Yeah, they're a bit weird right now. As a rule I don't really like timed barriers in RTS games - something lasts for a fixed amount of time and reduces damage. I really do like additional HP barriers a lot more - things that you can damage through to get a unit down. It feels too one-sided otherwise
First of all, I really do enjoy the game - so I'm doing things I enjoy. Second of all, I put Stormgate videos up on YT instead of sc2 because they do much better. I'm still doing sc2 stuff live if that's what you're looking for!
@@BeoMulf I respect your honest answer and I believe you. I just think its a thin line when I hear sc2 casters praise stormgate. I lost a lot of respect for some sc2 casters cause they obviously do not tell us their real opinion about Stormgate for obvious reasons. I think people are well aware of such dishonest behavior. I indeed prefer SC2 but I gotta be honest... RTS feels like a dying genre. Until we don't get a new AAA RTS like SC3 or WC4 I can't get excited. Funnily enough I found a new passion with Deadlock - A game I havent even heard about a few months ago xD It has everything I wanted SG to have: Brilliant game design, very polished execution, great and unique art style, cool characters.
@@florianhaffner3910 I feel like I should be getting into deadlock because it's the new hotness and will be massive, but I'm just really not a big FPS fan. That being said, I've been playing a bunch of (and casting some!) Supervive when the playtest happens, so that's been my non-RTS fix for the time being. I'm also super excited to see what Frost Giants approach to 3v3 will be. I don't expect the first look to be polished at all, but I'm very curious about the mode all the same
@@BeoMulf I lost all interest in SG cause the whole universe, factions, characters and story is just bland and boring. No texture or audio update can fix that. I am also not a shooter player and only cared about SC2 and Dota 2 the last 10 years but the game design of Deadlock is just brilliant. You could literally write a Phd thesis about the game design decision of this game. And its probably the first shooter where you can theorycraft for hours. Its crazy that it already has such a huge playerbase even though its not even released. Combined with Valves track record in esports and basically infinite money I think Deadlock is gonna be the next big esorts title. I love it :D
RTS genre is doing just fine. Age of empires series are doing fantastic and pulling great numbers. BAR obviously is very successful as well. SC2 ladder is pretty active. SG is not capturing much of an audience because it's just meh. good for those who like it, at least a grassroots scene can exist I would presume.

Nobody will put in the hours to get good in a dead game. No clue why beo tries so hard to push this dead game.
