Fun fact - this will also slowly give trade power in that node over to countries that are eligible to effect the bonus to goods produced in that node. If you’re Trade Companying that node, every single one of them will have close to +100% goods produced from other merchant republics and trade companies in the node. So, even the provinces you’re feeding away to do this will be producing plenty of trade value for you.
If your going to go for highest income, you're going to want to find a way to throttle your income on demand; if you make more than 1.3 mill a month or something it inverts and makes you lose 1 mill a month actually leading to bankruptcy
Yeah I saw that on Zlewikks Aragon run... quite absurd but anyways xd I guess the easiest way to do it would be to lead all your Money into an End Node where you are not collecting (such as Venice) and then change all the Trade to your Main Node again whenever you were ready to hit the highest Number possible... But I never tested it so it is just an idea :)
ya know, just yesterday I was playing an MP-round with some friends and out of all the players, two were aiming to dominate trade: Great Britain(me) and Italy. The Italy player knew about this. I didnt. Also, theres a high chance he is also watching this video rn
Yeah I saw this few weeks ago in a reddit post where someone got eco hegemon in like 1520 with Venice using this. It was wild. Copied that for a super fun run myself.
Now you should conquer Dalaskogen in Sweden and upgrade the copper mine to lvl 3 to see how high you can get that number. +9 goods produced from the monument would come out to well over 30 goods produced after the modifiers, and I bet you could get over 50 with a bit more effort lol
Oh damn, I realised how insanely strong Trade Protectorates are yesterday during my Aragon -> Latin Empire run, but combining it with Trading Cities is insanely broken
Great video as usual Herr Student, only downside i see is the tier 8 gov reform which comes quite late in the game. Tried it with Venice once to rush it, was quite long tho
As GB you can move capital to Greenland and make whole europe as you trade company\protectorates , with help of Anglican church bonusses ) Also if you take another reform after become republic (after civil war) other countries will get Trade Republic bonuses in the nodes, while you are not a trade republic UPD Protectorates can be forced to change religion. That's incredibly funny, I assume they are going to get it fixed by making trading cities and formal trading cities have like -1000 acceptance of becoming protectorate
That just nuts. The only thing is when you are in the middle game money are not important anymore. So if it`s possible in 1500 then it will be totally broken. But still you can hire all the available mercs and be 30 provinces nation, which beat everyone :)))

They had a few wars with each other but they never Annexed any Province... I think that's because they are all Trading Cities Tier 1 Gov. Reform for which they need to only have 1 Province... so same as for Free Cities that also very rarely conquer land
Can you abuse the Byzantium client state Pronojajars (tier 2 reform) with this? Presumably you would have to create client state, raze province and enable transfer trade to increase liberty desire, then release with no "overlord abandoned us" opinion penalty, then accept as trade protectorate.
@@thestudentYT yeah but usually u keep the land and if I saw correctly only England is a subject. My broader question was if it was necessary to get those government reforms.

This as venice could be very strong! Getting all islands of the mediterranean to be your trade protectorate could be very ...balanced.
Hey i did this strategy of releasing trading cities as venice in north africa. and then offering protectorates! = 400% goods produced :D
Yes, I did few months ago, you can get economic hegemony before 1600

It normally takes until 1520s as a Republic or 1550s as Monarchy

I don't have the patiance to go and try it myself but always nice to see broken strats!

The yemen mission tree liked this video after switching to eastern plutocracy
It's silly that they give global modifiers, giving extra trade power in the local node and bonuses fir the protectorate itself is enough

i would love to see that being used on venice for the fastest 1M income
hi,thanks for the videos.do you know if there is a limit of creating trading cities ,like the limit of client states?
Are they able to form alliances like trade city or do they act more like normal vassals?
They are fully independent and will even declare wars on each other sometimes but they never took any land in my game
How stable is this setup though? Don’t trade protectorates eat one another up, like Daimyos?
