Out of all things, a simple video game brings everything flooding back about my childhood. All the freedom, no worries, no self consciousness, no depression in general. If only there was some way I could watch back all of my childhood. Just that would help me get through the day better.
Watching back your childhood would bring back lots of bad memories and psychological trauma, some of them you have blocked for your sanity's sake. Maybe you were abused and just can't remember. Be careful about what you wish for.
Negrostrike True, I've read that we only tend to think of the good times in the past when there may have been many troubling and upsetting experiences. Still, I acknowledge this and would still like my wish lol.
ismael samhan Very true. But still I think it's great that there are so many 90's kids who share that exact wish, and that same flood of emotions going back in time like this. Just know that you're not alone :)
Mine too. I FOUND IT!!!! I remember playing this in my school computer lab circa 2011-2012 on either 3rd or 4th grade in elementary school, but never getting past the first boss. (I don't remember its name, however.) Oh, and I was the one who got the farthest in my class.
I remember playing this, but not in 2007. It was on either 2011 or 2012, when I was on 3rd or 4th grade. The farthest I went was that damn minotaur boss. (and possibly the farthest my ENTIRE class went.)
+Zuwevu When I was at elementary school, it was on all of the computers in school, our teachers just loved this game. We even had optional afternoon class, where we were beating best times with teacher :D Few years after an internet came to the school, so it evolved into Age of Empires I LAN party. Nobody ever won over our teacher, he was too badass :D Still remember that he had 30 copies of that game in big cd case :D
I played this game when I was like 3. 12 years later and it's the farthest I can go back in my memory banks. Those were the good days. This game was phenomenal.
Me too, but when I was like 8-9 years old in elementary school. 6-7 years later, and the farthest I went was the first boss, (I don't remember its name, however) which is also the farthest my class went.
OMG THAT IS PURE NOSTALGIA, this is my fav game from my childhood and I watched this gameplay excited like watching a movie at cinema hahahahaha so cool
So great to see the full game, with the movie clips and soundtrack! I always got to play the PC version only, and the Titan Flight was ridiculously hard I remember, haha. Good old memories... thank you! :)
I had this Game when I was in first grade. Could never kill the final boss on the 3rd level. I couldn't comprehend jumping on his back. There wasn't gaming guides back then like there are today. So I honestly never made it past that level. That didn't stop me from playing every day after school though! :)
I also played this game in the school lab on third-fourth grade circa 2012, and also could never kill that boss either, and I never made it past that level too and also my entire class to be honest could never get past that.
Same hahaha I hate him! I tried so many times but I couldn't kill him. :( Passing levels without help of internet or magazines was so complicated back then.
The diversity, effects and cinematics (when w take into account that this is an ANCIENT game) are things current game developers can learn a lot from I think.
You don't need to throw blocks if you didn't feel like it... Just stomp on the stairs 4 times and with fourth stomp a block will fall on Minotaur's head from above...
I remember this being my first video game ever. My dad owned a PS1 and had never allowed me to play it, rather just watch him play. But one day my parents came back home with a copy of Disney's Hercules as a gift for me. Suffice to say I've been a gamer ever since.
This was also my first game , got the ps1 In 97 with Hercules Iwas 5 or just turned 6 .. so many nice memories, I also played the shit out of the demo disc
Just got 'Hercules' on PSP this week! Remember my friends playing it in respite care years ago when it had a PlayStation. I always loved the first level. Great sharing EpicRickyC!
This game was my favourite game in its time! I played all of the Sega consoles and Nintendo consoles before it but this game ultimately sums up my childhood. I downloaded an emulator recently for ps1 games and downloaded Hercules too. I’m gonna run it and play for old times sake!!!
I love those moments when the game flips the bird at you when you loss all your lives or just die in a game. Two games that come to mind when that happens are this and the Arkham games.
I had massive nostalgia watching this, I remember I used to play hercules, tarzan and peter pan when i was like 5. Good old times when everything was simpler.
Oh man, I remember keeping a note of the passwords inside the CD case. My ma, me, and my bro played this game to back and forth, with Tarzan, Herc's Adventure, and Rayman as well. Man, those were the good days.
Ah the childhood memories. I remember this was one of the first game I played when I had my first PC back in 2005 maybe. I hated the pegasus level with the titans so much... It was the hardest level for me. I died a disgusting amount of times.
The environment of first level just awesome bring the calm of sunny day and also made me remember of Tom and Jerry the game and also pacman advanture ahhh my childhood.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Hercules was, is and will always be my Favourite of all Disney's animated characters!!!! "Should HERCULES fight, you will fail"- This quote gives me the chills :D LOVE LOVE LOVE this game
At first glance it looks like a fairly well put together platform game in the vein of Disney's alladin but with a few nice 3D elements thrown into the mix.
i remember playing the demo quite quite a bit, think it came with the playstation in 97, then i got the full game but don't remember getting past the flying level. 20 years ago...
Unfortunetly years pass fast besides as human beeings and we wake up one day not being the Kids we were before when we were little with no wories and you want to feel that sentiment of Joy and happiness but that is how life is unfair sometimes but its important to not lose the child that lives in your heart. Iwish you only good thoughs .
I played it for some weeks ago again and completed it. I will made some videos from this game when my broken laptop is back home again. :) Don't miss that!
I also remember that, too. I played it in the school computer lab circa 2011, and never getting past the first boss when I was on third grade, my entire class also never getting past that one boss early on and the soda thingy you could drink to replenish health.
luved this game growing up :]] i remember my bros and i played this game together and we would take turns, it took us FOREVER to figure out how to beat medusa XDD so nostalgic
I haven't played this game in so many years, the other night I had a dream that I jumped in the air and had to break the floor with a crack in it and it made me think of this game, nostalgia all around!
Oh my god, can't believe I found this. My childhood friend used to have this game and I was fucking obsessed with it, I always wanted to go to her house to play it.
Every time I see the seen in the movie with Hercules fighting the hydra, I HAVE to facepalm. If you cut off one hydra's head, 2 more grow back in its place! In the actual Greek myth, Hercules was smart, and burned the stumps of each hydra head once it was cut off, BEFORE it could ever grow back! A little thing we call in this modern time, "cauterizing".
I loved that lady that ran around with the rain following her! So many funny characters in that city :) But my fave level must've been the Pegasus one.
no, it's not the 'gospel truth', this is an instrumental part after each level and it seems to me this is 'zero to hero' but it sounds a bit different than the standard instrumental version, i dont know...
I remember how me and my brother and sister used to play this game loved it ......Don't know how the games before were better then today games .....like lilo & stitch, barbie explorer games were better then today's mobile game's
I went to India last summer to visit some of my relatives and my little cousin (he's like 8 or 9) goes onto his PC and starts playing this game. Now that was an awesome sight. I thought the incoming generation would have all but forgot about this game.
GREAT memories. I was always afraid of that ugly Hydra. one of the best games of the entire history. and the Disney's Hercules is the best super hero movie of all time if u ask me.
Oh my days... I remember I was 8 when I was playing this and Tarzan. Hell they were difficult but fun

