    Great video 🥰👍 I love these mini PCs and the power💪 and portability they offer 🤯. Pure speculation here, but the usb issue is seen as a more common issue (dropouts and lower speeds) on Ryzen based PCs for a number of users, but personally never experienced myself🤔. It maybe a chipset bandwidth issue or driver issue…… also, the GPU artifacting looks like either an overheating issue or driver compatibility issue 😥

    One tip if u want more Apu Performance from the machine is to go bios find the NBIO settings usually located in the CBS options found in advanced settings after reaching that go to smartshift control and change the setting from the default 35 watts > 45 watts removing the thermal limitations that the pc may have with default settings FYI if u exeperiences random shutdowns shut off core performance boost it will help with thermals :D My fps in a game i play went from 75-80 to 100-110 from using this make sure to raise the fan speed aswell my friends more peformance= more heat

    Love these things. I own two now. One operates as a Linux server and the other one runs HoloIso. It's not going to smash FPS records, but it will play most things I care about acceptably at very low power and noise. Only complaint is how hot my USB thumb drive got in it. My units were $329 USD from Amazon, far and away the best performance per dollar in its class.

    I ordered myself a GEEKOM Mini IT12.
    My plan is to use it w/ an eGPU in the future for local, reasonable "modern-ish" gaming. When it arrives, I'm going to use it for Steam Link from my main gaming machine.
    Will also use it as a Plex renderer.
    Went with an Intel model over an AMD equivalent mini PC so I could use USB4 (Thunderbolt 3) for an eGPU. Not many AMD based mini PCs offer TB3/4 for eGPU usage. At least not that I found.

    Really cool machine. I would use one to replace a standard PC, really inexpensive compared to putting together a new machine made from purchased parts. One question would be: what about realiability / durability? Have you used this kind of PCs in a daily basis for a considerable time? And the other one: does Beelink really ships standard units with Crucial memory and Kingston SSD? Some reviewers on Amazon mention that purchased units through retail channels come with parts different from reviews. Cheers

    Hey Phil! I've noticed flaky USB3.0 connection too on my desktop (!) whenever I use HDD/SSDs with the front ports. It could be the way these ports are connected to the MB (in my case they're not soldered-on but use a cable to connect to the front ports. This might not be stable enough for hi-speed drives). The back ones work perfectly every time.

    I've got an Asus PN50 with an R7 4700U CPU, which I'm using for my home server. This would be a pretty good option if I were looking for a mini PC for a home server (if I didn't already have the PN50). But honestly after having one for a while, it would be nice if there were something slightly larger that could take a PCIE card so I could add a faster NIC (USB Ethernet adapters aren't a good options, since I had an issue with it remembering its static IP address after a reboot; also jumbo frames).

    • @MarkTheMorose
      @MarkTheMorose ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm using a PN50 with the 4300U. Perfect - almost - for an everyday machine. Does your PN50 let you 'suspend'? Mine doesn't appear to have the S3 power state, so when I suspend, it basically switches off instead.

    • @UpLateGeek
      @UpLateGeek ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MarkTheMorose Honestly, I've never tried. First thing I did was disable suspend, since I'm using it as a server and don't want it going to sleep while it's trying to do server stuff. I assume you've chequed if there's a BIOS update available?

    • @MarkTheMorose
      @MarkTheMorose ปีที่แล้ว

      @@UpLateGeek Thanks; yes I checked for a new BIOS early on, as I was experiencing freeze/crash issues which turned out to be the SSD. 40mb with wifi6 is not good, my xiaomi 12t pro does 120mb.
    i got usb issues with 3 different beelink minis, disconnects like you,
    or ports running as usb2 and other weird stuff.
    will not buy anything from them again.

      The 40 MB, not mb, is decent because I've tested other PCs and it's upstairs, router downstairs. A lot depends on the environment and you have to test heap of devices to get an idea. Best so far has been a HP Mini PC, I want to review it at some point.

      @@paparansen Yea at close distance I've seen almost 200MB. I recommend testing with 2.5G or 10G NAS I stead of Internet...

    Impressive performance in such a small package.
    Ultimately though, I don’t care. I’ve got modern computer parts coming out of my ears, I get them quicker than I can sell them, and they all merge together into one homogeneous mass of boringness.

    I am missing the sponsored content checkmark on this video. A free product, your disclaimer notwithstanding, counts as payment in kind. It has real monetary value, this product. Unless you sent it back after your review.
    I accept your review is mostly likely honest enough, but your disclaimer cannot be verified and are just words that a scammer would also claim. Therefore of little actual value.
