Me and like 4 other people almost died to this with post moon lord gear. Also I was the first one to die, as it was my second calamity playthrough.
Brand of the inferno parries boss charges and reflects damage.
It does NOT protect you from DOT effects though so, only use it as a last resort if you're garbage at dodging or already dying from DOT.

I don't know if it was in previous versions but all the beeps and whirs that the plaguebringer emits during it's fight adds a whole new layer of coolness to one of my favourite bosses in calamity. I listen to it's theme when i'm doing grinding and farming.

Agreed. When I first heard this theme not in-game, it was awesome. But when you're actually fighting her, I legit got chills from the beeps and whirs like you said, it adds a whole new layer of badass to it
Those sounds are actually him doing his attacks.
If you listen closely to its phase transition alarm sound, it kinda sounds like the Australian Emergency Alert System but at a lower pitch.
I just thought to point that out.

I've done summoner against this boss before and I needed a few things from astrum aureus and just a sentry from the Astral infection and I was able to kill the boss with pre-boss stuff but it took over a thousand attempts to do so. On my next playthrough I might just get the butterfly summon which I had to kill ravager for that when I was practicing with it. And ironically enough ravager is pretty easy as summoner. (And somehow much easier was summoner than any other class.(at least from my experiences with ravager)) (and I believe if you play rogue or melee I think this boss might be the easiest with those two classes.

i like the plague bringer's sprite alot, it actually has a decent amount of animation unlike most of cal's bosses

Well there isn't really much room for that much animation in a lot of the bosses, but the sprites really make up for it.

On my first calamity mod play through it took my about 60-70 tries to beat plaugbringer, when it was all said and done I was so broken by the whole ordeal that I ended my play though right then and there and didn’t touch calamity for like another 4 months to which I actually did beat him with relative ease which if anything just pissed me off even more.
Currently on my first calamity playthrough (expert revengeance, currently at Providence) took me 25 attempts which is by far the most I have spent on a single boss
listened to this while doing homework and i was literally working at the speed of the beat (somehow)
how would doing homework in 5/8 time even work

On all seriousness though, i hated this boss as much as Astrum Aureus, i guess melee weapons aren't that good for a giant, incredibly fast bee.
Edit: I'm doing a true melee playthrough now and I take back what I said, Plaguebringer Goliath is amazing, such a good fight.
Astrum Aureus can still go choke on a fat one though.
I used a true Ark of the Ancients and a tiny, tiny bit of Terra Shiv, copious amounts of profanities, and five attempts to beat this funnyman.

Very fun bossfight on expert ranger, the music just adds to the enjoyability. Same goes for Calamitas (not sure what Supreme Calamitas will be like).
Edit: accidentally beating Astrum Deus with no healing potions was fun

@@giran4914 It makes the game at ton more fun. Adrenaline and rage, upgraded bosses , like for example, the desert scourge has two little piss babies that it uses to fight alongside it. It’s a lot more fun and a ton more rewarding to beat bosses.
@@ivanandrews3094 Some people prefer a more simple experience, plus its better off to experience the bosses without revengance before switching it on, makes it much more surprising when you see what new gimmicks the boss brins with em

Did I miss something with the Plaguebringer fight? She was fairly easy for me to beat the first time around on Revengeance. I will say it was a cool fight throughout. Calling the nukes in coupled with the sfx made for an aesthetically pleasing fight.

Ive never simultaneously loved a boss for their music and utterly HATED them for the actual fight so much lol
This was also before i had the broken ability of teamwork and had to do everything on my own but i made it many attempts later hehe
I found this fight pretty fun, I think you just need a large arena which is kinda annoying
