The Emperor's New Groove is a game that details the events of an Emperor named "Kuzco" Kuzco wants to build a
summer getaway resort in a village, completely remodeling the previous fashion of that village. After a run in
with his most trusted professional advisor/scientist/witch regarding her running the palace and playing "Emperor" behind
his back, Kuzco decides to fire her, and in retaliation his now fired advisor tries to poison kuzco, luckily, the "Poison"
does not kill Kuzco, it merely turns him into a llama, now Kuzco must find his way back to Yzma's lab, and with him,
comes the very peasant whom's land he is currently try to remodel, can Kuzco turn back into a human? Or will Yzma and
all her helpers finish him off first?
This game is based on the same movie by Disney, if this game or story interests you, i highly recommend that you watch
the movie, as it is entertaining and i consider it as a classic, oh, and if you have watched the movie, then please be sure
to know that it has a sequel, so understand that.
PS1 platformer game not very difficult, but apprantly done by the same voice actors as the movie... enjoy. -

Ah man, I remember playing this game for hours. Always hated the jungle level where you had to run from the jaguars.
Yeah nearly every attempt, I couldn't mash the key fast enough and it was just frustrating. Took me ages as a kid to finally beat that part.
For me when I was a kid, those giant spiders freaked me out. Everytime I played the jungle level, I was tiptoeing around lol
LOL I remember asking my mom for help cause I couldn't beat it, she pressed the button and I moved him XD
@@unaicasal3061 my dad and I did the same thing! Wholesome memory
I struggled too. I had one of those logitech controllers for Windows and what I ended up doing was taking the mouse pad and putting it over all 6 front buttons and running my palm back and forth rapidly and somehow it worked. Kid logic!
ignoring the graphics, this game's quality and experience it gives is even better than many of today's games.
okay... WHAT? This game is only 5 hours long? I remember playing it for days, weeks even as a kid!
That BasicBiatch same. I actually couldn't beat it! I got to the catacombs level at the end and always died
5 hours long for a longplay of ps1 game is more than enough. Most games could be finished in 2-3 hours if you know what to do. If fact, i was suprised to see, that this game lasts 5 HOURS - its 2 times long than Resident Evil or Silent Hill, or Crash Bandicoot. Its very long
Same
Hahaha, totally agree! I never played it, but same happens with other games, I used to waste hours and hours playing them, but few years ago, I played them again and I finished them and less than 7 hours or the same day.
it got me nearly 10 years to finish it, thing is I got stuck in many levels, and I had no idea I could look up on the internet what to do (and even if I did, I didn't know english) so I often ended up not progressing for years
I distinctly remember playing the game during pre school and finishing it during middle school
Not sure how long it was exactly, but it wasn't too far off a decade
and now I could start and finish it on a single day... So weird...
Ah. So many memories.
The frustration of being an uncoordinated kid who isn't able to smash the buttons fast enough to run from the jaguars. The satisfaction of headbutting the bike kid. All those bunnies flung into the void. All those gates slammed into your face. And the clutch crocodiles.
I had too much fun playing this thing.
It's hard for me to believe that The Emperor's New Groove movie is old enough to have a PS1 game for it.
Neftolis Zulander 2000
You gotta remember,back then,if it was new,it deseved a video game...XD
This is a very packed game for a Disney port.
10/10. They did REALLY good on this.
Disney Interactive peaked with this game alongside Toy Story 2, although i'm not sure how much involvement it had with each gane respectively
I love how this game includes an arc between Kuzco and the llama bike kid.
one of the best arcs
who else watched whole thing just to reminisce about there child hood lol
LOL I KNEW I COULDNT BE THE ONLY ONE HERE
It took a couple days but I did it lol
Shayla Negrete here here
Me
Yo Hehehe.
I love how this game constantly breaks the 4th wall.
Just like the movie.
