to all the people saying these people should adopt real children: they recognize already that they aren't in a good place (mentally, physically, etc) to be able to take care of another living person. knowing you're not in a good place but adopting anyway because you want the comfort of a child is bad for all parties involved. if you know you're in a bad place and need to focus on taking care of yourself, this IS honestly the more responsible thing to do. I see them as kind of like therapy animals or something.
Well said. Adopting a real child, who has by dint of being put up for adoption has already suffered terrible psychological trauma [being separated from natural mother for whatever reason as a baby/older child is damaging] so one needs to be very emotionally stable to give the best chance to an adopted child. Also, an adopted baby will turn into a characterful and demanding toddler/teenager, so will not be a ''baby'' for long. These silicone babies probably fill a need...for the 'baby' addict.
It's not about a need for a child, it is just a hobby for some people. It is also not a psychiatrical problem to want to collect these dolls. Take +nlovewithreborns2011 as an example, she has a child that she loves and takes care of, but her wife and herself both collect and make the kinds of babies, purely as a hobby. 😊
gabby concha yes for SOME it's a hobby. Some use it for therapy or to cope with the loss of a child. And some are questionable o.O they aren't right in the head.
Wow, they should have titled this "How to Be the Most Supportive and Loving Husband Ever" It clear that the wife really went through a hard time and the dolls are her outlet. The whole time I couldn't help but notice the way the husband interacts with the babies and the way he looks at her. Like man, talk about "through sickness and in health"...I've seen true love you guys...
Am I the only person who thinks he is a gold digger, and tried to kill her? Age gaps always makes me question love. His mother gives the infected dove to the bride so she can die fast. In Turkey mother in laws are always hated maybe it is my cultural bias but just saying you know.
At a nursing home the staff gave the elderly patients baby dolls and they saw an improvement in the patients lives, including a few men as well. It gave them a purpose so I believe that reborn is a wonderful thing!
I was an activity leader in a large elderly care home, they settled the restless residents, calmed the ladies/gents with dementia and when they walked the vintage pram around the garden they felt young again and walked better pushing the pram than a walking frame.. one lady hadn’t been out to the homes garden in many years walked the pram around with reborn in it and had a beautiful summer afternoon relaxing with the pram and a cuppa. These amazing baby dolls bring happiness to so many I wish the haters could have seen my residents smiles. Sheer joy. ♥️
At a mentally ill nursing home I service bio-medical equipment for has birds and reborn dolls. Without them, the patients get very loud and aggressive. There's one lady who calms right down by looking at a finch in a cage with other finches. One lady we speak to often completely freaked out when her reborn had it's arm come off. I find it odd, but it helps people and that's really what matters
First glance: crazy Second glance: crazy but self aware Third glance: someone who is dealing with some admittedly intense trauma in a relatively healthy and innocent way who is lucky enough to have the world's most supportive husband
It's crazy the videos you end up on by just clicking one & the next. All of the sudden something pops up & you go "what's that?" And click. It just keeps repeating and at some point you do question how you ended up where you are! I don't think there's one person who's used TH-cam that hasn't experienced this phenomena!!
A friend of mine lost her baby son the day he was born, the nurses took amazing pictures of him, and she got one of these of him, and its really helped her heal. She knows its a doll but she felt robbed out of the joy she had of having her baby son was so short lived, it really helped her and she is now a happier person. It is her way to cope and I'm proud of her.
This lady is incredibly blessed. She is well-off enough to be able to afford her passion, and her husband is so supportive. The way he is so gentle and plays along with her is the sweetest thing in this whole program. There is something else. There is a feeling of sadness that permeates this video. Like she has had a loss.
They use baby dolls in nursing homes to help calm upset patients. When you put them in their arms they instantly focus on the baby and are no longer upset. More realistic ones like this could be good. Maybe it calms them in a similar way. Trying to understand this better.
i helped out in a nursing home last year and this couple had one and they were so calm, the husband had severe dementia but it connected them together again
This is probably really soothing. These people aren't hurting anyone so hey why not have a few toy babies and act like they're real? Caring for something even if it's not alive is probably making these people more calm and gentle human beings.
I guess it stings a little cause of all the unloved real babies in the world who desperately need the attention and money these people shower onto dolls
@Tia Smith Honestly, as much as I want to argue that these people should be adopting orphaned children or have real children of their own... your comment of all the others here has helped me come to terms with the fact this is the best thing for them. They want a permanent baby - let them have it! It would be cruel of us 'normal' procreative people to force them to raise a child from birth to adulthood and witness the inevitability of time/aging of their offspring. Honestly, this Reborn Babies movement is the best thing to ever happen to the global gene pool. God Bless the eugenic souls who thought of this!
I was gonna say this shit is weird, but after watching the whole thing the end made me tear up a lil. If it makes them happy n helps them get through whatever, then so be it. Also, the guy is a good husband for supporting his wife.
Actually i 100% agree with you Μουσική Είναι Ζωή. And i am a veterinarian, i should have known better than to post this comment . You are absolutely right , these people can't possibly take good care of an animal .
They are just dolls... Really cute dolls... And it is just a hobby. It doesn't mean someone is mental or can't have a baby, even though that is sometimes the case. Don't generalize. Most younger people who collect this kind of dolls don't want a real baby, so stop suggesting adoption. You do it since you're so concerned for orphans suddenly.
I agree and there are some teens and children who want a baby and they can't adopt there way to young this is a great way to have a baby without the responsibilitys of a actual child
This made me really, really sad. Especially the end, how happy she was about the doll. I feel so sorry for her, she seems like she'd be such a good mother. I'm glad she has a coping mechanism, but I can't help but feel bad for her.
She has a 12 years younger, goodlooking, musically talented husband that supports her in every way possible. Don't feel bad for her. She has more than most of us.
