      Me too. I left a senior engineering position at a major tech company 5 years ago and no physician ever mentioned menopause or MHT to me. A month ago, I found an amazing new gynecologist and she started me on an Estradiol patch and oral Micronized Progesterone, even though I’m 10+ years post-menopausal. I hope I get my brain, energy, and bone density back, as well as improved sleep going forward.🤞

    Your both powerhouses of knowledge that women need to watch and listen too. This information needs to spread far and wide to save as many women as possible. The knowledge i have gained from Marie has been helping me take care of myself as I have perimenopause signs for the last 8years, since docs won't listen to me. Unfortunately I have been recently diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 40 and will be needing to be put into menopause stage medically. This has made me feel alittle uneasy as l have not thought that far ahead. Now with all the information you have put out there it further pushes in the back of my mind that I need to make sure I do some sort of HRT post surgery. BTW my mother 64, has Alzheimers post breast cancer not even 10 years post her surgeries. This research is so important to save lives. Thank you for getting this info out.

Of course it takes work, but it's exciting when we take the right action. HRT is not a solution for all by far and I and my clients continue to be proof of this. A plantbased diet and deep liver care, along with a ton of inner work, does pay off and can alleviate all of symptoms, naturally. The geaynecologist did a biopsy of the uterus. I had no progesterone. No egg was released but estrogen remained high, hence the bleeding. The periode of 5 days was now spread over 17 dsys. The peri.menopause is a rollercoaster of everything that is abnormal😢

    • @nicolemerz1731
      @nicolemerz1731 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      There is a lot of controversy out there whether a thing like "estrogen dominance" truly exists... it might just as likely be a lack of progesterone.
      I am 54 and at 53 also experienced heavy bleeding - my doctor decided to increase my Progesteron dose to 300 milligrams each day. Now the annoying bleeding stopped and I sleep even better... but I needed a blood test to find out that my free testosterone was really really low even though my total Testosteron looked "normal". But I have been on the birth control pill for more than thirty years and my SHBG levels are just too high. My doctor was really scared of giving me the hrt and I had to convince him and I will be his first patient to get testosterone (hopefully soon). I have always been very athletic but the last few years with declining hormones I lost so much muscle strength...
      I had to become an expert on the topic myself and now teach my doctors and lots of women around me who are in desperate need of help. Many are about to give up their jobs because of the brain fog and insomnia. Women worldwide suffer so much needlessly just because of ignorance and all the Misogyny in science...
      Best wishes to you and your journey 💪🍀from Germany 🇩🇪

    I'm 71 and haven't been myself since my peri began at 43. I was hooked in by the rubbish WHI trial 'results' and didn't take HRT back then. Doctors continued to tell me I'd missed my window. I'm now a menopause advisor and have learned a tremendous amount. Because of this, I've tried HRT 3 times in the last 7 years but it woke up my polyp (which I've now had removed) and I got sore breasts, so in each case, I've stopped taking it. I've been told that the body doesn't like us to start and stop, so I don't now know what to do, but I'd love to try again. I wish I knew someone who'd be able to figure out how to alleviate the breast soreness which is extremely uncomfortable, because nobody seems to know. I'm in the UK and would like to be in touch with someone who would give me another chance, but obviously who's as clued up as the amazing Lisa Mosconi! I'm still looking....🤞🏻🤞🏻

      I just started MHT last month. I went to a different gynecologist and she prescribed oral Micronized Progesterone, transdermal Estradiol patch, and vaginal Estradiol cream for GSM symptoms. I am 60.5 years old and am more than 10 years post-menopausal. I also have normal BMI & blood pressure, have never smoked, minimal alcohol consumption, and my last cardiac calcium score was zero, so she feels confident that I don’t have pre-existing cardiovascular disease. However, I do have osteoporosis and a family history of dementia so I’m hoping MHT will help with that and other post-menopausal symptoms.

    Hi, I am 68 years old, and went through menopause at age 43. I had been on HRT’s, which included Estrace and Prometrium until 2019 when I was diagnosed with BRCA1 mutation. I then had prophylactic bilateral mastectomies, and hysterectomy with BSO. Intraoperative I was found to have stage one fallopian tube cancer. The timing of all this was nothing less than miraculous. I had chemo prophylactically at that time., and have not had reoccurrence. As you would expect my HRT‘s were Ripped away from me. So essentially, I have been off HRT‘s for five years. I am wondering if stopping my HRT’s cancelled out all the years of cardiovasular, neuro protection. My main concern at this point is that my mother as well as her sister had dementia. I do have some arterial plaque, but not obstructive. My labs are all great and my lipid panel is fabulous as I am on Crestor. I really want to go back on some form of HRT, because dementia is a fate worse than death. No doctor will have a conversation with me about this. I just get the side eye and eye roll.

    • @leslieh335

      From what I have heard from other podcasts, it depends on what kind of cancer you have. In some cancers, estrogen causes growth of the cancer. In others, estrogen is not the reason the cancer is growing, so, it's safe. You might try asking your oncologist whether your cancer is effected by estrogen. Hope this helps. You might try listening to Dr. Susan Hardwicke-Smith. She has talked about this quite a bit. Also,Dr. Louise Newsome. These ladies are incredibly knowledgeable. ❤❤❤

      @@leslieh335 Thank you for your reply. I’m a nurse married to an oncologist. My cancer was Oestrogen sensitive, which is why I had to start on Tamoxifen at 48yo. This was all 12 years ago, so now the question is how to up which is the greatest danger to my health - the cancer possible returning or all the other “side effects” of 12 years of menopause. I’m already on antidepressants (with their own side effects), pre diabetic (despite being a healthy weight), fatty liver (despite a healthy diet). Medicine always involves weighing up risks and benefits, which is difficult when the risks and benefits of HRT for women like myself, are unknown as there have been no large scale studies.
