I don't have tourettes but I have autism and adhd. I had no idea how much my experiences overlap. I do experiences echolalia but its something I choose to do and I can easily stop it. Sometimes I do feel an uncontrollable urge to repeat something buts not really like a tic at all its like having a song stuck in my head. My brain can get obsessed with a phrase or song or sound because its self soothing. Sometimes I willing do it to comfort myself from sensory overload but sometimes I just do it to make myself happy. Echolalia can come in many many forms and for many different reasons. Its unique to the individual.

As someone with ASD I sort of understand some of the things you are going through. I’m glad I found your channel because as an autistic person, seeing others perspective is hard for me. I’m happy to learn about what other people are going through and having an open mind.

When I first heard of the rage thing recently, I thought it was people just using it as a reason to fear people with the disorder. I didn't know it could actually happen. But it makes sense.

Yeah tics are one thing. But that rage is ridiculously scary and nasty. Just had a unexplainable fit of rage the other day. Not cool at all. Also the adhd aspect is sooo true.
I really appreciate the awareness you bring to Tourette’s. I absolutely love all your videos. They make me feel comfortable with my day to day life. You’re the best!!

I understand the rage attacks. i have misophonia and certain sounds just make me want to cry and punch a wall it can physically hurt to hear them (crying babies, high pitched voices, certain mouth sounds) its scary to feel the rage and mentally takes a toll because i feel like a weirdo who has to shut her eyes and grit my teeth or ill throw my controller or something.

I have all the symptoms of tourettes along with an adhd diagnosis, but I am not able to get into a neurologist because of insurance and doctor finding issues, but this video really helped me understand that these things I have been living with since 14 are just a part of what I experience.

I’m linking this to people in my life. This is an amazing video. It really added to my education about this condition and gave me some wow moments as i realized how much it ties into other conditions in my life. Such as the rage thing without reason, and the sensory processing issues. I get so so overwhelmed and overloaded! A loud, active environment sets me off so bad! It really does feel like an electrical storm in my head and i get short tempered and frustrated

The sensory issues! Omg that explains it! I didn’t know having Tourette’s is what causes that. I didn’t even know what I had was sensory issues. Thank you so much Carly for this video.

I agree, your looking lovely today, lady!
Thanks for the edu. content, I needed to hear this!!
I have mild motor tics that are worse sometimes, but dont think ive ever had vocal ones, so I've thought my tics where a part of a different undiagnosed neurodivergency that I'm trying to get formally diagnosed, but the fact that I check all these other boxes (& am obsessed with your content 😝) opens me up to the possibility that it could be "sub clinical" tourettes i.e. the DSM-5's just not up to par w/ tourettes, yet, just as the DSM-4 excluded many ASD individuals that could not be diagnosed due to their high masking profiles not being included.
Keep up the excellent work, pretty lady!😊💘

That is so interesting, thank you! In Russia doctors don't even diagnose Tourette in most of cases. At least they didn't when I was a child. Only in my 20s I heard from a doctor that I had Tourette syndrome. And I didn't know much about other sides of that. Rage issues, overwhelming feelings, social skills etc. I literally cry because your video explained so many things that happened in my last 28 years. Could you please recommend more sources/books/channels about Tourette?

    I think about
    Drinking water texts
Is saying, anime, lines, attack? I don’t really know, because if I find out about someone with Tourette’s, and that is also a Weeb, that would be crazy.

For me, sensory issues, like, if a hairbrush get in contact with my head, I’ll start saying things like you are killing millions of people and stuff that would make it seem like hair brushes are considered deadly for humans

When I was little and my mom used to brush my hair a certain way that was very uncomfortable (I have sensory issues too) I used to say stuff like “you’re hurting me” when she wasn’t causing me physical harm, it was just so uncomfortable it felt like it hurt.