@@stonedNcreepy and? Ppl can’t feel bad for others because others have it worse? Who cares if you get murdered, cuz ya know there are people dying everywhere 🤦🏻♀️ stupid logic
@@iamcleaver6854 Who is to say what's normal? These women are not harming anyone. This is just a fulfilling hobby for them, similar to dressing up small dogs and treating them like children.
"small dogs and treating them like children" That isn't normal either. Just because they are not physically harming anyone, doesn't mean what they are doing is executable. If I come naked to the supermarket, I wouldn't be harming anyone, yet it would make it ok.
This lady is not mentally unstable. She is self-aware, self-assured and well adjusted. I'd say she's a damn sight more emotionally healthy than those who judge her so harshly. 'Normal' is nothing more than an opinion.
I agree. It takes more will power and self awareness to know you want something but arnt in the right time/ place/ financial setting in your life and say no or find an alternative then to bring a living being into this world that you arnt prepared for and cant properly care for.
Though I wouldn't do this...I'm a believer that people need to do what THEY need to do in order to be happy. And I love the line, "Do you want to be normal or do you want to be happy?" Beautifully said sir. :-)
Being normal and being happy are not mutually exclusive. These people are emotionally stunted and need professional counseling to help them face life's trials and tribulations as adults, and not retreat into an infantile fantasyland. What's happened to people (mostly women, sadly) nowadays who are unable to cope with life's travails with wisdom, strength, and maturity? Sheesh.
At first I thought this was incredibly strange. But then as I watched her emotions develop through the story I felt it was completely necessary for her. I admire her bravery and being vulnerable. I also admire her husband for standing by her, no matter what she decides is a healing process for her. Seeing her see the baby doll at the very end of the episode, was priceless. she's not harming herself or anyone else. but just like any hobby, I would advise only spending a certain amount of time on it. It's not something that you would want to consume your life, because it could seriously become a addiction. like any habit, eating when depressed or smoking when angry, this could be something a person can depend on to feel complete. I'm curious to see how she would react if someone removed the babies from her life for a while. Hopefully, she could move on to very small puppy. they are much like children too. :-)
In my country, single women cannot adopt babies. A couple should adopt them because they said that if its a single parent, he/she would not be able to give a family to the adopted child. And in most schools, they used to not accept a child whose parents are separated or not together. Some strict private schools still do that and i've seen some kids get bullied because of that. 😥 So I guess adoption might not be the best thing to do but my mom thinks that its a good idea because it will make an orphan baby's life better. I agree with her.
iamfreedom1 I think she is sick. It is only my assumption that if someone were to remove the baby she would probably freak the fuck out. There are other ways to deal with problems than becoming completely enveloped in a fantasy to the point that it is treated like reality. Am i saying that someone shouldn't be allowed to do this? No. I am only saying it isn't a healthy choice.
thomas seeley Well, it's healthier than having a real baby and then after having issues with raising it. Or taking drugs. It's not really a problem with most people I know really. I mean, they'd be sad if one was ran over by a car or something, but they know that it's just a doll. I think BJD collecters may even freak out more if their dolls were destroyed. But who wouldn't? Doll are special things.
Taya Serrao this is kind of a sick take on it. Also...yes they certainly havent helped the objectification of women but sex dolls are the least of the problems we should be focusing on lol. Some guys are very lonely and socially awkward and the dolls give them the sexual release they need. No sex equals violence. Its just a heightened and glorified form of masturbation. I could make the argument that Dildos objectify Men...cutting them down to only their dicks...at telecast the dolls get a face and a whole body. However...theyre both relatively harmless. Quit worrying about petty shit and focus on the real problems to cause real change. Otherwise youre just bitching to bitch and masking it as discussing "important issues".
iamfreedom1 I agree with you. I can feel all her emotions. She's aware of what people might say, but she doesn't care. She seems like a very warm person, full of wisdom and knows what she wants. She's doing what makes her happy and her husband supports what she likes and that's all that matters. I don't think that she's crazy at all. The crazy ones are the ones who judge quickly and spits out negativity without even realizing it. Life on earth is temporary and should be lived the way we want to live it. Fuck the society and all negative and hateful people.
I felt genuine happiness for this couple, especially since the mother looked so happy. This got me in a certain place, where I felt this was weird but whatever I'm feeling is telling me that their lives are happy and genuine to their feelings and that's what really matters. No one is in any place or status to judge these two, please let them live peacefully with their reborn babies. They probably just want to heal and be happy.
I get my first reborn in February! I have extreme chronic pain that in incurable and barely treated. My body would not be able to support a child in the womb or through adoption and taking care of them. They are extremely comforting .
People are being so mean. Many of the women who are attracted to these dolls have very deep wounds. For some of them, being a mother to a real child would not be such a great idea. I see so many in the comments calling them sick then saying they should adopt a real child. So, you want a sick person to raise a child? That makes perfect sense... Let them have their dolls that satisfy their desires. It's not your business.
I have 8 reborn babies. One is in my profile picture on here! Some people find them creepy. And that's ok. Some just don't understand, and that's also okay. There are so many types of reborns out there these days. It amazing. People have reborns for many different reasons. My reborns make me so happy and I wouldn't change them for the world! They have helped me with my autism, my loss, and my mental health tremendously and I don't know what I'd do without them... Looking back, I am so glad I started getting reborns. If you find something that makes you happy and something that is therapeutic, then go for it!
"Do you want to be normal or happy?" What a great motto. She seems to be a very intelligent woman and I wish her and her husband, and her "babies" the best!
after two unsuccessful pregnancies i can COMPLETELY relate to the desire to care and nurture for something after such a loss, but i think id have had a nervous breakdown if someone had handed me a dead-looking baby doll. each to their own. (got a kitten instead, worked a treat!)
