Please help me my lens 18_55mm doesn't focus and my camera cant shoot when I use it even it AF mode. But when I change another lens. Its work. Is my lens broken?

In some of the older lenses there used to be a focus ring along with the zoom ring. Check if there is a focus ring on the outside of your camera and make use of this instead of going front and back.
Sports photography is a bit tricky and will need a fast lens with a wider aperture f2.8 and you have it. Nice. You might want to check if all of the focus points are enabled.

Every lens has a min distance at which it will focus. Check the manual to know what the minimum distance that you need to have in front of the subject. For closeup you may want to use the macro lens. :) If you are using Manual focus, for landscape, set it to infinity.
Wow.. this comment of yours made my day. Wedding is an important event to cover and if your camera stops working, that's the worst thing that can happen to a photographer. Always, have a backup camera when you are doing photography professionally.

Not sure if there is a reset option try that or update the firmware. If you are ok to continue using the. Use the manual way but if it's ok to spend some then better take it to service centre.

Dioptre adjustment wheel is to be adjusted. There is a small wheel next to the view finder. Look at the subject thru' the view finder, turn and adjust. That should hopefully fix the issue.

Focus it once and disable auto focus. While recording yourself there will be some movement and camera will try to get the sharp focus and hence you see the lens moving in n out.
Thank you. We just bought a 70-300 to work with a D3500 and cannot get the manual focus settings on the camera software to work. We will try your tips, but if you have any other tips or information they would be greatly appreciated as we have exceeded the return/exchange date on the lens :-/. Also, the manual focus does not appear to work (well) either.
You might want to check if the camera is set to manual focus. Also, check the lens too if the manual focus is enabled. Check in both camera and lens. If enabled, then you might want to disable it (incase you are a beginner to manual settings).
If you are in manual mode then you might want to open the aperture so that it allows more light. To do that bring down from f22 to f1.8 or the lowest possible. Try few shots. If it is too bright then increase and check. If you are completely new to photography then try with Auto mode. Good luck :)
Thats strange. Where are you seeing the images that are appearing dark? Is it in the camera display or your laptop? You might want to check the display settings
My Nikon D3100 just take burn photos, and after a period, the photos are normally, are not burn. Idk why. Why he takes burned photos(blured) and then, after 2-3 weeks, the photos are ok or blured like the beggining?

Yeah, sometimes we do not have an option other than to pay and get it fixed at the service center. Trying to do something unknown might only end up in damaging even further, especially with the internal parts or electronics.

Yes, I have a 70-300mm lens with the same issue. Got it checked at the service centre and they it was the motor issue in my case and the charge was around 1/3rd the lens cost. So, you might want to check if there is any other issue at your local service centre. Also, I have been using the lens for almost 1 year after the initial noise and had no problem with the focus. It just made some noise. But, you never know when it would fail. :)
hi, I have Nikon D5200 and the autofocus lens attached is not zooming out even if set if autofocus mode. Usually when we half-press the shutter button the attached lens zooms out and in and that is whats not happening. Can you guide me whats the problem, also the light besides the shutter button is not glowing as when we press shutter button or half press it the light glows which is not happening

I would think they do the exact same thing but the box is green more often when pressing the lcd screen for some reason. Nikon D5500
Keep the aperture smaller Ex: f18, f22 so that the foreground and background will be in focus. Note that there will be less light entering the sensor and you might want to keep the shutter on for a bit longer. You may use tripod if you are under low light.
M having a trouble when shooting even in AF mode. I turned on the AF in lens. Do i have to turn on camera's AG settings to? If so, which one? AF-S, AF-C or which one? *sometimes, my lens not focussing when shooting objects in broad daylight
You cannot reset lens. Check the M/A option in the camera body too. Set it to Auto. Also make sure that the subject is beyond the minimal focal distance.
Looks like this is a very specific issue related to your lens. Check if the switch is set to manual in both lens and camera. You might want to reset. If nothing works, then take it to the service centre.

If the auto mode is enabled, you don't have to.

I am using the same lens. Many do this mistake of keeping the object too close. Note that this is a telephoto lens.

My Nikon camera has been stuck on [r04] for 2 days now. The Autofocus doesnt work aswell.. My lens doesn't have an AF or Manual focus switch..

Looks like the auto focus in tje camera body is turned off. Try resetting the camera to factory settings.

D5500 struggles to focus in low light situations. Luckily it has a handy focusing ring.

No, you don't have to. Just turn on the AF in both camera as well as lens.