Kuzco is being Deadpool
I love that little animation of Kuzco hugging his Wampy! :D
Madame Requiem a man and a woman of the
I just love the music in this game! Even if i felt anxious about the change in music when first time approaching a guard. I was also an idiot because I actually stayed for quite some time near pacha's hut because pacha did say not to go anywhere
Lmfao i did the same thing. Kids are dumb bro 😂
Great game,so underrated,a definition of hidden gem.
4:23:31 That shit was actually pretty scary. The way he smiles and approaches you slowly, sometimes you don't see him coming either, in the default camera angle. What makes it the most creepy is the fact that you actually did kill him earlier in the game. You killed a child just to get to the other level.
I always feared this part of the game as a kid
Bro shit spooked tf outta me as a kid. I'm glad I'm not the only one
If i saw that as i kid i can assure you i would've been too scared to finish the game
Im just not replaying the game cuz I never got this far as a kid and that thing really scared me so bad lmao 😭😭
What Child?
I used to play this with my dad all the time when I was little! I think we remember "JUMpy JUMPY JUMP!!" most of all.
OMG I finally know what it says, I speak Spanish xD
I've just watched all five and a half hours of this and now I don't know what to do with my life
Get a ps1 or ps2 and get this game :). It's also available on the playstation store!
@@RunplaysinHD This has to be the most caveman shit I have ever seen.
I didn't even know they made a game! This is the earliest movie that I can remember watching. Back in the good old days when movies and shows were actually good.
OMG That kid with the llama bike? HATED. HIM. I remember playing that river level one sunday morning before I had eaten breakfast and I ended up getting so mad I started shaking
Yeah especially when u had to race him. Was such a pain.
Thou that water level was the worst and that ride with the big guy in the catacombs i think it had me stuck for a long time
Same fucking feeling x_x
That kid is a brat
You need to leave him alohwn.
The water level was hard af. Omg I hated that kid lol
Man.. watching those PS1 long plays, makes me feel so nostalgic, good old days, love them so much!
Yeah my fav is the crash bandicoot warped one cuz the nostalgia is just BOOM right there
X1Photon I still have a PS1
I'm literally smiling and crying at the same time. On my 6th birthday, my parents had gifted me a PS1 and this was one of the games they got for me. But as a kid I was getting sooo annoyed and aggressive when I failed in a game :D So my dad and uncle were playing the games for me and I was watching. This game was one of my favorites, I always enjoyed its music :D This video is a pure nostalgia for me. Thanks 💙
I really loved the Incan/mesoamerican atmosphere in this game.
It's weird that something like that isn't really done too much in games, let alone it being done fairly well in a licensed game.
I know right? I actually sometimes wish the player would just pan out to the background and listen to the music and drink in the atmosphere
Guacamelee also excels at this i think
1:08:15 The memories of me and my sister playing this part over and over hit me like a rock
I respect the amount of work and attempts that go into making these videos. You are both admired and appreciated.
I'm 200% sure they need to remake this one.
I'm curious on starting a New Groove project in Dreams on ps4 will you like me to keep you posted?
@@samg8365 yes! How is it going?
Emperor's Groove Rehydrated lol
@@samg8365Any news?
Among all disney ports like hercules, toy story 2, tarzan and so on this one i enjoyed the most on ps1. I was particularly impressed with the humor, atmosphere and OST of this game. Even after so many years it still impressive. .
Does anyone else who owned this game back then have a feeling of nostalgia flooding back into their head while watching this playthrough?
10:31 After Pacha walks away he goes inside of the hut. Funny thing, that's not HIS hut. His hut is the one in top of the hill. Very funny video game logic.
Maybe he went to see a friend 😂
I remember killing every single bunny when I was a kid, I just loved how you could make them fly away!!!
The OST is soooo good! Really suits the gameplay for each part of the world 🙌
all in the comment section have gamers and anime fans commenting on this game.
Last night April 13th 2021, I finally beat this game 20 years after buying it with my birthday money at Kmart.