I think the support her husband shows her is kind of beautiful. She was young and had her whole life ahead of her, and she got that sick, and became infertile. But he's standing by her, whatever her coping mechanisms, strange or not.
This is the type of video that I can truly appreciate. It makes you look past the quirk and into that persons heart. I was completely floored by her representations of the dolls and how she became their "mom". She gave you a sense of hope. It truly is possible to take charge of your emotions and move forward.
Something about the end, seeing her so happy and over joyed with something this simple made me happy too. Wether you enjoy weed, alcohol, art, music, cooking, ect. This is the same thing, it can be an addiction, a hobby, a therapy. And I might not be into this completely, just a toe in the pond. But seeing them so happy, especially women who can't have children makes me happy that they can enjoy it. Almost had be in tears with that sad music and her joy. A beautiful moment, like a mother meeting her child for the first time. Even if it is a doll, she's entitled to happiness.
This poor woman. She is obviously dealing with some profoundly devastating deep-seated psychological issues. I think a lot of you are confusing the matter when you condemn someone like her for behaving like this...she makes it clear that this is a coping mechanism for her, not an attempt to simulate parenthood. I can't imagine the emotional hell she must have gone through to bring her to this place in her life.
Jack G. exactly! what's with people calling them CRAZY? it's literally just a hobby and other people shouldn't judge someone on their hobbies or their lifestyle.
Its not harming anyone, it provides income for doll makers who honestly make it a wonderful piece of art, and brings happiness to these people. Don't compare it to drugs because it's not the same thing. Just because it doesn't fit what most people consider normal doesn't mean it's wrong.
This people are leaching the society without giving anything back. They use those lovely roads, have access to healthcare and safety, they can vote and be elected to public offices but don't want to give anything back (like future inventors and taxpayers that carry the cultural and ethnic code in the form of their children). I say that people who refuse to have children when they can very well afford to should not have any of these privileges. Only basic healthcare to keep them alive.
@@iamcleaver6854 my man there's more humans in the world now than it is old people need to stop having kids fool you know how many orphanages there are why not accept one than make another give one a new life who has a life but they should just abopt 5or6 kids
OK I just teared up watching her sheer motion with the last baby. I wished she was able to have kids of her own. She appears to me she would be a loving mom. TH-cam sends me some wild suggestions.
I totally agree! At home I like to watch films with French/Spanish subtitles to help study and it is never right. Subtitles in all languages are jacked up, even English films with English subtitles lol. I feel badly for the deaf people who actually can only rely on inaccurate translations, missing sentences, and a delay/sped up issue in timing that ruins countless jokes. I'm sorry to the hearing impaired, this is just one of the many inconsiderations the hearing world is not really aware of. Hopefully by now there is better technology available to you. Also, I'm sorry Germans. I understand there is a level of intelligence and poetry in nuance that is lost here and as an English speaking American I know I am missing out on better understanding a cool culture 😎
I am the kind of person that would prefer to have lots of Pets rather than children crying and screaming around the house, but I would definately buy a reborn baby just because I want to hold it and play around with it as if it was a real baby. Its called Roleplaying. Oh but wait I must be crazy huh? Some people are different just LET IT GO! Not everyone will be like you! Stupid haters
...:::Jess:::... Roleplaying is fine as long as said people realize that its only a fantasy to be indulged sometimes. I could see some women becoming addicted to this and maybe even entering denial about it. It's not technically harming anyone and the motherly instinct must released in some way for some women, but even you must see or understand how some people could consider this to be strange.
Outstanding. Great doc. At first i was prepared to be weirded out-- but it turned out to be thoughtful, and really beautiful. I shouldn't have judged! Thanks, Vice.
The woman that said she was 54 looks so amazing for her age! Definitely doesn't look 54 or even 50 for that matter. Also, I absolutely loved how supportive her husband was!! I've seen other documentaries & just TH-cam videos about reborns & never have I seen a husband that supportive. Reborns are not for me but still interesting to watch & learn more about!
Ok. Huge shout out to that music making husband. I dont think I've ever seen someone so supportive ever. Like you can tell he enjoys the dolls too but you can see with the way he looks at his wife that he supports her and her mental well being. Clapping for you sir!
I use my dolls for depression and anxiety its so helpful and calming. I know they are dolls none of us think they are real well 98% of know they are dolls.
Good for you darling anxiety is horrible and these dolls seem to bring alot of joy and happiness to their moms so more power to you. I have no idea how I ended up here I am pregnant and was watching some videos on supplies and got here all of the sudden
Reborn have helped me so much with my social anxiety, and clinical depression. I'm so grateful to have found the hobby. I am able to leave my home amd feel calm
Don't be ignorant . These people are finding something that fill them. Mostly they can't have kids or don't have the facility to support kids for a long time. Don't say they have money, you are not them. Some people have an image for having a child and they worry their energy or their power doesn't support that. I understand why that hurts them and they found in the dolls, some of their pain healed. And in fact, every woman want to be a monther but can any woman be a mother? Mothering is a huge task and lots of people grow now adays complaining of how horrible, abusing, unloving their parents are. I think it is perfectly normal what they chose to do. Playing is not for kids only, actually everything in life is timeless and ageless. If they wanted to relax using a doll , instead of yoga, meditation, it's their thing and I respect it highly. At least they don't go around being crazy or neglecting children. They don't do any harm. If any of them got a child, then failed to parent it, you will be annoyed as hell .. leave people do what they want to do! When will we learn to accept the differences and not mock whatever new to us. I collect artistic photography dolls .. and I love putting characters of my stories to be alive. I understand where their feelings coming from even if we don't share the same hobby or interest. I just will say: respect others ... you might have a hobby that others think weird ?! So what?! Do that make them less normal?! Really? People sound as if they are serial killers or rapists.
