Always been curious. What is the boat speed at which things start to get uncomfortable aboard a performance cat like BioTrek? I know it's nuanced but say normal sea state in the trade wind belt going downwind or off-the-wind. Heard lots of others with performance cats say over 13knots boat speed and things start to get bouncy. Is that accurate?
It is so dependent on waves and waterline! I am about to post a video where we are smoothly going 15 knots average on a broad reach with following waves as we approach the great barrier reef. Other times, broad reach can be uncomfortable at much slower speeds. Upwind Pierre says anything above 11, but his tolerance is much greater than mine! We are on a fast trip to the Caribbean. If you are still there next spring 2024, we can discuss in person!
Oh wow. We would be overjoyed to meet you in person. Yup we’ll probably still be in Caribbean in 2024. No plans yet other than to slow down and enjoy life! Thanks for the response!
@@SailingNahoa Once we to the Caribbean we have not yet decided if we will go south or north for hurricane season. If you have not sailed New England around Cape Cod and Boston, it is pretty nice!
In part. YOu can go to NZ with animals, just not Australia. We also like swimming in warm waters. And we had fewer storms and no hurricanes! NZ had their worst hurricane in 200 years.
Happy birthday. Why are you bypassing Australia ? Is a quarantine issue for Tiller. Regarding your "global warming" killing corals in the Caribbean comment, do you know that corals grow faster, healthier and bigger where you're now sailing and the water temperature is more than 2 degrees Celsius warmer ?
Superb.
Thank you! Cheers!
Happy birthday Lisa 😊 Bon vent a vous 3 !
🙂😀🙂
Happy belated birthday Lisa!
Bon anniversaire à vous, Lisa 🎂🍾 et bon vent pour la suite 👌👌👌
Happy Birthday Lisa!🎂🎈 Wishing you every happiness! Great to see dolphins swimming along the side of Bio Trek!
Thank you! 🤗

Happy Birthday! I noticed you didn't go to New Zealand and Australia. Is it because of the issue in bringing in animals to those two countries?

Ye, true. Waters have the currents they need. But especially no hurricanes near the equator. Hurricanes do tremendous damage!
