shoot zombies. As long as a map has a good training spot for solo play and a good camping spot for playing with friends, I'm happy.
PJ Harwood I feel like a cod game should have maps with both simplicity and complexity, but they must also master atmosphere, kino, origins, nacht, and der rise drachma mastered atmosphere as well as mob of the dead, they gotta introduce maps like that, with diversity, fun, and differences, while keeping the core values, and PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OFF GOD, KEEP THE CORE PERKS, zombies isn't zombies without jug, quick rev, double tap etc.
Who's Who is amazing and here's why 1: You can buy ANYTHING and get refunded when you get revived 2: You can do a bank glitch and infinite points 3: You get auto revived whether or not you have Quick Revive so you can just train the zombies till you get up
Out of pure nostalgia, nothing will ever top Der Riese/The Giant for me. The OG next level zombies map. I remember when WaW came out and we grinded Nacht, Vurruckt, and Shi No Numa for hours on end thinking it was the coolest thing ever. Then Der Riese came out and we were absolutely blown away.
Honestly what Tim said about shadows of evil that causes people to turn away from it and not like it, being that it was different and other worldly, is the exact reason why I like it, it was so much different then the other maps and that’s why I loved it so much.
Certain maps do fill the ammo in the clip without having to reload before grabbing max however I wasn’t paying attention to which games he was doing this on
one thing i love about cod zombies is that they always have THAT ONE MAP that has a completely different atmosphere and theme which separates itself from the other maps, for example: Bo1 had Call of the Dead Bo2 had Mob of the Dead Bo3 had Shadows of Evil these were all either colorful or had a change of tone that made zombies feel a different but a good different.
@@vyperx1959 ok? this isn't a debate about which was better (its obviously Der Eisendrache), its pointing out that each of the 3 BO games has a map that features a unique cast in a setting with an atmosphere different from the other maps in the game.
I feel like origins changed the mood more than mob of the dead I mean the snowy climate, the ancient mood, the fact that you're getting mythical staffs to get through the gateway of agartha, the wonder fixx machine, the giant robots you need to get cautious of, the back story of the undead monsters attacking you during the events of world war 1 I mean motd does really change the mood but origins feels like an overall game changing map that somehow revolutionized the entire b02 And it has the first easter egg cutscene so
@@Thatguy-qk1li MOTD came first tho. It was Blundell’s first attempt to show what he had planned for zombies in the future (quest type gameplay, buildables, game ending ee) and origins was the next step from mob, as it was a bigger scale and was a soft reboot of our og 4 characters. If anything I’d argue that shadows of evil is the most balanced, complete map that treyarch released as it includes sm that made both mob and origins great
@@Thatguy-qk1li Idk, I personally feel like MOTD feelt a lot different than Origins. I mean, yeah Origins felt more mystical and magical in a way, but MOTD felt more paranormal and scary, almost like a somehow horror game (not saying it is scary in itself, but the tone it sets feels like that)
I would like to point out that the design of Mob of the Dead is almost exactly the design of the real Alcatraz prison. When I visited the prison, I immediately noticed how it was nearly the same as the map. Treyarch truly did an excellent job.
I’m gonna keep it a stack, I loved Alpha Omega. It was one of the first big-time Easter eggs I did, and I completed it alongside IX when I was around 14 or 15 years old. Good times
@@thefluzzer6345 bo4 has some good maps, like IX, Dead of the Night, Ancient Evil. People just don't like them because they can't be bothered to invest time and learn how to play the maps.
i remember being like 5 and playing zombies with my brother that was like eight. we both couldn't play by ourselves but we were pretty decent for our age i think and we played bo2 tranzit because it was the only COD that wouldn't crash to an unreadable disk because all the others were scratched up. The map sucked ass but the nostalgia makes me go back to it every once in a while
Fun fact, if you’ve never played any or the majority of the maps thrown into revelations, it’s actually a really really cool experience to look at and play as a stand alone map