I have 4 reborns. I also have a 23 year old son. I’ve always loved dolls, and owning one that looks so real is pretty cool. I love shopping for baby clothes for them. Most of us have reborns because we collect dolls, but there are people that have them for therapeutic purposes. I can understand that.
@Jamal Timmermanone is a hobbie and art the other is just lust same for woman with sex dolls i dont care what you do tbh as long as your not hurting anyone why bully and call them crazy when all they are doing is making dolls. but it seems people dont think a man who has an intimate relationship with a doll isnt crazy but a woman who collects realistic baby dolls is? im not trying to offend anyone but thats how i see it.
I can see how having the dolls is a great comfort for her, and despite it maybe seeming abnormal I think it is a positive way to deal her emotions rather than using drugs or taking it out on other people.
Wasn't expecting to get teary-eyed watching this, but this woman has such a pure soul. It was beautiful to see her so open and happy at the end. Seems that she and her husband are perfect for one another!😊
***** But you cant say they are wasting their time...it would be a waste of your time.. and to me they look like a professional couple who have money...she is 50 and recovering from lung cancer so im not sure if she'd be up to a baby .
I'm glad I stuck around to watch the whole thing. Those are some seriously inspirational words at the end: "I don't want to live up to othes' expectations anymore, or contribute to their belief systems. I live in freedom and do whatever I like. Do you wanna be normal or happy?"
I feel like for her this is a problem. For most people who have those dolls yea it is a hobby but it seems like she is very depressed. What got me was when the husband said "They will never do drugs, get into a car accident or become criminals that will never happen to us" I think that they have been hurt in the past and it has affected them in a big way. They don't look like they're having fun to me they look so sad and like they're missing something. I think they know that they won't ever get hurt but also that they won't ever hear their child's first words or have any of the joy that comes along with raising a child. They spend so much on the dolls and their clothes and whatnot and they could have put that money towards adopting. However, if someone cannot deal with the obstacles that comes along with raising a child then maybe it is best that they don't become parents to real children. Children get sick, sometimes have attitudes, get into trouble, etc. and you're never fully prepared for all of it but you do need to be mentally prepared for child raising. Not everyone is fit to be parents so maybe this is a good thing but I think you also should have a clear mind when you're taking up a hobby like this. There was a woman on Dr. Phil who had abunch of rabbits who she called her babies. She'd dress them up and take them places and her daughter got worried because one day those rabbits will pass away and she didn't want her mother to have a mental meltdown.
They don't want the responsibility of raising a child and having someone say "your child is bad, because YOU raised him this way". They are weak people and the reality is, that this is what 'liberal European me me me society' looks like. The only people that will procreate will be black and arabs, it seems. White women will rather have a career and live in a loony fantasy land.
they were infertile and she couldn't have a huge family. it's purely a coping mechanism after the heartbreak and trauma of trying and failing to turn around and say "oh well, at least we don't have to watch one of our children die, it's better this way."
I guess the husband is going along with it because it makes his wife happy and helps her cope with her illness like other people who have extraordinary types of (I want to say creepy) idiosyncrasies. I came across a lady who also made these babies in Morpeth NSW Australia (about 1/2 hour from Newcastle NSW Australia. It took a lot of time to make these dolls and extraordinarily time consuming and intricate. If it helps them to live a relatively normal life, all power to them.
At the ending when the couple went to pick up and meet their new doll “coco” I totally found myself smiling and feeling genuinely happy for them, like they were actually bringing home their new baby. I can understand why this appeals to many women, we are biologically wired to be maternal and absolutely crazy over babies. It truly is a need for many of us. I don’t have any dolls or anything, I have real living children of my own that fulfill my need to love and care for someone, but I think I can understand what these women are feeling. My children aren’t babies anymore (11 & 16) and I don’t want to have any more but after I spend time with friends or family members small babies I find myself wishing I could have just one more. My arms literally feel empty and useless after holding a small baby. It’s so deeply ingrained in our brains.
At first I though this lady is nuts but after hearing her story now I feel that she is broken and hurting and this is her way of coping. It's harmless and if it brings her peace then who cares if it's a little weird?
Rebecca Benvolio When people say things like this, I always wonder whether they have a "sim" or like MMRPGs, etc....(you may not, I'm just bringing the subject up...) What's "broken" in the lives of millions and millions of people who literally all themselves by Medieval names and "go around" false places throwing magic spells at orcs and the like? And get so attached to their characters that they scream & tantrum if the char "dies" or if they don't "level up"...yet nobody ever says "Wow, they must have some mental issue." Or have sims that literally go to parties, go to "work," have sex, go to the bathroom... It's called roleplaying. ;) Nothing more.
The fact is, she can't have children. And the reason she can't resulted from a very traumatic illness. I'm not doubting that she has severe issues that need to be dealt with. Hopefully one day she'll be able to deal and become a more whole person. But if this is all she can do for now? This isn't play-acting for her. This is an attempt to fill a hole inside of herself. She's not turning to drugs, violence or anything destructive either to herself or others. This is harmless. Yes its abnormal and not a great long-term solution. I sincerely hope she can find a way to deal with her trauma. But that takes a lot of strength and courage. not everyone is willing or able to face the darkness and pain inside. All I'm saying is that, as strange as this is to me, I empathize with her pain. M heart goes out to her. She is obviously still suffering a great deal.
It's completely fine to have hobbies, it's completely fine to have this particular hobby, but when that hobby starts to consume your entire life and you begin to get a bit delusional, then it's going too far and that's where it starts to get weird. I myself have had one of these dolls, but it was just to be for show, like a piece of art. The women in this film are the ones in this hobby/profession who have become deluded and have taken it to a whole other level.