As a kid I got stuck on the last level and eventually lost my data. I’ve been home with an injured foot the last few days so I finally sat down and played it start to finish.
Seeing the end scene for the first time after all these years actually gave me a buzz. It was a glorious day.
Once struggling with the panther chase scene - literally all night - finally beat it and had to deep sleep all day to finally recover from it
I used to love this game. The cheetah chase button mash was hard lol
The nostalgia is heavy with this one
Let the nostalgia flow trough you
lol yeah
One of my favorite play station games when I was 13 in 2001
One of the best 3D platformers based on a movie.
This game gives me great nostalgia. I had it and I played it a lot.
Right in the childhood!
Outta my way! Llama comin' through!
Tear
telling about this game have led to disney teenage gamers playing this game
This lilo and stitch and toy story were really good.
I live for the sassy Kuzco commentary 😍
this game is a hidden gem
How much I adored instantly the music of some levels. I regret so much not having passed the whole game.
A pleasant surprise. While not a groundbreaker, or a technical marvel this game did what it set out to do quite well.
Oh man. I remember playing this to death on the PS1 Demo disk. Good times.
Rip
Same lol
That "Follow Pacha" level still gets me crept out!
I remember playing this so many times as a kid and raging so much. Have to buy this again now 😂
just emulate it man
+Flame of Udun Can you give me some tips how to emulate?
Pedro Granja download the emulator and bios files and then download the rom files for the games from websites. It's not rocket science man lol
Flame of Udun For someone who doesn't really know how to use a PC it is, trust me. Thanks for the tips!
God, I remember being stuck on the jaguar chase level for ages as a kid.
I loved this game so much. I still have it for PC.
LOL water hurts llama's on 4:41. I better stay away from water too.
1:12:45 5:08:19 I always crack up when Kuzco says “Yum yum!” 😂
Wow this is so weird, I played this game at some point growing up, I have no idea when, but I remember it somewhere deep in my memory. I remember chasing that kid sucked but I also remember being so immersed that I thought these levels were HUGE! and I never noticed how rough the graphics and FPS are lol
1:57:30 this area was so hard lol. and the cheetahs chasing you , i had to ask my dad to help me to also mash the buttons
I fucking hated the jaguar chase level - I almost broke my keyboard because of it.
+Tokarief I'm almost broke my controller at that part when I was a kid. I would rage quit so many times in that level. :V I eventually made it pass the damn thing though.
True history,save states FTW haha
I came here because I remembered that that's where I stopped playing as a kid. I couldn't get past it
As a kid I lost my tooth and I wrote a note to the tooth fairy asking if he/she could try to finish the level for me because I could not pass it.
Im glad I wasnt the only one that hated that part.
Some of my most cherished childhood memories. good game indeed.
17:42 United States Marine readies his M40 at an Iraqi civilian child for the crime of possessing a weapon of mass destruction (Baghdad, December 1990, colorized).
Y’know what I love about the game
Is how it looks sorta like the same gameplay as Croc with the level designs and such, but at the same time like toy story 2 game with movie
Cutscenes
Why this game is so underrated is simply mind-boggling... This game is simply the pinnacle of quality and its musical game score...
Also, (fun fact), this game actually shares the same game engine as Aladdin in Nasiras Revenge - that's why they both kinda "feel" the same... mechanics, artistic design, physics etc. especially noticeable in the dark "scary" levels of both game. Notice how the dark levels have that same shade of purple and how the "black curtain" warps around the corners when you view certain scenes... For instance look at the catacombs level and compare it to the dungeon levels from Aladdin - you'll notice a lot of similarities.
loads of people will be saying this but this was my most favourite game from my childhood and brings back memories :)
4:14:11 was the bane of my existence. The very first time you're reversed stumped me every time. It's like my 9 year old brain simply could grasp the concept of reversed controls to flick right to go left, left to go r is go right and ALWAYS found myself careening off the sides no matter how hard i tried. Probably the first game to frustrate me to to the point of crying that I couldn't beat.
