To be fair. It wasn't just a little rollover that took that back wheel off. It was a tumble wumble at 65 mph.
Yeesss
You should experiment with some point of view cameras, so we can be the passenger
Ya true
Yeah fair play Kev - to run double voltage and not strip any gears means its durable i reckon
Considering no manufacturer uses 1/9th scale, this is far closer to 1/8th than 1/10th. So justified IMO. Also Cen made this as a rally racer. It certainly isn’t an extreme basher. So considering that, I think Cen did a good job engineering this for durability - especially the drive train (besides the dinky servo arm perhaps). If anything this video makes me want one.
kyosho make a 1/9 rally about this size. but all in all great car
@@KevinTalbotTV only reply is by kev? Lets change that
@@KevinTalbotTV srry its made nit make:-)
@@cjventer6733umm its Sorry NOT srry. ..and Its NOT....not Nit!!?? 😂😂😂 Lol..couldn't help myself..All jokes😂
Alex kowaliuk here,I liked the ramp down the workbench and I always like rally cars , your editing is top notch good way to start the year.
Glad you enjoyed thanks Alex
i just cannot get over the looks of this car, the body looks incredible, and how it looks when its driving the handling is amazing! great vid kev, you inspired me to make my own RC channel with my RC buddy. Thanks so much
@KevinTalbotTV I've noticed an error recently with your descriptions about suspension types.
One wishbone on bottom with links above is considered a multi-link suspension. When a car/ truck has a wishbone below and above hub, that is double wishbone.
Thanks for sharing your hard work! 👍
Just as a reminder: The Ford Puma, which this model is based on, is actually a small compact car. So I think the scale probably fits very well. Anyway, still a good and fun video.
Good point. In my head the components are part of the scale. 8th scale racing is 4S, so a car that cant take 4S just ain't 8th scale in my book.
Yeah like when Tamiya did the 1/8 nitro Mini Cooper and that was the same size as a 1/10
Smaller than a Porsche 911?

I dont know how
Me too
yo can i have one u don’t use please dude ❤
Oh kev you've broken another one lol😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
wat will hapend to the car from last week
I am really aquiring more and more rally cars. Watching them on Red Bull TV
Its cool to see Ott Tänak and Martin Järveoja little wrc car :D im from Estonia and they are our little heroes :D
❤
kevin, you are one rc demolator, I love it when you push it past the limit of normality
The 4s set up with the new servo looked like the ideal spec.
yes, perfect! 6s is nuts!
The Max10 can take 4s anyway! Maybe CEN does not want the average rtr-buyer to use it like this, as it is too fast and needs some additional cooling... 😊
I thought it could take 4s too, but my buddy reckoned it can only do 3s
That cen looks like it handled so well and I think 4s is its sweet spot for sure.
yes!
This guys gps has seen better days😂
Invest in a soda factory, kev 😂😂😂
Yeah , this car has some serious potential Kev‼️
Cen racing has always made amazing RC cars. I still have mine from 2004
OMG! The centrifugal forces involved were -economical- er....astronomical (all in miniature of course) the way those tyres expanded into orbit!
4S looks perfect for this thing. Handles like a beast.
Puma looks beautiful
That snapped from just a roll over.....
At 65mph 😂😂😂
I actually really like the looks of this, it would be awesome in a true! 8th scale nitro 🤌
Steering servo & slight power increase is all it really needs..no point doubling it
Man its always so cool watching your videos, makes me think of a day I can afford an rc like these
just bought my first rc car in well over a decade, (rofun baja 5b) this is gonna be so much fun :D
that superglue and baking soda fix was epic 😂
So funny 😂 my shock on my big rock blew off and I used the same baking soda and super glue technique and it works really good 👍🏽
Redfin should have CA Kicker which does the same thing as baking soda just a little cleaner. I use it for field repairs of foam rc planes.
Hi Kev my little brother is obsessed with rcs and loves watching your channel, I wanna thank you for being one of the only channels that don't swear. It helps me choose videos to let my little brother to watch. Thanks Kev!
