    I've got this lens and I bloody love it! if you don't have the time, or more importantly, the money to go about swapping to the perfect lens for every situation then it's an absolute godsend. It's not flawless, there's a wee bit more fringing than I'd like but I got mine second-hand for £150 and I've used it for video, portraits, sports, jewellery and nature and got results that about 98% of folk would be happy with- certainly good enough for putting on the internet. If you're making a living off photography then it might not be the one for you but for anyone else I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

      In the description of the video, there is the full name of the lens: Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM . It is the "IS STM" version, not the more expensive "IS Nano USM". So if you search for the full name of this lens, you'll find the correct one.

But for our outdoor events mostly in bright daylight with the lens stopped down past f8, it produces great images destined for social media and the web. I’ll gladly trade a little softness for the convenience of one lens that spans a range from real wide angle to real telephoto.

      The EF-S 24mm and EF-S 10-18mm are also good lenses. The EF-S 55-250mm, if you still own it, is one of the best inexpensive zoom lenses out there, even better than the superzoom lens from this clip.

    You can actually use that lens on a full frame body by just removing the plastic rear element.
    It will give you vignetting though

      Hi! Unfortunately not. In the full name of this lens you will find the "EF-S" letters, which means that it was designed for Canon's crop sensor cameras. You have a Full Frame sensor camera, so you need a lens that has "EF" in its full name. Some good alternatives for your camera are: Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens (inexpensive) or Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Lens (expensive, but premium). Hope this helps! So when they specify focal length even for crop sensor, the numbers are for full sensor?

    • @apertureatlas
      @apertureatlas  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Exactly! You only have to multiply with the cameras crop factor(always). And if it's a Full Frame camera, you multiply by 1.0x, so no change.