What's worse is that after watching this long play I was damn near at the end of the game!
I loooooved this (and the very first) Catacoaster levels, so much fun!!!
5 hours long? HOWW when i was a child it took me days
It’s the guy who played Kuzco in the tv series. What a coincidence
You mean the same voice actor?
I remember the demo for this game had both the first level and the part where you ride the 'roller coaster.'
Looking back, it's kind of weird that they decided to include one of the last levels of the game in the demo, especially since it was a pretty fun level that you only play once.
31:43 "S stop followin me"
those purple grape berries what a flashback
For a game based off of a movie this was really good for its time.
This game was so difficult when I was 5 lmao
Anna I remember beating it at that age. Ending was an FMV of the ending of the film which was really damn cool to see
Ah the memories 🥹
I'm here cause I'm not able to finished this when I was young.
Such good memories my siblings and I played this when it first came out
It's my WUMPY!
X3
Childish for an emperor
Jacob5664 that's his character...
the only thing i remember about this game was the “help meee” at 38:00
thank you for posting this!
The river level always was so much fun
Dude I remember playing this as a child and it being super hard. I never beat it unfortunately but now's the time 23 years later lol. The nostalgia is hitting hard watching this video for sure
Cast:
J.P. Manoux as Kuzco
John Goodman (cutscene) & Bill Farmer (gameplay) as Pacha
Eartha Kitt as Yzma
Patrick Warburton as Kronk
Brian Rumbaoa nice, so we have Goofy voicing Pacha.
That's actually Brian Cummings, he's John Goodman's voice match.
Jim Cummings has a brother!?
@@LaineMann no, there friends.
I remember playing this game long ago yet some of the levels pissed me off. XD
TheShaggyBeast almost broke my keyboard on the chase stage

I had a dream about this and remembered something like this as a kid, I actually thought it was fake, so I looked it up. I also remember playing it for days as a kid.
I love how we get the movie clip with John Goodman and David Spade then the game begins and it's clearly not John Goodman and David Spade
My dentist when I was in first grade had a little gaming booth in the kids waiting area. I distinctly remember playing this every time I went
Holy nostalgia. Thank you!!
Ahh, my sweet sweet childhood. This and Tomb Raider 🥴💛
i don't think i ever got past the jungle level , i was like 5-6 those timed doors were too hard
Why I never knew the existence of this game!? I had 200 PS1 games in my CD holder and I never had it! :(
Oh, thanks for the longplay! It was an awesome game.
I miss this game, I got so far and beat it then my sisters deleted the memory card file XO
AW man, blast from the past.
4:22:14 scary as hell still today from the childhood
I think this is what I miss about Disney games. I mean Disney Infinity is great and all but I find it a little sad that instead of making some kind of game based around the new movie, they instead get a figurine in Infinity. I feel as if it would be more fun to play an actual game of the newest movie then just simpily buy a toy and play as a character from that movie in an all-around game.
I agree. Although now there's no Disney Infinity either haha.
Men this takes me back I used to this Game all the time when I was a kid 😍
same
same..😤😤 time flies
I ALWAYS WANTED THIS GAME!!!
excelente juego. Me encanta la música, y el ambiente es hermoso. Muy buena jugabilidad

Yeah, the computer version didn't tell me what the jump button was. Six-year-old me was so confused.
28:14 is comedy gold
The following mission in the beginning reminds me of the part in spyro 2 where you had to follow that secret agent guy lol
I loved this game when I was a kid, I never owned the game myself back then but I remember playing it nonstop on my older cousin’s PS1 years ago
Game looks fun just wish Spade would have carried his voice over to voice Kuzco like how Tim Allen did Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 2 or something
You think that the graphics are terrible for your information I think it's really good of what they did
