Hi Mick. Indonesian government increased the price for temples and some other establishments, to weed off too many bad people. Many people vandalize the temples, desecrating it, and destroying the temple. The preferred ways are school study tour, and tour groups. That way, they hope someone would watch over you, namely the tour guides and your friends. If you pay higher price, it means that you know its value, and are willing to keep it stay in good condition.
It is a bad joke.

Locals are also protesting the high price. And I think the government has decreased the price.

You mention about volcano. You should climb Mt Salak. But its on the west side (Bogor & Sukabumi), near Jakarta. It has a lil bit Russia history, the Sukhoi crash in 2012, and there was joint operation (Indonesia-Russia) Indonesia with Basarnas, TNI, Police and volunteer and Russia i think with Emercom or Russian army, idk. The crash site still there with a sign "Lembah Sukhoi" (Sukhoi Valley). So i think it would be great if you climb Salak, there's a saying "if you climb Salak and make it to the top, then you could climb all of the Indonesian mountains".
I went to Prambanan Temple back in 2015/2016. Back then you can enter the temple and I was very fortunate to see the massive statue inside. It was probably a once in a life time experience for me.

It's amazing how much you know about indonesian food while there are literally a lot of foods in indonesia. It shows how you spent your time to research first before making the video. But regardless, indonesian are good people, hope that it will not ruin your experiences in our country. 😊

I am a resident of Central Java in Magelang, 42 km northwest of Yogyakarta. The Javanese look the same, but actually have so many different styles of language, cuisine, and so on in each region. On the island of Java, especially Central Java, Yogyakarta and East Java, there are many ancient temple building sites. Cultural greetings from the circle area 10 km from Borobudur temple.

I fallin in love with Bogor and Bandung, there are so many curug (little waterfall) in there... A beautiful place, cold place, so many mountain too.. And there a myth curug was a like public bath for king in their myth 😅

Horse carriage is traditional transportation in yogya used by royal family of keraton yogyakarta. You can rent it to travel around malioboro. Usually they will take you to some shops. If you buy something, then the drive will get incentive from the shops.
Actually keraton yogya is open for tourists. Well i dont know whether you've visited it or not. But it worth visiting if you like history. Besides keraton there are some other tourists spot close to keraton. One of them is like a swimming pool used by princess in the history.
