Two songs I play in DADGAD are, "Treetop Flyer" Stephen Stills, and Colin Hay's "I just don't think I'll ever get over you"...Stills plays it in Standard tuning, which to me, is so difficult to play (I'm not the best guitarist)...DADGAD is a great alternative to standard tuning, when chords in Standard are too difficult to play, in some songs...Hay plays his in DADGAD.

Open Em7 is a tuning I like. Mark Holcomb of Periphery showed examples of how to write a riff with it. Clean it sounded cool and with distortion it was brutal.
I been playing DADGAD for 24 years all because of Luka Bloom. Yet i been told i sound like John Martin (twice), Pink Floyd , Joe Satriani & Christy Moore's bro which is Luka Blooms Brother. My most detailed song has 23 Chords although i play a sequence that revolves around 5 or 6 chords but i get variation by heavily using a capo. If i gave a DADGAD tuning lesson it would be so much more simpler than what Marco is showing us hitting an array ofsingle notes.
And I thought you were going to give a lesson on Led Zeppelin. Instead you showed something entirely different and musically beautiful about DADGAD. Very nice lesson.

i keep a guitarlele in my car tuned to standard guitar tuning, you can actually get some high tension strings and tune all the way down to guitar tunings if your curious :P would help you learn from guitar lessons a tiny bit better

I first learned DADGAD from Led Zeppelin's Black Mountain Side/White Summer Kashmir and Swan Song...There are so many other Zeppelin tunes in alternate tunings CSNY as well
Look for lessions here on TH-cam for Led Zeppelins "The Rain Song" and your guitar life will get another quality. Tabs are also available on the web somewhere, and those helped me a lot. I keep my cheaper(ish) acoustic constantly in DADGAD because of that. Most beautiful alternate tuning of them all!

This is tough I know it will mess me up but it explains why many rolling stones songs never sounded right in the E tuning and Ive played some slide guitar that way as well talk about confusing to a young kid hey we had no teachers and usually only one guitar. N we knew albums differed 8ntheir tuning as well but didnt know why Im thinking about trying this now only because I have an additional guitar.
They do in a way mate the inlay on the guitar(not in this situation) but you can also just see where his fingers are or look up the chords in a chart-.-
Know One I agree my teacher personally never used this crap if you just practice you will start to get it also you people who use this probably can’t read music notes ona a guitar learn that it’s so simple
