  • The #ToyotaGrandHighlander has been the 3-row family SUV that #Toyota has needed for years. It finally arrived last year and the #GrandHighlander with the #HybridMax powertrain is also one of the most powerful and fuel-efficient SUV's in its class. It's an easy choice if you want space, power, and efficiency all wrapped into one.

This is what Toyota has been planning all along. They have built such reliable vehicles that it rarely saw the dealership for any major issues. So they made money up front for all the sales but made a little to nothing in maintenance. So they decided to make a crappy line so that the Toyota Techs have something to do and earn. It's kind of an "F'd" way for Toyota to go this route.

I want a good quality, reliable standard long lasting transmission and a good ole reliable v6 gas engine or diesel built with quality materials and offers good power and good efficiency. Do you know if they really stopped production and the sale of this vehicle? Also what to expect for the 2025 model year? I ordered one (Platinum Hybrid Max) in Canada in June 2023 and I’m still waiting for it. Should I just wait for the 2025 model year? I just don’t see the value of getting a new car and in a couple of months , it would be “last year’s model”

I'm still scratching my head as to why Toyota went this route with the powertrain. They chose to take the legendary 2GR out and replace it with a 2.5 4 banger turbo. Toyota could have done a 3.5 2GR with a supercharger, then mate that with an electric motor. Heck, the 3.5 V6 Toyota's in AU had a mild supercharger already. They should have built upon that. Oh wait...that would have been too reliable for Toyota...nvm.

    The Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max
tires that come with this vehicle are absolutely trash. Dealing with a second flat already in one month. They are so delicate. The slightest little thing can cut right through them. Toyota must update these tires. Two more rigid ones. (GRAND

I’m in Canada. Similar issue with the gas tank. Gas light comes on with 30km to empty and when that goes to 0km it changes to REFUEL. The car can drive another 80km with REFUEL on. Just with gas light on it can do 100km. I took my GH to Toyota and they connected the computer and it shows how much gas it had when it was empty I figured out the reserve is very conservative. Annoying but you also do not want to run out of gas with a hybrid motor. Hopefully toyota can provide an update so the light doesn’t come on too early.
