  • The H&H compress gauze makes a great addition to your ifak or trauma kit. The compress gauze is used to pack into a wound and help control major bleeding.

    Thank you SO much for your videos. I went to my local EMTs for information on stopping bleeding on my thin-skinned 90yrold husband, who occasionally has accidentally ripped his skin open, with copious bleeding. What they taught me about pressure bandages became important when he ripped his shin open on a step edge on a trip. I became the first responder with an equipped First Aid kit for this purpose. Being prepared paid off. The hospital ER said my bandage was just right. Keep informing us. We're not professionals but you never know!

    Great video. I think the H&H compressed gauze is *the* way to go if you want gauze in your IFAK. It is basically a roll of Kerlix compressed.

    Awesome video. Ever since I started creating my medical kits I've been wondering what those gauze looked like when you opened them. THANKS!

    Also important to know if its z fold or rolled. Never thought twice about it until i was treating a gunshot victim a few days ago and couldnt figure out why it wouldnt open. Ended up just smashing the whole thing over the wound (gsw near inner left collar bone) while i cut his shirt off to find the other wounds.

    Great video. Are regular conforming gauze bandages made from the same material as the H&M compressed gauze? And do they have the same effectiveness?

    could tegaderm or duoderm be used as a chest seal? it's a thick moleskin that comes packaged and sterile and is about the same size as a chest seal. thoughts?

    Would the quick clot sponge work better?

    • @packletackle9047
      @packletackle9047 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but you can only apply them to the arms and legs if you pack it in someones chest you could kill them

    • @beppegallagher
      @beppegallagher 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, there are no clinical studies that show that haemostatic gauze performs better than a standard gauze. The ones that says the opposite are biased since are sponsored by the same companies. Just have a look at it by yourself.

    I think Combat Gauze is better. Price vs dying... that $40 is money well spent!

      There are NO clinical studies that show that an haemostatic gauze performs better than a standard gauze. The ones you find are biased since are sponsored by the same companies. Just check it out and see by yourself. Moreover haemostasis gauzes have poor shelf-life compared to standard gauzes that can be used also once "expired".