Little Tuna and who determines delusion? You? Because it makes YOU uncomfortable? Most reborn collectors KNOW they're just dolls. They hurt NO ONE...you judge without understanding.
They are playing. Something that brings them joy. Just like men putting on face paint, camo and gear to go out hunting. folks who get all up into video games. No biggie really
The insulting comments here say much more about those dishing out judgements than the insightful reborn owners who have shared their experiences in this video and in the comments section. I am unable to have children and adoption isn't an option. No, it's not because I don't want one. I literally am not physically capable of looking after a child. I have physical disabilities (Cerebral Palsy, chronic pain amongst other things) and mental illnesses which make it difficult to care for my own needs, let alone another human being who would fully depend on me in every way. It would be very irresponsible of me to attempt to adopt a child and place their welfare at risk to fulfill my own desires or for the sake of seeming "normal", and this strikes me as a very short-sighted thing to suggest to those who own reborns. Reborns are a no-risk alternative which have therapeutic benefits for me and many others. I understand fully that my dolls can never replace a living, breathing child, and I wouldn't want them to. They simply bring me comfort and peace, because they allow me to feel like I am nurturing something without actually being responsible for another living being, knowing that I cannot care or provide for one. This extends to pets as well. I would experience similar issues in taking care of an animal also, so my dolls and electronic pet bring me a lot of comfort. Just because you can't comprehend what it's like to have conditions that take away the choice to be a parent, doesn't mean this is "wrong." Have some empathy and an open mind.
I love that you are self aware and insightful ... i feel many people have children and pets for emotional self driven motives . As a mother and a pet owner i am often overwhelmed at my responsibility over other lives ! Not to be taken light heartedly. Hope your coping with the pandemic and all .
I too have mental illness, and chose not to pass on my genes, and I don't think I'd ever adopt either. I know you know it's fake, but do you? You're looking at a completely inanimate object that just happens to be shaped a certain way, that's like pretending to eat a rubber cheeseburger and then feeling full. I would recommend trying to get a real dog though, if you can manage to feed it and let it outside, there are even services where people will come walk your dog for you.
@@Lazy_Prophet I think It was to you that I answered up here regarding adoption. I will say the same thing about pets: they are living beings and you cannot feed them and "just have them outside and have somebody to walk them". Babies awaiting adoption and dogs or cats awaiting adoptions are not objects you can, or should use, to satisfy whatever need you have and fold and put away when you do not want to interact with them any longer. Please stop giving such shallow, pointless advice, as if you knew better than the people who have to make these decisions where they stand and what they can, and cannot do. I hope that, beside not having children, you truly do not adopt a pet... because if that's the way you will see them and treat them... Get yourself one of those "adult women" rubber dolls that were discussed up there instead. People bonding with reborn babies are not hurting anybody, and hopefully they have the psychological support they need to handle whatever attachments and grief they are going through. It is none of your business, or anybody's business. And it is definitely better than buying rifles and going out there kill living animals, human and not. (I'm not implying that that's something that people would do if they didn't have a reborn to help them cope, I'm saying that that's the way many who feel free to criticize do to cope with or express their own issues) . I appreciate Amber Reed's so politely and openly shares her story with us, not having any obligation to do so. Andy below makes one of the big points in this discussion (assuming one wants to have a serious discussion about the matter) : the fact that, in today's society, people (and even the government, IRS included), discriminate against 1) single women 2) childless women. The fact that the patriarchal system values a woman for whatever sexual benefits can bring to men, and for having children (the mother and the whore philosophy) The pressure to have children is enormous (and I'm afraid even more poignant among conservative women than more liberal women, because they are indeed easier pray to a patriarchal system they help foster maybe without realizing it, but that's another issue. ) Part of the yearning is, honestly, wanting to go through the experiencing of being a mom, and nurturing a life (altogether with many other impulses, such as leaving a legacy, fixing things they didn't get right in their lives, or their parents did not get right in the way they treated them growing up, having a baby they can make happier, treat better, give the education they would have wanted for themselves, etc); Everything in the spectrum that goes from altruism to narcissism can be reasons to have a child. But there is also the strong desire to "fit", "belong", be a part of "the club" or "the tribe", be accepted in a society that places a lot of their value in having kids. The misogynistic message floating in the air is what Andy mentioned below: what is a woman good for if they cannot have babies or what is a woman over 45 good for when she cannot reproduce any longer, or please men who prefer young women, any longer.
Lazy Prophet so what? Who is that actually hurting? And no, you can’t just ‘let it outside sometimes’ gosh I hope you don’t have any pets. They’re living breathing beings capable of thought and feeling. You say she doesn’t understand what is fake but it seems you don’t understand what is real.
One of my dear friends had a baby who passed away at a young age and she got a realistic looking doll that looks like her son who had passed. I think it's a beautiful option for families who had their little one taken away too soon. Wouldn't you want to snuggle or kiss your baby a few more times?
Just as I was becoming more judgemental... 20:25 "I'm a 54yr old woman who 'plays with dolls'. After having been so devastated, I learned something: I don't want to live up to others expectations anymore, or contribute to their belief systems. I live in freedom and do whatever I like"
Psychologically speaking this is a wonderful therapeutic practice for some people. It's rather brave to be open about it. Thanks VICE for this very interesting documentary!
