    Great video! Explanation was super thorough and I didn’t know candy mode didn’t have an initial dry time. I’ve asked before but never got an answer regarding it until I seen this video.

    I like the new intro!
    Very neat to see the new setting at work. So much faster! I also like my taffy in smaller pieces.

    Wonderful and detailed! This helped me a ton. One question - why is there foil on the bottom of your rack? What’s the purpose of that?

    • @diyhda
      @diyhda  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The foil came with the rack from Harvest Right. I'm not 100% sure why they put it on.

    We haven't had a chance to run candy yet since we have been doing in season fruit and garden produce, but we seem to be winding down now that fruit is becoming out of season and are really looking forward to running some candy. So thanks for the how to, especially with the newest software which we also just updated to. Can't wait to give this a try.

      I have the brand harvest right and I followed your instructions exactly but it still takes way longer than 2 hours. Do you know why?

    • @sharonjennings1282
      @sharonjennings1282 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you pre freeze the candy?

    • @diyhda

      Hmm. Idk why it's taking longer for you. I didn't pre freeze the candy. The only thing I can think of is the initial and extra freeze time numbers not being set to what mine were. If they were, is it possible there is something wrong with the vacuum? Let me know what you find.

    • @avibhatt2013
      @avibhatt2013 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good answer below, I had a tiny screw, leaking vacuum, it was holding the harvest right black plastic lever onto the drain valve. And cycles were taking way too long. Temporarily I would close the drain valve then check/tighten that screw. A hint is your vacuum pump lowers the pressure by only 1 mTor per second when there's a leak. After checking that screw or replacing the valve with an all brass home depot part for $13, now the mTor goes down by 3 per second, with no leaks.

    Why do you cool the trays only to immediately after warm the trays? Is there a purpose to it or can we skip the cooling step?

    So I don't see a video regarding to how you get the gummy candy work. I like how detail you go on your videos especially on the ma hine settings. I have a hard time on the gummy one. Hope you will have a successful batch and teach us how to freeze dried different gummy candies

    • @kuroimushi9421

      It changes texture and enhances the taste.

    your not releasing the pressure you are releasing the vacuum a freeze dryer works by freezing the food then creating a vacuum the heating tray defrost the food and the moisture is pulled from the food.try ice cream sandwiches vanilla or strawberry ice cream its a delight.
