Like you, I got mine in 2020 at 28, when I heard 60k at the release I had my order in right after. I'm currently at about 55,000 miles and I drive it rain, snow or sunshine. It doesn't matter if its on and offroad, it has never left me stranded and has gotten to places that people would never believe. (thank god for the full undertray) The only issue I have had was the front hood latch recall, but where others were popping open, mine refused to open unless I pulled the manual handle. You hit the nail on the head with regards to servicing. The corvette tax is real, but you can skirt around it. I got to know the corvette tech who was the only one allowed to service my car at the dealership. He has opened his own shop on the side, so I get my service through him without an excessive markup. The C8 has honestly been a saving grace for me mentally, I was in some dark places and the car got me out of the house and out into the backroads to explore and start to enjoy life again. I've driven the car from the highest point in VT to all the way down to Road Atlanta to see the Motul Petit Le Mans. I absolutely blasted through the blue ridge parkway and tail of the dragon along the way. I'll remember that trip for as long as I live. My goal is to drive the car across the country and someday reach 1 million miles with it. For day to day practicality I honestly never had a problem with storage. It fits a full size costco cart of groceries or 6 bundles of firewood. If you are a duffle bag guy its perfect. Wouldn't want to trade mine for anything currently on the market. Are there better cars? Sure. But this one is mine and I am absolutely smitten. May your roads be smooth, the traffic light and the shiny side of the car the right side up.
@j.a.g.8689 Its really capable, it depends on what you are looking to do. I got it with the Z51 package so the mag ride works wonders at absorbing bumps and with a push of a button you'll feel every single crack. It really doesn't put a foot wrong. You can floor it from a dig and not have to touch the steering wheel and it'll pull straight and true. It handles elevation changes like a beast and with stock ride height you can get some serious articulation out of it. Tight corkscrew turns are a breeze. In terms of breaking I think it needs a pad change from the stock. I have some hawk performace hps on there that have no issues bringing the car to a stop.
Damn it’s been 4 years? That’s gotta be the longest you’ve owned a vehicle, usually you either wreck or get bored of whatever car/truck you have within 2 years
I've owned a C4, C5, C7 and now a C8...I loved each one. They've all gotten better and better over the generations. Now, the C8 Stingray, ZO6, ERay, ZR1, Zora in my opinion is the culmination and evolution thus far of the best performing Vette's Chevy has produced.
I Love your video Dan and a big shout out from Australia. I owned several generations of Aussie Holden GM performance cars over the last 15 years including a VL Turbo Commodore and two HSVs. My previous car was the last HSV GTS (a sad day in Australia when Holden closed down) which came with a 430KW 6.2L supercharged LSA straight from the factory and did 0-100 Kmh in around 4.2 secs which was super quick for a factory muscle car back in 2015 (0 - 60 mph in around 4 sec). I even owned a Mark iv Toyota Supra with the 6 speed manual factory twin turbo (2JZ GTE motor). Sadly, after 9 years of owning my HSV GTS and no Aussie options left I finally went 100% American and purchased a 3LT C8 corvette around 4 months back now. This is a limited run Carbon Launch edition to mark the year it launched in Australia. Below are ten reasons I can think of why I love this car. 1) I totally love the look but agree new wheels are in order (for those who haven't seen one on the streets, they look way better in the real world than the pics give them credit for) 2. Love the attention this thing gets everywhere I go (In Australia it gets supercar level attention given there are not that many around but you almost pay supercar money due to luxury taxes etc). 3) It kind of reminds me of my Mark iv Supra with the whole cabin revolves around the driver thing. 4) I don't have to pay Supercar money for parts and repairs. 5) Absolutely love the interior (GM really nailed it this time there is quality and carbon fibre everywhere). 6) The way it pops and crackles during gear changes with your window down is just priceless. 7) It can settle arguments with Model 3 Performance Tesla's (ok maybe not the latest one damn it). 8) Front end lifter gets a reaction from pedestrians at crosswalks every time. 9) The 8 speed DCT is just phenomenal (I was a little antsy about having an auto initially until I experienced the paddle shift experience in this thing). 10) You can see the motor through a glass panel (I mean what's not cool about that!).
First time viewer to your channel. In the market for a C8 and found this to be a super honest, fairly comprehensive take on the car as a whole. I've owned a C5 and a C6 ZO6, a Viper, a Cobra (FFR), a Camaro SS1LE (supercharged) and several other performance cars, and it's taken me to this point to kinda fall in love with the C8. Not as a performance car, as such, but as what appears to be one of the best "all around street performance" cars out there. Thanks.
Your videos seem to have improved quite a bit lately, from a production quality standpoint. It definitely feels like you are taking the time to really plan and organize your videos. They may not be "entertaining" per say, but it's very enjoyable to watch and listen to you chat with us. You've really come a long way from just GoPro motovlog clips from back in the day. Keep it up!
