Hello gentlemen. Good review video for the top trim level Toyota Grand Highlander Platinum Hybrid Max. Like what was mentioned in this video this vehicle is basically a big version of Toyota compact SUV the RAV 4. The Grand Highlander has exterior design cues of the RAV 4 at the front, middle and the back. As for the interior, that's where things change where there are no design cues of the RAV 4. Toyota definitely hit the ball out of the park or delivered a slam dunk with overall interior space. They made a statement with that for sure. In terms of interior space for passengers and cargo, it would be great if a comparison video is done between this vehicle and the Chevy Traverse. Also, between this vehicle and the Volkswagen Atlas. It'll be very interesting to see those head to head comparison videos. Ever since the release of the Toyota Grand Highlander, I've seen more than quite of few of them on the road. They're selling. One question to ask would be, depending on how sales figures turn out, if overall sales for the Grand Highlander exceeds what Toyota initially anticipated, do you think we would see a next generation regular Highlander in few years or would the regular Highlander get discontinued in few years time? As for a suggestion, two segments that you guys can add for your review videos as well as vehicle comparison videos would be the turning radius and braking performance. For the turning radius the vehicle that does a complete turning circle in a shorter distance would be the better performer. In general testing out acceleration from 0 to 60mph is good. We all like that. However, testing from 60mph to 0 for braking performance is also good. Just like the turning radius where the shorter the distance the better, the same for the braking performance as well. The vehicle that stops in a shorter distance from 60mph would be the better performer. Happy Easter to both of you!!
We like our bougie interiors! It seems that Toyota and Honda could do with an overhaul in their design departments as they are lagging behind competitors concerning exterior and interior design! The new models coming out from both of these auto makers already look dated IMO, they don’t stir up excitement to want to run out and buy either one. Reliability is lovely and all but couldn’t hurt to make them appealing as well.

When you guys say that the cargo space behind the 3rd row is much larger than regular highlander, Traverse, Palisade etc., I wish you could give us a more practical sense of what that means. To me, the larger space in grand highlander is fairly theoretical rather than practical. That is, the cubic space on paper is larger due to the boxier shape of the cargo space in grand highlander. But that doesn't mean that the typical spaces needed for cargo use are actually much larger than even that in the regular highlander. In many respects, grand highlander seems quite unimpressive (ex. lower material quality and legroom in the 1st and 2nd row seats), as well as actually a lower crash rating compared to the likely more thoughtfully designed 4th-gen. regular highlander that is now starting to get a bit old. In addition, the design language of the grand highlander is quite inconsistent with that of the Toyota and Lexus models introduced from 2023 on making it not as modern-looking as other newly introduced Toyota and Lexus models are. The better way to do this was to simply introduce a new generation of highlander that was simply larger and conformed to the language design of all other models introduced in 2023 and later.
@@pengxue8789 You said it got a "poor" result in a crash test... a "poor" result is the worst of the 4 ratings available from IIHS. I looked at IIHS again for the GH, and for the crash test, it had 1 subtest that was "Acceptable" (1 step below maximum score), with the others being "Good" (maximum score)... it did not have any "poor" result, or even a "moderate" result under the IIHS rating scale. So no, the IIHS test does not say what you are asserting it says.
I have an AWD 2024 hybrid Sienna. Very capable, utilitarian. I think it is a better choice over a GH hybrid AWD. But I would like to get the hybrid max platinum for acceleration and towing.
For $60,000 vehicle, it’s missing things like power folding seats from the rear for both rows as well as not having power tilt and telescoping wheel which you can get on the TX on any of their models. It’s a nice vehicle but for $60,000 It seems like Toyota really missed the mark by leaving certain things out that you would expect for that kind of price point.
Agreed. I knew the grand highlander would be subpar compared to the competition. Even the tx is subpar. Both of them are dead on arrival compared to other 3 rows

Did the complaints actually mention the TSB that's out about those concerns? It says to try that first before proceeding.
ive never heard of this, where are you getting this information?

Need a Honda Pilot Hybrid stat!
Will the Honda Pilot get a hybrid?
It is to be seen, but we hope so!
does it not have a spare tire?
This would be a great road trip car. Probably comfortably can sleep in the back for two adults and one child.
Why no one mentioned about the poor result of crash test?
What "poor" result? I haven't seen any such thing.
Check the IIHS test for the GH, and you will know.

The center armrest looks uncomfortable to me. Looks like the stitched edging will dig into your arm after awhile.
Truthfully it is a bit annoying.
What a pretty car
torn between this and honda pilot.
We have a comparison on the channel answering just that!
Well, do you know what it can’t beat? Toyota Sienna!
We did a comparison on just that! You'd be surprised at how close it is!
I have an AWD 2024 hybrid Sienna. Very capable, utilitarian. I think it is a better choice over a GH hybrid AWD. But I would like to get the hybrid max platinum for acceleration and towing.
Honestly the grand highlander strikes me as a minivan that doesn’t want to be a minivan
The seats like dirty as heck already
I hate bucket seats should be bench!!
The third row is not more spacious than the palisade.
You should've bought this instead of the santa fe
My mom has a 2024 toyota grand highlander
I hate the screen. All screens should be flat in the console
It has to much plastic for a 60k car
For $60,000 vehicle, it’s missing things like power folding seats from the rear for both rows as well as not having power tilt and telescoping wheel which you can get on the TX on any of their models. It’s a nice vehicle but for $60,000 It seems like Toyota really missed the mark by leaving certain things out that you would expect for that kind of price point.
It’s basically just a RAV4. This thing prints money for Toyota.
Agreed. I knew the grand highlander would be subpar compared to the competition. Even the tx is subpar. Both of them are dead on arrival compared to other 3 rows
@@naveenthemachine All CUVs are subpar. I want a real SUV or Pickup Truck.
@@naveenthemachineare you paid to shill for Kia? You’re on every car reviewer bashing Toyotas praising Kia
Why does this have more rear cargo than a Sequoia 🧍🏽♂️🤦♀️
Is this really a highest trim level expensive vehicle with a prop rod Hood? Talk about cheap.
5'9...yeah 😂
I think the interior of Toyota took a deep dive for worse 😢
Only now you figured out Toyotas have the worst interiors? 😂
I don’t know when last Toyota have a nice interior.
Why does Toyota use crappy CVT's?
Quieter than the lexus TX?!
I'll go with Honda's pilot
Too small in third row and screen is from 1995
Why does every Toyota door sound like a tin can 6:11
Cost way too much & only 22 mph, no thank you..
It’s just a RAV4 with a stretch.
@@user-tb7rn1il3qThe Rav-4 XL has also been thrown around.
I'm so confused, Kia figured out that people want SUV like minivans. Why doesn't toyota just follow them and make an SUV with sliding doors. This is just a minivan with annoying doors.
Kia this, hyundai that. Okay Koreaboo.
what about a night drive video?
Night Review is coming soon 👍
Only 62K for a midsized cheap looking SUV, wow.
I feel bad for Toyota; I bet they lose money on these.
22mpg for a hybrid? Yikes.
Overpriced. Not the drivetrain we want. No thanks. Lets boycott towards a recession.😂
Too expensive for a Japanese car. Toyota and Honda make good cars but they run off of their former glory.
No it doesn’t beat them all. All of its rivals especially the pilot telluride palisade are superior in every aspect to the GH