Same, when I was 8

Out of all things, a simple video game brings everything flooding back about my childhood. All the freedom, no worries, no self consciousness, no depression in general. If only there was some way I could watch back all of my childhood. Just that would help me get through the day better.
I know how you feel..
Watching back your childhood would bring back lots of bad memories and psychological trauma, some of them you have blocked for your sanity's sake. Maybe you were abused and just can't remember. Be careful about what you wish for.

My childhood !!! :)

I remember playing this when i was 4, in 2000-2001
So many of these Disney games from the 90s deserve the Ducktales Remastered treatment.
first game I ever played when I was 7 years old. This game will always be something special to me.
My first ever PS1 game. Major, major nostalgia...
Zuwevu Mine too man :]
+Zuwevu When I was at elementary school, it was on all of the computers in school, our teachers just loved this game. We even had optional afternoon class, where we were beating best times with teacher :D
Few years after an internet came to the school, so it evolved into Age of Empires I LAN party. Nobody ever won over our teacher, he was too badass :D Still remember that he had 30 copies of that game in big cd case :D
+Krivulda That sounds fabulous! :D
Zuwevu It really was :D
This was my fav game as a child! Feeling so nostalgic :')
So many Memories :'(
That Hydra fight was one of the coolest things I had ever seen in a game.
I used to play it with my brother back in 2002 when I was 6 years old. Seems like it was yesterday. Good old times. So much nostalgia.
I was also like 4 when i played this game
Used to play this game all the time as a child. Never could get past the Pegasus level though!
OMG WANT TO CRY! CHILDHOOD :(