Brother, I've been following you for years. You talked me out of a GTR with a ZL1 1LE. You convinced me to get my C8. Ive got a '22 2LT Z51. No MSRP markup and bought brand new, shoutout for the allocation to WEST ALCOA CHEVROLET, TN!!! I 100% agree with you on EVERYTHING you've said about the C8. And much like you, I still want the Z06. I WILL try and lock in an allocation next year. #staytuned Great video. Keep making great content brother!
Dan your car is straight outta GTA V😂😂 Edit: from a measurement standpoint, the c8 in ALL its forms is a super car. In my mind, it’s far more comparable to a V8 Vantage, Huracan, or 488, than a Demon or a GT 500
It's nice occasionally tuning into your videos, I remember when you got the C7 and did sharpie decals on your bike I’m 21 now, it's crazy to think that was nearly 10 years ago appreciate the entertainment through all these years
Really love entire theme you have going on with this thing. It looks fantastic from every angle! I agree, of all the semi decent cars I've owned like an old McLaren, Supercharged Viper, C8....Its hard to beat the comfort, reliability, usability, and exotic looks of the C8. I too want a Z06 next once they come down to reality pricing lol.
Had a 2017 raptor at 19 with two jobs, sold it for a 22, then 24. Lucky to had have equity move over and get good interest rates. Pushing it to its limits is the best part. Plus I love looking at it
I enjoy mine. It rides good. Quick. But I don’t think it’s fast. Track is ok, but I wish the front bit better. I get more positive response than I did from my recent Miata. It’s much bigger and heavier. I could drive this for 10 hours straight it’s so comfortable. I’ve driven mine in all weather, on paved and gravel. Yesterday I drove up a dam spillway yesterday and laughed at how ridiculous that was. I’ve gotten over 30 mpg. I’ve driven lots of cars on many tracks around the world and I feel like the BMW M cars would eat this on COTA Thermal or similar. but it was my budget fun car purchase after my kid graduated college. I had thought about waiting for an Emira, but the prices rise. I could not get a Z cheaply from my Nissan engineer son. But I’ve driven those on track and like them. I feel like I’ve had my moment with this car and likely will go back to dailying my 2006 Highlander. Overall, this car is OK. It’s great bang for the buck. I’ve had the privilege of driving on tracks around the world in Ferrari, Lamborghinis, and like. Even though I’ve driven $550,000 cars I think the sweet spot for me is the Lamborghini Huracan spider RWD. Not too dissimilar similar from the Corvette. I wish Chevy would eat into the trunk space and do a V 10. There’s just something about that V 10 that I love so much. But I’m not spending 2 to 4 times this money. I’m not a rich man. I’ll just keep driving other peoples Lamborghinis and Ferrari’s fast when I get the opportunity and not park one in my garage.
I live close to miami and tbh we see C8s everywhere. Howver theres a few "modded" ones that stand out and me and my dad always think its cool for people to add their unique taste to them and spice things up
In my area mid coast Maine there are a few c8s bombing around and when people see em they get the wow supercar reaction because well they have an exotic look, that wrap you have would make a monk meditating open an eye n look it's pretty wild looking with its race car look. But in my area as far as grabbing attention newer cars don't really kill it, I have a 95 sn95 mustang gt vert with a white top with an OG 5.0 and the Lazer reds clear is jacked on upper edge the driver's side (for few years was left un moved in 1 place so sun smoked that area) with chrome 18" " 95 cobra R" style wheels and 265/35 tires and an obnoxiously loud but not slappy just beautiful sounding exhaust, original with empty cats and no mufflers and people rubber neck and check it out all the time, I get people at gas pumps ask about it it is really an attention grabber, I Also get the same thing with my 92 c1500, it's kinda ratty 295s all around on old tierd chrome 15x10 steel wheels, it has nice enthusiastic little 350 with dual 3" exhaust and a nice big lumpy cam and it get Uber attention. At the same time there are camaros and challengers, chargers big dollar Duramax's n power strokes and you know what noooooobody cares about them nobody looks at em or gives them a first look, they are like fleas there everywhere nothing special just late model everywhereness. My vehicals get tons of positive attention and my old lady's kia soul cost more than both. I can say mustang guys are a click of there own that's for sure anytime I see a mustang gt of any era the sight of my gt makes them instantly competitive, I get exhaust blasts or they try n race me all the time! Obviously I'm not going to race an old cobra or a coyote with my mostly stock 5.0HO it's not fast at all, it's zippy and with a 5 speed it's fun to drive but with 260 gross hp no a road burner, net HP is so bad no one wants to mention it and rear wheel is just flat out embarrassing but it has V8 Tq that give the impression of some amount of power, my old hotrod 2wd SBC Cheyenne is easily faster but who cares how much fun is what's important, I can never best the Marianas trench deep wallets out there so why bother it's a loosing battle, besides when your junk is stealing attention from em that's a win.
Definitely needed this video today to boost my mood thank you Dan that is a beautiful car even though I wasn’t the biggest fan of the cars shape originally
Got the one I ordered a few months ago. Love the car, just trying to figure out at what point I want to start modifying mine. Have to make sure I'm not one with transmission issues before hand