Yeah he does swear 10:31
Yeah, he swears
Love the jx servos they are awesome have had one in my 1/8th rc for a while after seeing them in the videos deffo best budget servo u can get plenty of power and speed
Wow that thing pulls really straight out of the box.
Bella solo esteticamente!!
Per il resto niente di che🤗
Complimenti per. I video sempre a 360 gradi🤚
The Cen Puma Rally Car looks spot on it also took some Kev punishment i am quite impressed with it
@6:19 Kev goes mad scientist
I have a 1/8 HPI Flux Subaru. Runs on 3s as well and its almost uncontrollable. I know you aren't an HPI fan but give it a rip sometime. Might be surprised. Much love Kev!
I have the Ken Block version which i run mostly on 2s as it is alot easier to controle on 3s it is a beast. You should add a gyro to it that helps alot
have a great new year kev
Along with mini V8 engines I believe you can find mini gearboxes. It would be so cool to see a car like the Arrma infraction with the V8 and an actual transmission attached. If you can get that going I'm sure it will be one of your best videos yet. Also, happy new year!
This is extremely difficult and time consuming
U should take the rear wing off for a speed run on 6s , the rear squats very hard with the wing so lifts front
Que mudança louca, chegou a abrir o pneu de tanto forte que ficou!
Wow I'm impressed! Looks like 4S is the sweet spot!
Модель действительно неплохая, раз выдержала 6s и твои покатушки😂
That company might be worth looking into for another candidate for tires for your speed run car. The rubber seemed to stay together well, just a matter of getting a good glue bond to the rims and the tires ballooning. Would be great if they had some belted tires with that rubber compound. Great video as always!
😂 70mph is a hell of a lot different than 250mph that company won't have anything of the sort to hold up to 250 without a doubt
I find it funny how you say double wishbone suspension when most of the time its just a single A arm 😅😅 i still like your vids kev, happy new year and keep up the good stuff!
You defo improved that car when it was on 4s and with a new servo
The 6S also gave double the destruction!
Guaranteed to break with that power!
That's awesome dude, & you got some great shots in of what that thing can do👍
I reckon 4s would be the sweet spot for this.
Happy New year Kevin!! Thanks for the Outstanding content man!!
I'm sat in my workshop wind is howling around me feel ya brother 👍
Another awesome vid to kickstart the morning of rc tinkering! by the way For quick repairs on very light duty things baking soda is ok, but using a strong fibre like a chux cloth or even paper towel works far better! Even rigid granules like q bond filling powder’s are great to have around! Even clean sand or similar can basically make concrete with ca for a rock like structure! But for high stress plastics like that braided fishing line combined with a fabric and super glue can make a reinforced joint far stronger than any powder! Bit different with bi carbonate as it can end up porous and overall doesn’t have great strength compared with a fibre, it’s great working with balsa though! I should add that the method of using powder is far easier as the other methods require techniques similar to working with fibreglass. Another edit-that rear wing and soft suspension are hilarious for trying to get speed lol needs more spring less wing!
looks so enjoyable actually. i love how it runs originally.
yeah it drives loverly
Funnily enough I bought one of these 2 weeks ago and it’s the most fun I’ve had in a while, had more fun with this than I did with a 6s mt8 or a 6s kraton, love it 😅
One thing about the CA glue and powder. The strength depends a LOT of the CA glue you're using. I found the dollar store CA isn't that strong meanwhile Zap a Gap is incredibly strong. Same as JB Weld instant glue.
Edit: your repair looks like Frosty the Snowman had his way with the steering horn hahahaha
I once had a bottle of tire glue split open when I was squeezing all over my hands😂
i feel like i’ve watched all your videos u gotta feed the streets kev!
Always going in for the raffles... Never expect to win but love to show the support!!! Always upping your game kev.. absolute legend for getting these vids out with such good quality and fun!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Catch you soon bro
I think this rc car is decent, but..