I feel a remaster would be fine if they changed the dull coloring of the map, didn’t make the fog so thick and brown colored, reduced the effects of lava and in some of the places it was, and if they decreased the amount of dedizens that jump on your back while running through a foggy area
TheBlackGuyGaming exactly tbh they have every reason to in the next cod game due to the advanced consoles and next gen they can actually explore the areas the fog HAD TO cover
reflecting on this video I’m grateful to have grown up playing these just the experience and anxiety and the bone chilling train of zombies... it’s honestly a blessing
Remaster idea for tranzit: Remove denizens, keep lava and fog just mellowed down so it ads to the vibes but doesn’t annoy the hell out of you. Better wonder weapons, less windows on bus but every 15 rounds bus breaks down and you need to get a part to get it running so it’s usable but not op. Remove having to run around the whole map to do pack and stuff.
Best game of zombies I ever played was on Nuketown. Solo game, juggernog did not drop til round 19. I did not get a down until round 28, and I made it to round 44. My best friend watched me play til 3 am, and we had made homemade chilli that night. Pausing the game, eating that delicious chilli, and hanging out with my friend.
I absolutely love Transit. I spent so many hours on this map and had so many memories. But I was always aware that most people, even those who played it, didn't exactly "love" this map. Still, I'm sad to see this map all the way in the back of this list. That being said, Der Eisendrache is probably my favorite map!
I love trazit only ppl dat don't lik it bc there lazy ppl always talking about they want a challenge and bigger mad n more to do they got it n now dey hate it
I absolutely positively agree with your opinion der eisendrache is my favorite too, followed by buried, mob, and transit, transit gets so much unnecessary shit from other people
Transit is one of my favorite maps. The fog and denizens are definitely a negative, but the bus is such a cool idea, and I wish it would have been implemented in a better way.
Am I old? Everyone in the comments is nostalgic from BO2. I always thought the WAW and BO maps were just so much fun and brings back good memories. Maybe simplicity in zombies is more my speed or I'm just growing it out of zombies. Five is also the most underrated map.
Bops 1 classic zombie maps and kino are the only ones i want to play. Some times bops 3 classics including kino but i hate that i cant make a crawler without getting attacked by more zombies for doing so.
Kino is amazing with friends. And sooooo soooooo sooooooo soooooooooooooo godamn boring on solo I legit just give up after i have fully set up because everything moves so slowly.
zombie youtubers: "what made zombies so great was not the tedious fetch quests that made you run across the map" also zombies youtubers: *ranks every black ops 3 map higher than most black ops 1, black ops 2 and world at war*
It all comes down to the player TBH. Some like old school easy set up with difficult high rounds while others like tedious early set ups w. less difficult high rounds. BO3 and BO1 are the two best games.
Verruckt and kino are the most nostalgic for me. Verruckt because it was the first map to actually freak me out and at the time was a good upgrade from the OG , and kino because In highschool my friend would throw huge parties at his house that mainly took place in his huge studio out back but in his room we would have a zombies tournament, 8 teams of 2 and each team would put 20 bucks in, he had two TVs and we had an Xbox and PlayStation. So two teams would go up against each other to see who could get to the highest round with each person getting 3 lives, but the final 2 teams each person gets one life, the teams waiting would just go out to the party with one guy staying in so nobody cheats, me and my friend won every tournament and I think it's because during the tournament we will just smoke while everyone else was wasted lmao, good times. But my favorite map is call of the Dead
@@00wynters @ Mob is amazing. 1. Three different ways to go. 2. Amazing design. 3. Great wall guns 4. Cool story 5. Difficult but not impossible. 6. Finally people say the map is boring yet the majority of people like kino😑. If u don't like it fine but don't act like people like it for no reason.
It’s more scary than creepy to me. Zetzubou is the creepy map. They went for scary and missed but still captured an amazing atmosphere. Verrückt is a map that kept me up at night as a kid

