    Hi buddy, that was an awesome video and thx a lot for sharing the successful mission. I actually have a canon camera, but it doesn't auto focus anymore. I last used it to shoot a video, but it seems that the electronic components were affected by heat.. So no luck at all to make it work again despite I installed another lens. I wonder if you have any tips or hypotheses to solve this mystery! Thanks very much in advance.

    • @JLPicard440
      @JLPicard440  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eagle Freedom Hi Jeff.... if you installed another lens and that’s a known good lens... then you’ve got something going on in the camera itself.... I’m sorry I don’t have any suggestions on that one... you might try a google search on your specific model... or see if there’s a yahoo group for canon cameras... possibly get ahold of a service manual to see which module inside the camera controls the autofocus.. I apologize I didn’t have a better answer

    I think that's what I have to fix, since in AF mode it works perfectly, but when I switch to MF mode and try to rotate the roulette wheel to focus, I can not focus.

    Any idea why when I put an older lens on my 1300d the camera shuts off, if I dont twist the lens all the way to lock it will work but it seems like when I twist it so that the connections all line up it shorts the camera out, sound familiar?

    • @JLPicard440

      Does the camera have any trouble with other lenses? Are the contacts on the older lens any different? Maybe they’re slightly different causing it to short when installing. I’m not familiar with that particular problem

    What camera did you use to shoot this video, I loved the accurate and quick silent focus. My EFS 18-55 will move the motor in one direction only. If I can't get it to work properly, I might want to replace the camera too. Contacting Canon directly did not result in anything helpful.

      I was able to fix my EFS 55-80 lens (that would auto focus in, but not out) by doing the simple lens pull.
      I have been trying to keep a high-quality look to my TH-cam channel by always using a tripod (shaky handheld shots are so distracting); but my lack of autofocus camera greatly limits my content.

      Lol.. Not sure if you were able to find the gears? I've seen where the whole focus assy is available for pretty cheap.. Thats an option too if you can't find the gears by themselves...

    Just yesterday I bought new lens And now I Found out that repair is not that difficult. And exactly the same lens. It is these damn algorithms I buy something and then they start to target commercials on me.
