I used my moulds for freeze drying ice cream and hummus. I use a bench scraper to (very satisfyingly) level each pocket which then gives me a perfect portion for snacking or rehydrating at work. Less messy than powder.
Hi! Love your videos! Just bought the covers and the Silicon cubes using your affiliate link. Thanks for being informational, educational and entertaining!
Yes I have had them for a while now. I have a lot of Tray Accessories for my HR. I even have dividers where I can put 2 levels of product on each Tray.
I am so glad to see this I have been using similar molds I got from Temu, a 2 pack for under 6. dollars. 40 cells each. I have been using them for fruit purees.... I have been using them just to freeze. Pop them out and freeze dry. Today, after seeing you freeze dry in the mold, I am trying a tray in the molds....for my strawberry / pineapple purees. I also do flavored apple sauce in the cubes they would sell out if you try to sell them ..fruit cubes are amazing!
So I tried both puree in the molds and out.... I always freeze them in rhe molds and remove from the mold for drying, so my thought are they did freeze dry both ways but less drama if I take them out of the mold for drying...they take about 24 hours....so much better than candy IMO....
6:11 I feel the sane way with the rain right now. We have had a copious amounts of rain over the past month and a half, and we are supposed to get more. I’m over the wet rainy weather.
I've used my molds for egg nog bites for Christmas gifts and pureed dog treats, perfect bite size! I would say the only downside is washing out every single compartment on the molds. Ive thrown them in the dishwasher but still an annoying process.
I prefer to freeze my stuff in the silicone trays and then remove to freeze dry. I think the silicone may slow down the drying but I get it for containing something like you did.
Did you know you can get the five tray insert for your freeze dryer without having to buy a whole new machine. I bought it with a set of five trays for my medium freeze dryer a few months ago for under $500. The five trays will lessen the head space for each tray so if you are freeze drying something that expands a lot may want to hold on to the four tray insert for those foods.
I did hear you can get the new shelving unit but didn’t know the price so thanks for sharing that info! Certain candy i freeze dry may not do well in the more narrow shelves…. Unless I cut them smaller maybe! Ok gonna have to think about this more!
Yesss!!! So excited for you 🥳🥳🥳 hope you love it - thanks for the support I so appreciate it 🥰 I got your email and I’ll send off your goodies this week 👏 Definitely let me know how set up goes and everything!
It's currently sitting in my kitchen, doing nothing. I can't lift it onto an elevated platform to use it. Hoping to bribe the furniture delivery guys coming today. :)
I did not see your link in the description, so I went over to HR and saw that they do not carry the molds for the small and extra large machines. Perhaps HR will come out with the molds for those later.
Shoot thanks for telling me about my link, it didn’t save all of my video description for some reason but should be fixed now. I didn’t realize they didn’t have the other sizes! Hopefully soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
The molds are 5 for the Medium, 6 for the Large. As already stated by another the Small and XL don’t have these molds. They never have and I would wager a guess they never will. Harvest Right prefers to sell the Medium and Large machines (they tried talking me into buying a Medium instead of a Small when I first brought it up to the salesman last year. I didn’t buy mine then but did this year). I’ve seen so many molds on Amzn for much less, I was surprised you’d get the ones from HR, but I guess they are cheaper, just pretty small. I’ve seen someone put in a base yogurt, add a raspberry, then yogurt on top with a topping over that. Those molds were deeper than these, so I don’t know if it could be done. He froze them solid first, removed them from the molds and placed directly on the trays for the Fd’ing.
I recently received my 6 HR silicone food molds for my HR large Pro and did the Caramel M&M's today as I listened to this video. I have successfully freeze dried Skittles several times and have done half a dozen full loads of meat. Having said that, my attempt at freeze drying these M&M's was an absolute FAIL. Just two candies short of TWO FULL TRAYS (one-third ofthe M&M's !) failed to pop, with a temp setting of 150 (candy mode of course) and dried them for over 7 hours. I just put the unpopped ones back in for two more hours, but I am not hopeful. I will NOT be freeze drying these again unless someone can point out what I did wrong.
oh how strong I am not sure what may have caused the M&Ms not to pop.... I always have a few that don't pop open but the majority will. I wonder if you gave the shell a little crack before putting them in so that the Carmel has a place to expand through easier... it would just be a little more time consuming
Thanks for another great FD CANDY demo❤❤❤
I always love the candy 😁

I’ll have to try that great idea! My kids love the freeze dried ice cream
Currently pulling apart M&M’s eat chug big this!!! 😫😂 and the cold brew Carmel ones are amazing!!!
@@engler907 I need to try the cold brew! Sounds so good
I used the trays for M&M’s also. They turned out amazing
Awesome! I’m glad it worked great for them

@@yorkiekids7084 I was wondering if it’s better to dry foods like that in or out of the molds - thanks for the info! So helpful

Oh no 😖 we all need some sunshine!!!
@@DIYfreezedry I agree.
Love the tray hack! Sorry about the snow😩
we luckily had sun today!
I used mine for freeze drying scrambled eggs. Then wash them in the dishwasher.
Oh great idea!! Love that they can go in the dishwasher
Wow, another must try, loved the taco soup! now the MnMs.
Thank you!! Ah I love the caramel m&ms

Egg nog bits sound so good - my family loves egg nog. Yeah I agree the washing is a bit tedious 😆😆
I love the m&ms!
The best!

that's a good tip about freezing first then removing before freeze drying for more liquidy foods, thanks!

@@harleyrenegade8035 I just didn’t remember exactly 😅 but always appreciate the extra info
I paid $350 about 6 months ago for the 5 shelf unit. I haven’t done a candy batch yet.
I finally ordered a freeze dryer today, using your link. I emailed the info to you :)

when you get the five tray it will be a different size ,,, no. or yes
@@oneofakind6313 you get a new shelving unit which makes the spaces more narrow…. It fits inside the medium dryer I already have
The link isn’t there for the trays.
Ah thank you!!! I just got it fixed. I had added it all when I uploaded the video but for some reason it didn’t save it 😖
Have you had the cold brew caramel m&ms? I don't even like coffee, but these are great freeze dried
No! I’m gonna look for those now 🤗
They are delicious. I freeze dry them all the time.
Seems like you could put two of the caramel M&Ms in each space and market them as twin candy!
I like that idea!

Has anyone tried freeze drying licorice?
I have tried and it doesn’t do anything in the freeze dryer :/
I got mine on Amazon
nice! have you liked them?
How about a sticker version!