Closer in size to 1/8th scale really 👍👍
Something to do with the crash I think is it squatting down and getting air under it or it could just be wheelies
I remember when I got my first brushless motor when the castle Mamba motor came out many years ago, it was so frustrating trying to keep my buggy from doing wheelies and crashing!
Have to watch this when I’m home from work looking forward to it
I think it was really impressive especially for being pushed way outside of its recommended limits
Glad you tested this car, off my list now😂
Hey Kev your videos got me into Rc I love your videos where you just have fun and don’t get all serious about the hobby I have a similar idea if your having fun no one should judge
It appeared to behave incredibly SCALE, even at 3S. It's not supposed to be a speed runner, but a scale replica (as best as you could get performance-wise). It'd be a hoot on dirt, I'd imagine.
Yooo when Kevin uploads I got to watch because he’s just an amazing person 🧍♂️
Impressive that it handles the double voltage so well.
Was looking forward to seeing this vid and to know wot u thought as I’ve got one of these. Why over volt and blow it up. It’s absolutely fine and pretty quick standard. Only thing I changed so far was I put a dumborc on it with gyro. My bad udidn’t blow it up. It really doesn’t need 6s tho
for fun and views :)
@@KevinTalbotTV fair enuff sir! 👍🏻
Been looking forward to this one
Happy new year kevin.🎉
stock thats really awesome! looks super scale moving around
Kevin your videos are outstanding
Another great video Kev. Keep up the good work..
Love the content been watching for a while but only just remembered to subscribe lol entered the raff too always happy to support cool creators ❤❤
Happy New Year 🎉🎉 Kevin
Anyone else would let off when a tire blew , but kevin is a madman and kept giving it the juice
Kevs not normal ya know 😂
gotta get the footage!!
love your vids kevin keep it up man your convincing me to get one
Reminds me of a couple of old buggy racers I had when I was growing up, but this has one thing they didn't (until I upgraded it) and that is metal gears. Even bone stock this did relatively well I'd say, but also agree that the scaling is a bit underwhelming given they didn't really give it the 1/8 scale beef to certain parts.
If it's not 1/8 scale, it shouldn't be sold as 1/8. Pretty simple. Good job calling them out.
So much torque the chasis twisted coming off the line
Sounds very peppy. Interesting sound in this one!
Happy new year kev... hopefully we see the life size monster truck more 👌
That smile on your face bud 😂😂😂 says it ALL 💯💯💯
Yes, not a 1/8th and not a 1/10th. BUT, the basis of a bloody good basher/ car as 1/9th yes too. BRILLIANT TEST Kevin. 👏👏👏
Question is, do we need a 1/9th!!!
Damn, that car really looks good. I might need one of thems. But agreed, it's 10th scale.
@KevinTalbotTV we need a comparison video of the regular Xmaxx and the new Xmaxx ultimate or just a Xmaxx ultimate unboxing, bashing, then what you think about it in the end
I’ve been asking for a really car in your comments now finally I did a show of it😅😅😅😂
Ow yeah kev the glue and baking soda really works even on materials that are hard to glue and it holds
But it can get fragile when its cold. And the plastic on this car looks really weak
The suspension and damper may not be the best, but i love the optic how it works. 🙂
I've never bought a raffle ticket before but boy do I want one of his RC cars
Seems like a really nice rig, love the body.
Cool, was looking for a better servo for my Puma 👍👍
99.99% rc car, 0.01% baking soda
Happy New Year Kev I have to say 1/10 scale but looks nice i
10:58 I've done this on a cracked swing arm and it held for ages, it finally broke into in a different spot....
Greetings from Estonia!!!
Go Ott
I love you're video so much
I'm you're biggest fan and it's my birthday next month
I love the content keep up the great work.
On the subject of Savox servos, just ripped one out of my Typhon TLR because I hated how loud the damn things are.
Q bond makes a good glue with bonding powder.. I use it all the time in a body shop on real cars.. try it.. idk if you can get it in the uk thou
