spyro was the first real game I ever played. After buying and playing it from the psn store the memories came back hitting me like a ton of bricks, all the bad ones and all the good ones. I cried thinking back to the first time playing this game when I was but a child. roaming the artisians world figuring it all out, how to play video games. to this day I thank spyro for what it brought me as a kid its why I continued getting the next generations of playstation.
Would be great if games these days would give us those same feelings as the older games did. Zelda, Spyro. Final Fantasy, Super Mario, Twisted Metal. There just isnt anymore games that give us that "i could cry right now from all the nostalgia" feeling. Games just arent that good anymore.

I remember the controller used to vibrate when you freed a dragon too! I'm only 30 mins into this walkthrough, but it's all coming back to me!
My favorite game in the world. First game I played as a really young child. The soundtracks are amazing. I still play this game today, but I never got to the ending. For some reason I couldn't collect jewels anymore, and near the ending with those final portals, they were glitched. I couldn't get in them. I couldn't even travel to other worlds in the ballon. Did anyone else face a similar problem? I don't know why it glitched like that, but I never could actually finish the game which is truly upsetting. But I got to see it here. Anyways, thank you very much for uploading this! This game holds a strong place in my heart.

I bought (well, my parents did) PS1 in the late '98 or early '99, can't remember exactly and in the same package I got Resident Evil 2, Fifa 99 and Spyro the Dragon. It was like entering a new era of my life. Previously I played Sega Mega Drive 2 and coming from 16-bit world into the 32-bit was really something. PS1 will always be my number 1 console and that late 90s and early 2000s era best one ever when it comes to gaming. First 3 Spyro the Dragon games, Resident Evil 2 & 3 (never got to playing first one), Tomb Raider series (1-4), Chrono Cross, Silent Hill 1 & 2 and many more. Needless to say, I greatly miss these games, there is something about them that's lost in modern ones, a soul, creativity, whatever you call it.

I'm 23 now so I had to have been 3 or 4 when this came out but believe me I've played it, I've always been alright at game's and Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot are the reasons why. I wish they would do something more serious with Spyro again for this generation of gaming, something that has a balance of the old features that made it great, and new features that would just expand that into something it was incapable of being before. I don't think they fully realize just how popular a game like that would be.

I love to see how on these old games we had to think and discover every step to keep going on... the games of today, theres always an arrow pointing you what you have to do or somekind of text telling you what to do everytime. Those games like Spyro or crash were amazing just because you play as free you want to play and make you think how you want to make your history or what path to follow. To be fair most of Spiro’s dialogue was basically “uh, oh ok whatever”when he would be told secrets and tips from the older dragons even in the beginning which is SUPPOSED to be like a tutorial lol Maybe they just thought he was a bit of a punk and didn’t warn to swallow their pride and admit he helped especially since most of them seem pretty self-important and boastful despite just being helpless as a statue or frozen or whatever they are. Tho they don’t seem very concerned about being frozen or saved or who did it so who knows what the hidden political agendas of Spiro’s world are conspiring haha
Mspark400 Smith my favorite is one in Beast Makers where the dragon talks about how beautiful the swamp was and Spyro's just like "Yeah, I'm sure it was" and there's this stunned silence before he disappears.
The high caves level is the one of the only things I remember from playing this game so long ago when I was about 4ish. It's been so long but I can remember the entire level in detail and remember some of the things I did on that level. I spent about 4 hours just playing around on it with all the speed slopes and stuff like that having fun flying around. Kinda sucks what they did with this game turning it into a gritty action game rather than the cutesy light hearted game it used to be. SPYRO is the pinnacle of gamings simplicity and quality.

I made a D&D campaign based off of Spyro the Dragon where all my players got to be juvenile dragons. I had an adventure based off of each of the levels in this game. The players all had a blast: my best campaign to date. :)

I loved playing this when I was younger with my sister! This and spyro year of the dragon too!! Brilliant I miss this game!

3:27:05, the stuggle to get that dragon! i had done everything in the game but used so much time locating that dragon that i got realy annoyed. fantastic game, one of my best childhood games together with Saturn bomberman.
I love Spyro. Especially, The New Beginning, Eternal Night, and Dawn of the Dragon.
Rescued dragons and none of them bother to help you. Lol I know its just a game but I always wondered where they went after rescue.

To be fair most of Spiro’s dialogue was basically “uh, oh ok whatever”when he would be told secrets and tips from the older dragons even in the beginning which is SUPPOSED to be like a tutorial lol Maybe they just thought he was a bit of a punk and didn’t warn to swallow their pride and admit he helped especially since most of them seem pretty self-important and boastful despite just being helpless as a statue or frozen or whatever they are. Tho they don’t seem very concerned about being frozen or saved or who did it so who knows what the hidden political agendas of Spiro’s world are conspiring haha
Mspark400 Smith my favorite is one in Beast Makers where the dragon talks about how beautiful the swamp was and Spyro's just like "Yeah, I'm sure it was" and there's this stunned silence before he disappears.

The high caves level is the one of the only things I remember from playing this game so long ago when I was about 4ish. It's been so long but I can remember the entire level in detail and remember some of the things I did on that level. I spent about 4 hours just playing around on it with all the speed slopes and stuff like that having fun flying around. Kinda sucks what they did with this game turning it into a gritty action game rather than the cutesy light hearted game it used to be. SPYRO is the pinnacle of gamings simplicity and quality.
From watching this only makes me feel like a kid again. I even remember watching my brothers play it when I was in kindergarten.

holy shit you aren't Kidding I played the hell out of this game back when it first came out took me 2 months and the help of the somewhat new internet that was becoming popular back in 1997 98 Now Im thinkin Back on this game and the years and I have noticed that time does somewhat pass on By but at the same time seems so long ago :P

I made a D&D campaign based off of Spyro the Dragon where all my players got to be juvenile dragons. I had an adventure based off of each of the levels in this game. The players all had a blast: my best campaign to date. :)
