The best controller for Cubase 12 - after the production of the Steinberg CC121 has ceased - for me is the PreSonus FaderPort V2 (one fader) together with the new version (08.08.2023) of the midi remote script written by Werner Mairegger with the extensions written by Christian Oestmann. The new version of this script can be found in the Cubase Steinberg Forum under the topic "PreSonus FaderPort 2 (2018) midi remote script".

Very comprehensive video, congrats! I have a question andI hope you can solve it. I use Logic Pro X as my DAW and I bought the Presonus Faderport 2 mainly for automation purposes. Now, every time I want to use it to write my Expression (or other features either on 'region' or 'track') it switches automatically to 'Volume' the moment I merely touch the fader. Is there a prob with my setup? Thanks.
It's the same here. I must tell you that I use my MIDI keyboard pitch and modulation controllers to write automation, seems like Faderport is limited to control Volume with fader and Pan with the Scroll.
Kinda struggeld between this and behringer x touch. Do you have any opinions? It seems like x touch has more buttons and a bigger jogging wheel which might be helpful, and it also has mini oled screen too.
I personally don’t like Behringer products. I used some of their gear in similar price range and I think they lacked quality. That being said, I didn’t take X Touch as a serious rival here.

Do you find the wheel useful to actually navigate throughout the track? Or do you think it's just for panning. It looks like there are clicks when you turn the wheel on fader port.

There are quick punch in and auto punch modes in Logic. Quick punch allows you to start recording during playback and auto punch predefines specific boundaries within the project and records only there.

Very useful and portable . But It doesn’t work on protool’s native pluggings.

However we have Behringer Powerplays in studio and they work fine. I guess it’s my personal preference.

Thanks! I do have M1 Mac Mini and I haven’t downloaded any additional software. Fader port just runs plug and play with Logic.

What about the flip function to control sends with the fader?
Haven’t used that function, but as far as I saw on the forums mamy people was requesting to add it. V-Control Pro seems to be a remedy for it.