you played your first game at 12 years old? holy christ.
me too my first video game
I remember playing this and Tarzan... Disney's games were good...
I used to play this game on Playstation when I was around 4 years old! So nostalgic! I still have the game today! ^^
So great to see the full game, with the movie clips and soundtrack! I always got to play the PC version only, and the Titan Flight was ridiculously hard I remember, haha. Good old memories... thank you! :)

Me neither. I always raged.
never completed this as a child
I remember playing this game.
I always died when I reached the Minotaur level.
Ahhhh,good old memories
Most of us never beat Minotaur
yep same case here
My problem was always the cyclops race it was not till later that I figured it out ( always fell in the explosive floor)
I finished him like 2 weks after play 😂
Me too...i've never finished the game for this problem ahahahah.
Used to play this game a lot with my cousins back in 2006. I'm 15 now, and I'd love to play it once again!
The diversity, effects and cinematics (when w take into account that this is an ANCIENT game) are things current game developers can learn a lot from I think.
25:30 10 years later I realize how to pass this level... damn!
LOL, I remember being stuck there as a kid, too. It only took 20 tries to figure it out, lol.
I was stuck there as a child as well
Sammmmee
Lol
Yea
The Big Olive is still my favorite level. the most memorable part is throwing the blocks at the bull on the stairs it has the best music that level
+Liam Tweedie for sure, the best song the best level!!
This was my favourite too, and with the passwords you could just skip straight to it!

This was also my first game , got the ps1 In 97 with Hercules Iwas 5 or just turned 6 .. so many nice memories, I also played the shit out of the demo disc
Recently revisited old ps1 games, nothing beats this childhood masterpiece
The Tarzan on PS1 was awesome too

Never knew this game existed but it looks SO GOOD. Multiple background layers you can walk to and platform on? Sick!
Those graphics are just amazing
We used to get the magazines from the market each week for 99p. They had new demo discs every week with about 7 games on. Had so many of them
the feels man .. brings back so many memories :(
IKR :(
Oh man, I remember keeping a note of the passwords inside the CD case. My ma, me, and my bro played this game to back and forth, with Tarzan, Herc's Adventure, and Rayman as well. Man, those were the good days.

Keep your head up and claim what you want!
Unfortunetly years pass fast besides as human beeings and we wake up one day not being the Kids we were before when we were little with no wories and you want to feel that sentiment of Joy and happiness but that is how life is unfair sometimes but its important to not lose the child that lives in your heart. I also remember that, too. I played it in the school computer lab circa 2011, and never getting past the first boss when I was on third grade, my entire class also never getting past that one boss early on and the soda thingy you could drink to replenish health.

the art style and graphics were really ahead of its times...it still look solid.
I remember how satisfying it was to kill those crows with the lightning sword, i wonder if i still have this game?
The game that started an entire generation into childhood.
It was iolaus his nephew that cauterized the head qnd Hercules buried it under a pile of rocks.
I just replayed this game but I didnt remember this game being this short.
Was my fav ps1 game ever played it over and over again
this was the shit back when I was like 7

I loved that lady that ran around with the rain following her! So many funny characters in that city :) But my fave level must've been the Pegasus one.
no, it's not the 'gospel truth', this is an instrumental part after each level and it seems to me this is 'zero to hero' but it sounds a bit different than the standard instrumental version, i dont know...
It took me so long to defeat the Centaur because I never knew I could sidestep at first hahaha

I went to India last summer to visit some of my relatives and my little cousin (he's like 8 or 9) goes onto his PC and starts playing this game. Now that was an awesome sight. I thought the incoming generation would have all but forgot about this game.
Lol, this was the very first game on my PC. Oh, the memories...

I used to play the game when I was a kid xD childhood memories :))