I was pretty curious about this and I feel like it's such a hidden topic so I'm really happy to have been able to get some insight into someone's life and help me understand why this is healthy and important. All it is is a form of self-therapy. She has an incredibly supporting husband and those reborn babies are helping her heal and continue her life in a healthy manner and you can see that it does the same for others. The only true issue is when people start believing them to be actual real babies/children but many are very aware they are not. It'd be really nice to see less stigma towards things like these
This is the sweetest thing. I really didn't know about these re born's until now. This is great even if others think they are weird who cares. This is a form of therapy that works. That husband is very supportive and sweet. He's a keeper. Now that I know about these I want to learn more and will do extensive research.
my favorite discourse on this hell site's comment section is the leap from "these people are insane and unfit for society" to "they should be raising REAL children!" like you don't get to just shame someone for recognizing that they don't want real children and then insist that they must want real children even though you already don't agree with their choice??? wtf is wrong with y'all all you wanna do is shame people. it's not your judgement call. shut the fuck up. i'm glad that after years of actual suffering from what was supposed to be a beautiful moment, this couple found a way to cope and to be happy with each other. if you don't like it, it has nothing to do with you and you can keep your mouth shut with your hatefulness.
grannyslime No one should be telling these people to attempt raising actual children. I think people are reacting so strongly to these individuals' mental illness because, well, their so obviously mentally ill. It's a point not well highlighted by the documentary.
I know, I make it way too sentimental...but I'm imagining them both being old and later found dead at their place by some neighbor or whatever. And they'll find all these babies...silicon babies. There's no other family members, no children or grandchildren...just silicon. That's sad, at least I think so.
this, to me, seems completely normal and natural. you have to wonder how many of these women cant have children or just want to stimulate a maternal nature, or are going through stress or coping with trauma. this is just a way for people to be happy, and it honestly makes me so happy to see these people with these dolls that bring so much joy and happiness into their lives. watching the woman sing to the baby was amazing, it brought a smile to my face. i really love reborn babies, and while i have no interest in owning one, i fully support and enjoy others who have them
did anyone actually watch the video? the lady clearly stated that she does not think the babies are real and that she'd have to be mentally ill to due so. They are therapeutic to her and helps her express her feelings. What do people want her to do drugs or alcohol or prescription pills?
These dolls are a crutch to this poor woman. Her own husband said "Anasha used to be positive and life-affirming when I met her," meaning she no longer is. She has given her problems complete control over her life and uses the dolls to reflect the things she no longer sees within herself. Can she go one day without these dolls? A week? No? That is a dependency. She has no strong sense of self without them. How many women find out that they can't have children? What do they do? Adopt! There are so many children who need love and homes. But a real baby would age and grow up which is why she fancies these dolls over the real thing. The dolls are forever frozen in time, and that makes her feel safe but that's not real life. There is nothing that stays the same in the natural world. She will be an old gray haired woman carrying around an army of overpriced dolls, it's sad, there's more to life.
You understand the purpose of playing, right? It not just for "enjoyment" its for EXPERIENCE. Little boys and girls play with trucks and dolls and pretend to play house so when they grow up they will have more knowledge of the roles. There is no good reason for this lady to be obsessed with playing pretend. She could be raising a real child, or at least spending money on things with an objective benefit to them like better food or vacations (vacations are objectively proven to improve your mental/physical state) These people clearly have some psychological issues which shouldn't be pandered to.
deafheart23 he was referring to her illness or do you not grasp the concept of context the dolls were a therapy to help her cope with the effects of becoming so ill and each doll represented a part of her, the new doll representing the positive and life affirming aspect. I personally don't fully understand why woman do this but if it is helping her get better or feel happy and she isnt hurting anyone whats the problem?
I hear you - but there are healthier ways to do therapy. Even if she limited it to a certain period of time in her life. In reality though you have to consider that it probably isn't the most effective therapy the way that she's doing it. She could donate portions of her time to help children and babies in orphanages, etc. She still wouldn't have the responsibility that she's clearly trying to avoid. She could make the pain worth something exponentially greater. We have a lot more strength in us if we would be willing to dig past the hurt. Trust me I'm speaking from experience. Check out the LOVE A CHILD organization. That couple doesn't have children either.
colleen, my thoughts Exactly. Its helping her. Its not unhealthy, she's happy, and its her money to spend how she chooses. God bless her. If I wasn't able to have my children... Its a primal need for many women.
As an electronic muscian I totally get it when the husband shows off his synth collection, it's sort of a crazy expensive hobby most people don't understand. The wife's baby dolls are similar in a way, I suppose.
As a person who falls on the autism spectrum and has had delt with mental health growing up... I collect dolls. I love learning about dolls. I dont have much interest in owning reborns in particular, but it saddens me to read many of the comments on this video. It shouldnt matter what someones health or mental state is, its their desicion whether they want a real child or a baby doll. And its noone elses buisness how others spend their money. Yes these dolls can be expensive... But that doesnt mean people are just throwing away their money when it could be spent elsewhere. I dont understand the money spent on attending sports events and the related merch, but some enjoy that. I dont judge people who do. Buying dolls supports small artists who hand make these dolls, they sculpt the original bodies that are later casted, the paint the face and skin, sew the clothes and put the hair on and style it. It truely is an artform for someone to make these, especially those who do all parts and do it well.
Kelista O Lots of couples can't afford to adopt. Also, beyond the money issue, many people simply don't have the empathy and patience required to raise and love another person's child as their own, in the way they deserve. Just like having children isn't right for everybody, adoption isn't right for everybody either.
Kelista O There's a lot of screening and road blocks that make adoption difficult too. Not that it's impossible, especially if u really want a child, but its much easier said than done.. & wut do u mean, who's "blaming infertile people?"
