Your classification lesson is outdated. There are now three Domains of Life (Archaea, Bacteria, Eukarya (Eukarya is further broken into four Kingdoms (protist, fungi, plant, animal)
Most schools accept the 6 kingdom model.based on three "domains" of life, of Bacteria, Archaea, and Eukaryota.[5] Combined with the five-kingdom model, this created a six-kingdom model, where the kingdom Monera is replaced by the kingdoms Bacteria and Archaea. Thomas Cavalier-Smith proposed an eight kingdom model that divided bacteria into gram positive and gram negative.
yes there are multiple frameworks through which we discriminate one lifeform from another. these are just frameworks, so the one someone uses is up to them and their purposes
