A good rider who could, possibly, have gained many Championships as Read was nearly retired but would have had some great racing with Ago. Avoided racing on Isle Of Man it seems.....anyone know why he didn't ?
If you have not found the answer before now.. It's said he had some problems memorizing some circuits, including Ontario CA, where he had a big crash at the end of '72. Another issue was start money was very poor in that era, and I understand Jarno would not have wanted to do so much travelling for so little compensation.
