- Welcome to our tutorial on how to ride motorcycles.
The vast majority of bikes ride and handle in the exact way as shown in this video.
We hope this helps you out when you first start learning to ride.
Thanks for watching!
this is genuinely so helpful. my dad was trying to teach me and was just yelling when i struggled and kept stalling 😂
I watched your videos before my cbt test, i had never riden a motorbike before. They were super impressed about my clutch control, and I owe that to this video 100%! Thank you, I passed thanks to you man
The foot cam was a massive help. i see alot of videos on how to shift up, but not alot on appropriate down shifting when slowing down / coming to junctions or a complete stop. Many thanks!
This is a great video. You’ve helped me very much. I failed my CBT but now I will practice what was taught here to build my confidence. Thanks man.
It's not possible to fail your CBT it's not even a passible course so not sure how you did that?
@@elixier33you can’t technically ‘fail’ but you can’t not be awarded the certificate so it’s basically a pass or fail
@@callanhunt877 I was terrible with my CBT I could barely even balance the bike I couldn't work the gas and honestly I was horrendous I even crashed to the fence and all they did was made me come back the next day and do it again and they gave me a certificate. Fisher technically be impossible to fail I was probably the worst there I don't think anyone saw anyone is bad as me and honestly I got through it I don't know how but I did and I shouldn't have but I did.
Ditto, Top video especially with POV camera 🖖🏾🏆
@@elixier33"not possible to fail" then "not even a passible course" ..two completely contradictory statements opposite of each other, confusion x infinity
Thank you. As someone who is a complete novice on motorcycles this is an excellent video. I feel more confident merely watching this video lol
You are the only one showing footwork... bless you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought my first bike and face planted on th3 first try and damaged my bike, so I'm putting my trust on you Sir...❤
We all drop the bike at least once.
Learn from it and keep going!
This video by far is the best, just with you explaining that you can get the bike going without giving it gas is awesomen being able to shift to 2nd from 1st without gas is greatni been watching videos for weeks now and no one explains it better then his guy.
I agree , very well explained and answered some of my questions too
These are great videos my friend. Im 40 and havent riden since i was a kid. What a great refresher. I couldnt remember which side was the brake and which were the gears lol
The kill switch doesn't cut off the battery from the bike, it stops ignition but it doesn't cut the battery off since your lights and everything still work. In case of an accident if you kill switch, you'll be visible but the engine is off.
22:57 I didn't even know it was possible to do that with a bike 😂
Great vid! Maybe worth mentioning that some bikes stall when you put them I to 2nd gear if you're not going fast enough. Yamaha's ys125's for example, you'll need to be driving about 10 mph before shifting into second. :)
A Kawasaki won't stall out but she definitely isn't happy.
got to be the best video by far for basics very helpful thank you for uploading this video
i did my first attempt of a cbt yesterday, i really shouldve watched this video before. i didnt pass as i was brand new to all of it and really struggled with right turns. hopefully i pass next time
Good luck next time! I'm taking mine this week!!
You don't really _have to_ engine brake on a big bike either. In fact the advanced riding stuff I'm reading rn recommends that you don't purposely downshift to do that (they also recommend using your discretion at all times lol). But you *can* and it'll do a lot more on a big bike than it would on a 125.
I ride a gold wing and sure for breaking I will shift down but for a 125 there is absolutely no point at all.
@@elixier33 I'm still in my naked crotch rocket phase, but I would LOVE to try a Goldwing at some point.
Thanks for the video, you helped me a lot. New rider here.
Nice video! Probably no need for a pt2 like I had to do!! lol 🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿
So when im aproaching a stop, I can just brake and clutch in from let say gear 4 to 1 without the need to release the clutch once? Not clutch in and out every gear from 4 to 1?
Correct
Thanks for the amazing video but I have a question do we have to change the gear or is up to you
Amazing Video" 🙂
11:19 im confused. why would the bike stall at this moment when letting go of clutch on 1st gear but not when you let it go in the beggining on 1st gear to ride around with no throttle?
how tall are you and the rider of the kawasaki if you dont mind me asking
big thanks!!!
Is it worth buying?
I need some help. I am pretty new and I only have one problem. The problem is downshifting. When I downshift it feels and sounds as if something is grinding. What are the possible mistakes I am doing?
either not pulling the clutch in fully, or not pushing your gear lever down far enough when you downshift. you most likely are only getting the lever 90% of the way, so the gears will grind until they move themselves into the correct gear.
Am 5”1 and I have a lexmoto assault does anyone have any steps on how I can deal with the weight when I can only use 1 foot
How tall are you?
where do you find 125 kawasaki iv been looking and cant find it no more
Auto trader
What movie is that rpg spider scene from?
Starship Troopers I believe
So In shifting gears down as a novice, you just hold on the clutch and shift down the gears and then let go of the clutch and that’s it the bike will be fine ?
Yeah that's it, here's a more detailed run down:
Stopping - If you're coming to a stop, start applying the brakes (Left hand + Right foot), then pull in the clutch lever, as you slow the bike, start hitting the gear lever down to 1st gear (Left foot), and hold the clutch lever in. In order to let go of the clutch lever at a stop, lift the gear lever half way between 1st and second gear to put the bike in neutral, then you can let go of the clutch without the bike stalling.
Pulling off - If your about to pull away from a stop, pull in clutch, press down on the gear lever for 1st gear, then gently let go of the clutch until the bike starts pulling forward, then add a little throttle (left hand) to start accelerating. Then to up shift, let go of throttle, pull in clutch lever, then shift the gear lever up all the way past neutral to second, let go of the clutch lever, and use throttle to go faster. You can apply the same technique for the rest of the gears, however if you're just starting off, just try getting used to 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears, as you can use all three going less than 20mph. I hope that helps :)
@@GoblinRides damn what a good description, and the video was really helpful too !
As long as you don't just straight up dump the clutch you should be fine
@@233kostawhat does this mean
@@ominous5359 "dumping" the clutch is basically releasing it as quickly and sharply as you can. It's not good for the engine, it's not good for the gearbox, it's not good for the clutch and on a bike - it's not good for your body either.
Its job is to smooth out the engagement or rather to let you smooth it out until engine and gearbox turn as one. If it is used abruptly, at best it will unsettle the bike, but it's more likely to just break the rear wheel loose. That could quite easily have you eating asphalt.
"im wearing these shoes because THEYRE WHITE!"
white was spoken in such unanymous tone that i think it got a double meaning
13:34 metaphorically speaking 😊 🦶🏾 👇🏾 😅
what happens if you mount the bike from the opposite side as the stand side.
it's more difficult because the motorbike is slanted into your leg as you attempt to lift your leg over, meaning you have to pick your leg up higher.
makes it more likely you catch something and fall/pull the motorbike over
How do u reverse
Use the troltle the other way
Bikes usually don’t have a reverse gear, you’ll just have to put it in neutral or hold in the clutch and push it
thank you (b'.')b
More better to start with a 100 cc comuter
Thank you!! 🙏 perfectly explained. You answered all the questions I had about clutch and changing gears. Awesome! Thanks for the perfect video helped a ton. 🫶