Alise A Lots of couples cant afford to adopt... if you are referring to the plastic children, it may seem that $250+ is quite a lot for something without a future and a personality, but a Baby Alive would work fine
I can understand why people find this a little odd, or absurd. However my mentality towards pretty much everything is "if someone's enjoying something, and they're not harming anyone in the process, well then leave them to it." I do agree however that a real child would provide a much more fulfilling feeling for these families, however as the guy at 14:18 admits, he knows he wouldn't be a good father, which is quite an honest statement. People in the comments are saying "just adopt a child". Again, I think this is a better idea as then it's a real being that you're giving love to, I mean I can't even being to fathom the amount of children out there that need love in their lives, however being a parent to an actual baby is a lot different to babying a doll, and most of the women who seem to buy these dolls just want have the good side of having a baby (them being cute and such, not them waking up in the middle of the night to have a diaper change or a feed). I don't understand how these women can feel so maternal towards a doll, but just because we don't understand something doesn't make it "sick", or "wrong" (to quote some of the comments)
Lainehh The problem is you, and people in general, don't realize they are inflicting harm on themselves. It looks perfectly harmless. Just spend time with a doll to relieve the stress and pain in your life, right? But deep inside, this is causing a serious problem to fester and grow.
+CyborgNinja7 in the video, the woman states that her THERAPIST recommended she get a doll. And later on in the video, she states how the dolls help her identify different aspects of herself.
mequable did you watch until the end? I think the pure happiness that woman is experience is prrof of a good therapy PROCESS. it doesn't mean she is all healed and better, yet. it is a process, a long one, as it is with any mental issue.
to all the people saying these people should adopt real children: they recognize already that they aren't in a good place (mentally, physically, etc) to be able to take care of another living person. knowing you're not in a good place but adopting anyway because you want the comfort of a child is bad for all parties involved. if you know you're in a bad place and need to focus on taking care of yourself, this IS honestly the more responsible thing to do.
Agreed
K. Lloyd yes they should NOT have actual children. They SHOULD go see a shrink
Like man, talk about "through sickness and in health"...I've seen true love you guys...
truth.
Makayla Gaskin The husband u can tell thinks this is crazy but just goes along with it.
Am I the only person who thinks he is a gold digger, and tried to kill her? Age gaps always makes me question love. His mother gives the infected dove to the bride so she can die fast. In Turkey mother in laws are always hated maybe it is my cultural bias but just saying you know.
Salinus Bilgi Teknolojileri that’s a pretty complex murder plot that requires a lot of random variables to line up
😂😂😂😂my husband💖s me & my dolls, men have hobbies too.
Sheer joy. ♥️
I have one of these as a Schizophrenic it really helps.
First glance: crazy
Second glance: crazy but self aware
Third glance: someone who is dealing with some admittedly intense trauma in a relatively healthy and innocent way who is lucky enough to have the world's most supportive husband
Exactly true!
The funny thing is that so many people are accepting of this... But when a man wants a life-size doll of an adult woman, everyone shrieks HERESY!!!!
@@AlbuquerqueBandit two entirely unrelated concepts.
Maisie Newman very very VERY different
Albuquerque Bandit I don’t accept this...this is for insane people and pedophiles
How I ended up here is beyond me. I was searching for guitar videos.
hahahaha
same here
i was watching quokka videos...
lol
Like she has had a loss.
vlmidkiff - I appreciate the compassion in your comment.
Sometime people just enjoy reborn dolls, I'm a collector as well and I just like the way they look I have A couple.
Really? Didn't know.
I would buy one just so I could do dirty stuff too it and then put it in the oven and eat it
I too am a nurse and have seen the exact same reaction I can see how these could be used for good in certain situations
My biggest takeaway from this doc is to never touch a bird. Ever.
Good takeaway, also 22:30 to 24:11 is a seemingly awkward duration in this video.
Yeo facts
For real
Can you explain the bird joke?
@@iamcleaver6854 At 9:23 she told the interviewer that the bird made her sick.
This is probably really soothing. These people aren't hurting anyone so hey why not have a few toy babies and act like they're real? Caring for something even if it's not alive is probably making these people more calm and gentle human beings.
+DanvilleBelle I have one for the same reason, it feels calming to hold them :)
Beautifully put, Tia.
I guess it stings a little cause of all the unloved real babies in the world who desperately need the attention and money these people shower onto dolls
@Tia Smith
Honestly, as much as I want to argue that these people should be adopting orphaned children or have real children of their own... your comment of all the others here has helped me come to terms with the fact this is the best thing for them.

Yeah that's a very wise statement
I'd rather be normal thank you very much.
@@user7467 that’s sad that society won’t allow both

It depends on what's being defined as "normal."
I was gonna say this shit is weird, but after watching the whole thing the end made me tear up a lil. If it makes them happy n helps them get through whatever, then so be it. Also, the guy is a good husband for supporting his wife.
get a pet from the shelter and save a life, not a piece of rubber and silicone used to make sex toys .

the cut that was made between 6:42 and 6:43... thats why i love these documentaries
Yeah that was pretty fucked up. I lol'd. Like aww so sweet loo---- OMFG WTFFFF 🤣🤣👏
*****
So much truth.
Yaaa
This made me really, really sad. Especially the end, how happy she was about the doll. I feel so sorry for her, she seems like she'd be such a good mother. I'm glad she has a coping mechanism, but I can't help but feel bad for her.
Yeah me too, she's been through alot
She has a 12 years younger, goodlooking, musically talented husband that supports her in every way possible. Don't feel bad for her. She has more than most of us.
@@stonedNcreepy and? Ppl can’t feel bad for others because others have it worse? Who cares if you get murdered, cuz ya know there are people dying everywhere 🤦🏻♀️ stupid logic
I like her motto..."do you want to be normal or happy"
That is a terrible motto. If for you being happy means being abnormal than you belong in a mental institute not on the street.
@Michele That's a good motto✌️👍
Iam Cleaver spongebob must’ve wrote this comment when he was turned “normal” for that one episode. Lighten up bud, dang
China Raven Well Said
I agree. It takes more will power and self awareness to know you want something but arnt in the right time/ place/ financial setting in your life and say no or find an alternative then to bring a living being into this world that you arnt prepared for and cant properly care for.
