Nice winter trek with no snow. Hope we can start using the snowshoes, backcountry skis, and cross country skis soon. Looks like a couple of feet is forecast in the Flathead Valley over next few weeks! Come on snow! See you out there.
Loved the cabin you found. Have to wonder who built it, how long they lived out there, enjoying the beauty of nature and possibly living off the land. Even had a dust pan to keep it clean 😂
Yes, they are Oboz 😁 I have been pleased with the comfort of them as far as boots go. Sometimes it's difficult to go significant distances in winter boots. It was late December and we expected there to be more snow in this part of Glacier...may have been fine with a hiking shoe on this day.
@@kimberlynolan2745 I totally agree. They're heavy, too, but nice and insolated. You know, if you have waterproof pants and have a favorite hiking shoe you can just wear a pair of gaiters over your shoes/pants and that works well.
Great hike. Too bad the park service destroys the historical man made structures. The PS should look to Europe to see how to provide services for the public.
The cabin we found was in the middle of a burned area. I believe it was the Baring Creek cabin (also known as the Sun Camp Fireguard cabin) that burned in July of 2015. If I am correct, the cabin was built in 1935 and was the last remaining structure in the Sun Camp Ranger Station complex.
Let’er buck! Well done.
Thank you!

Hope that forecast is correct. Skis and snowshoes are ready to go.
Wow, Thanks for sharing.
Our pleasure!
So many trees destroyed……but the best part of nature, it will all come back!.

Are those Oboz boots? I think I have the same exact pair. They're great for winter hiking

👍
Sad to see there isn't 10 feet of snow on the ground.
It’s on the way…late…but on the way.
The lack of snow does not auger well for the summer and fire season.
Truth
Hope the snow is on the way!
Agreed, we have thought about that also. Concerning for sure. Maybe the coming months will bring snow ❄🏔