It absolutely has that potential
the "hopelessness that you feel from being abandoned is exactly how a zombies apocalypse should make you feel"
LMFAO, I'm so glad that was my first ever zombies map then
I’ve had dreams inspired by transit, everywhere you looked was orange with heavy fog, no shelter anywhere except this decrepit old 1950s car/bus thing you had to throw together with anything you could find laying around, had about a minute to put it together and even then it moved so slow. couldn’t see 10 feet in front of me, ruined old gas stations and wooden buildings and barns out in the middle of a forested area, zombies without glowing eyes that’s didn’t scream and ran fast, it was so fucking horrifying and epic.

1. Confess to Jesus that you are a sinner and ask forgiveness for your sins and Turn away from your sins. If you sin again after asking forgiveness of that sin, ask forgiveness again and try not to do it ever again. Jesus will forgive you!
2. Believe that God sent His Son

While Tranzit is too dusty to see anything, you can look off the skybox in Die Rise and see pieces of Earth floating in the distance and it just gives me the chills thinking of how much destruction the planet earth (and in extension the human race) had gone through in the Ultamis and Victis storyline.

PJ Harwood I can agree with you. See reise is not my favourite but it’s up there for sure. Amazing map
i bet you played der riese a lot
PJ Harwood I feel like a cod game should have maps with both simplicity and complexity, but they must also master atmosphere, kino, origins, nacht, and der rise drachma mastered atmosphere as well as mob of the dead, they gotta introduce maps like that, with diversity, fun, and differences, while keeping the core values, and PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OFF GOD, KEEP THE CORE PERKS, zombies isn't zombies without jug, quick rev, double tap etc.

Bo3 origins is better

I mean the snowy climate, the ancient mood, the fact that you're getting mythical staffs to get through the gateway of agartha, the wonder fixx machine, the giant robots you need to get cautious of, the back story of the undead monsters attacking you during the events of world war 1
I mean motd does really change the mood but origins feels like an overall game changing map that somehow revolutionized the entire b02
And it has the first easter egg cutscene so
@@Thatguy-qk1li MOTD came first tho. It was Blundell’s first attempt to show what he had planned for zombies in the future (quest type gameplay, buildables, game ending ee) and origins was the next step from mob, as it was a bigger scale and was a soft reboot of our og 4 characters. If anything I’d argue that shadows of evil is the most balanced, complete map that treyarch released as it includes sm that made both mob and origins great
@@Thatguy-qk1li
Idk, I personally feel like MOTD feelt a lot different than Origins.

@@tweedycheetah2083 ix is very fun
I absolutely love Town. It’s nowhere near the top and although it’s so simple, but I loved playing it and vibing w my homies and having a good time
That's how I feel about farm. So simple but fun especially camping upstairs with the box
Also Richtofen screaming in your ear is real fun.
*Especially* if you have no context.
"Der Riese doesn't have a single flaw"
*Remembers the Juggernog glitch*
My buddy got to round 99 sitting in an elevator glitch
That glitch is gone in BO1, so that's the "perfect" version. Bo3 was pretty fun too with the OP features
Uh kinda?
Der Riese was always my favorite, but the lack of any prominent Easter eggs does kinda suck
Jackson Meyer
Well the name of the whole upgraded Wunderwaffe
is the Wunderwaffe DG2 JZ (Juggernog Zapper)
;)
Best game of zombies I ever played was on Nuketown. Solo game, juggernog did not drop til round 19. I did not get a down until round 28, and I made it to round 44. My best friend watched me play til 3 am, and we had made homemade chilli that night. Pausing the game, eating that delicious chilli, and hanging out with my friend.
I just sat here and watched this for an hour and enjoyed every nostalgic moment of it
Trust me, haven't felt nostalgia like this in ages. Took me back this video

BO1 is my fav console game of all time.
Five, Kino Der Toten, and the Black Ops Arcade are awesome
Bops 1 classic zombie maps and kino are the only ones i want to play. Some times bops 3 classics including kino but i hate that i cant make a crawler without getting attacked by more zombies for doing so.
i woildnt say its underrated more as of just hated or neglected due to the extreme difficulty of the map
Me and the homies been playing bo1 on our 360s recently cuz the quarantine. Shits amazing brings back such good times.
Kino is that one older brother that your parents always say "why cant you be more like him"
Kino is amazing with friends. And sooooo soooooo sooooooo soooooooooooooo godamn boring on solo I legit just give up after i have fully set up because everything moves so slowly.
I think kino is garbage

Bo3 zombies was just amazing
@@wassupfacker4917 really? I only liked 2 maps
@@andrewzimmern8700 yes imo they are great not al but most maps i play so much
It all comes down to the player TBH.
Tim Mob of the Dead - “I know some people find this map overrated”

verrukt is my favorite map, perfect mix of creepy and challenging. adds to the reward of getting high rounds especially with other players
Same Verrückt and Five are my favorites
It’s more scary than creepy to me. Zetzubou is the creepy map. They went for scary and missed but still captured an amazing atmosphere. Verrückt is a map that kept me up at night as a kid
