Jacob Tremblay did a PHENOMENAL job as “baseball boy” and his tragic, horrific death scene. I really didn’t expect them to show it like that. Jacob was so convincing at being in complete fear.

And then horrified for two more days after realizing what the little girl we see before him, and so many other kids we don't see, must have gone through. Then a minute of solace in the realization that this is fiction, followed by a week of being horrified at the real-world metaphor for kids that are victims of violence. He's a true inspiration for someone that, like myself, is trying to get into the movie business. He's great at tossing our emotions all around the movie, and this is the kind of horror that always gets me. I'm starting to call it "emotional horror", which seems accurate to me. I hope his projects get more attention, he surely deserves it.

There is just something so terrifying about the subject matter in a Steven King novel. For many people this movie or the shinning were not that scary. But the central theme and the characters really are terrifying. I didn't think there would be anyone brave or skilled enough to take up the Stanley Kubrick mantel, but then I remembered Geralds Game and how Mike Flanagan stayed as close to the book as he could and adding his own brilliance to it. So when I saw the trailer to this movie and saw that Mike Flanagan was directing it I was overjoyed. The man is a brilliant director and really knows how to convey everything about a story through the lense.

He had a horrible case of writer's block which disappeared after a nightmare about his child being chased down the hotel hallway by ghosts. King would have had to have had to call the book that since the film is merely referencing the book and he didnt so that's impossible

I’m still thinking Frank Darabont should have done a screenplay adaptation of the book. It would have been great!

Rebecca Ferguson should be cast as Anna Marie better known as Rogue of the X-Men, and needs to be in Captain Marvel 2. Marvel come on cast her as Rogue please. And used Destiny (Irene Adler) cast Sharon Stone as her adopted mother. Destiny could be the leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants.

When the filing cabinet drawer slammed on Rose The Hat’s hand, and when she experienced the pain and the horror of The True Knot meeting their end, I still had the death of Bradley Trevor in my mind, so I smiled big, particularly during the gunfight, and when she was screaming I thought “Serves ya right!”. After all the pain, suffering, and fear that she and her cult had inflicted on others, I enjoyed seeing her finally get hers. What can I say? She reaped what she had been sowing. To Rebecca Ferguson, you played your character perfectly! I have never hated any movie villain as much as I hated Rose The Hat!

I just bought the Director's cut...and watching that and seeing the director's enthusiasm, it is a pity that the movie didn't make enough box office to be considered a great success financially. I enjoyed the movie quite a bit, great cast, slow build, nice call backs to Kubrick and the books