Dude, love your attitude! May your million miles bring you a million smiles! ✌️
Did you get yours for 60k? That’s crazy good, I’m in the market for a used one right now and can’t even find one for under 65!
@mueezmah great question. Even better, How was the entire car buying process.
I have a question hopefully you reply, How does the chassis feel? How does it perform?
@j.a.g.8689 Its really capable, it depends on what you are looking to do. Funny how you have a sponsor about a quitting smoking product and your car looks like a pack of cigarettes 😂
Ironic AF 😂

Channeling the Marlboro livery.

The Mopar tax hurts, especially doing truck stuff. I've spent far too much money on every single mod I've done.
Super sweet rolling pack of mislabeled Marlboro cigarettes 😂 I dig it!

Your C8 is so beautiful 🔥
Hey what's up Dan! I am getting a C8 myself, where'd you get the rear mods for your car??
I had to check the title when i heard "thiss" 😂
Do you track (HPDE) your high performance C8? any thoughts to share? faster laptimes than other vettes?
Free mustache rides from Dan

I’m in Ga as well. Which dealer is doing your oil changes?
Where can I get on of those steering wheels?
I like flavored air that has a hint of nicotine in it. 😅
Get a supercharger or a pro-charger for your C8. Your car looks sick.
2020 c8 how much for a transmission fluid change
My only issue with my c8 is they kept coming out with better/ faster versions that looked exactly like the one I have.
what wheels are those? I want them in chrome
This car looks fantastic 100 %
Send this to boost district for either a supercharger or his custom 800 1000 or 1200 HP twin turbo kit
The new ZR1 is what it should have looked like
Shit man, $120 for an oil change at a dealer isn't even that bad. My 2.0L civic costs me $70 at the local oil change spot.
Right?!
@@DOITWITHDAN At my chevy dealer here in Cali we are charging over $200 for an oil change on a C8.

What do you mean no storage? Front and rear trunks
Which C7 Carbon spoiler is that? I am looking for a big spoiler for my HTC.
It's the Legacy chassis mount wing. Makes 750 pounds of down force

I've uploaded a few videos recently
You can get a better deal on a new C8 on the lot rather than a used C8 currently.
What about the ZR1 instead of the Z06?
I gotta know…. Do you tell all your neighbors you’re filming? Because if not where the hell is everyone? It’s like the beginning of the walking dead.
I'm usually filming in the middle of the day when most are at work, so it's rarely busy during the week.
Take it to Cicio and get twin turbos!
That was such a dirt boi. Thanks for cleaning it up I feel better now

What’s the name of your rims and sizes ?