"Normal" is not an opinion. It is not a subjective concept. It is a probability of attributes required to be healthy.
she is mentally unstable. its not an insult, most of us are, it's just part of being human.
Bitch pls you probably own 10 of those fucken dolls thats why your so understanding LMFAO
Though I wouldn't do this...I'm a believer that people need to do what THEY need to do in order to be happy. And I love the line, "Do you want to be normal or do you want to be happy?" Beautifully said sir. :-)
+Dawna Larson (TargetmyDesign) I second that.
Sheesh.
Dieser Ehemann ist einfach toll! Er bestärkt sie in dem was ihr gut tut, macht mit und begleitet sie. Respekt.
The story about the dove...holy shit, that is sad.
FrshChees91 its scary as hell!
I'm sorry that it was her compassion that did that to her 💔🐦
What an unfortunate event
The good luck dove was a curse
yeaah i am not convinced that is really how she got the disease... sounds way to dramatic
So I guess adoption might not be the best thing to do but my mom thinks that its a good idea because it will make an orphan baby's life better.
I feel so sad for this lady but she’s so blessed to have a husband who truly loves her
no need to feel sad for her.. she's as happy as she can be.

Bless your sweet heart Hadassa. If only people were more empathetic like you are...

To see her face light up when she picked up Coco , made watching to the end, well worth it!
"I wanted to have a baby smiling"
Immediately cuts to drilling a nose in the baby head.
LMAO
That's exactly what I thought!
At least it makes them happy.
Jack G. exactly! what's with people calling them CRAZY? it's literally just a hobby and other people shouldn't judge someone on their hobbies or their lifestyle.
smoking crack makes people happy too, that doesn't make it a healthy or sane thing to do.
Its not harming anyone, it provides income for doll makers who honestly make it a wonderful piece of art, and brings happiness to these people. Don't compare it to drugs because it's not the same thing. Just because it doesn't fit what most people consider normal doesn't mean it's wrong.
it's fucking creepy though
they should be like them dam ugly dolls
They aren't harming anyone!!! Glad they are happy and etc.
@@iamcleaver6854 people who can't make babies exist too dude
But this documentary wasn't about such people.
@@iamcleaver6854 my man there's more humans in the world now than it is old people need to stop having kids fool you know how many orphanages there are why not accept one than make another give one a new life who has a life but they should just abopt 5or6 kids
Perhaps Asia is overpopulated, but Europe isn't.
OK I just teared up watching her sheer motion with the last baby. I wished she was able to have kids of her own. She appears to me she would be a loving mom.
TH-cam sends me some wild suggestions.
It's really weird to watch this when you speak german
Right! I can't imagine how english speakers must take it. Especially with subtler details like "Ärmchen" and "Nägelchen"
FraiseestleNom OMG SO TRUE!!
kiki Martin can you explain?
Why
Selfish
...:::Jess:::...
+MrWeightlifter1996 Exactly. People are delusional and they want the world to pat on their back and say it's OK. yeah right!!
Izzul Haslam whatever its my PROBLEM not yours so mind your own business
+...:::Jess:::... let it go....(sings!)
well its ok for me, for example i like taking care of things like my cars, computers .. this is just another version of that
wakesake EXACTLY! 👍🏻
The mix of art, pain, and desire here is difficult to digest.
I feel your comment so so deeply
Outstanding. Great doc.
At first i was prepared to be weirded out-- but it turned out to be thoughtful, and really beautiful. I shouldn't have judged!
Thanks, Vice.
Same
The woman that said she was 54 looks so amazing for her age!
LOL 😂
Good for you darling anxiety is horrible and these dolls seem to bring alot of joy and happiness to their moms so more power to you. I have no idea how I ended up here I am pregnant and was watching some videos on supplies and got here all of the sudden
I use them to help with mg Schizophrenia.
Reborn have helped me so much with my social anxiety, and clinical depression. I'm so grateful to have found the hobby. I am able to leave my home amd feel calm
Welp moral of the story is don't kiss birds.
Same here!
Apparently a house full of cats is too mainstream these days.
Lol!
O GOD WOWOWOWOW TO FUCKING FUNNY
You can actually neglect cats though
Lmfaooo
Lol 😂 from the smell, I thought they owned Mt, lion! 😂
Doll collecting is a hobby that some people don't understand. If you can't say anything nice, don't say it. The world is already full of hate.
Exactly
@Jamal Timmermanone is a hobbie and art the other is just lust same for woman with sex dolls i dont care what you do tbh as long as your not hurting anyone why bully and call them crazy when all they are doing is making dolls. but it seems people dont think a man who has an intimate relationship with a doll isnt crazy but a woman who collects realistic baby dolls is? im not trying to offend anyone but thats how i see it.
Exactly!
Reva Nelson - No truer words were spoken! Thank you for the kind words.
Seems that she and her husband are perfect for one another!😊
"The best seller"...proceeds to search through pile of baby heads
🤣🤣🤣🤣
i started watching this thinking WTF but it makes them happy and it doesn't affect anyone .so who can judge them really..
And there’s no ‘normal’...just different people with different backgrounds, but unfortunately a whole lot of intolerant opinions.
I came in thinking this was weird and came out realizing how therapeutic this can really be for some people.
By the way did anyone else think this was originally about babies that died and their parents stuffing them?
LOL yesss
+Ty98ink I thought it was about dolls being enhanced with hair and fingernails from real babies.
+Ty98ink I was hopin, but, instead, I got these crazed white people thinking their dolls are real
yep
hahaah yeah pretty much ahah
+Desu Deuces I agree. I wish more people could be more considerate and logical when deciding whether or not to have children.
Nabbitch The Rabbitch
they were infertile and she couldn't have a huge family. it's purely a coping mechanism after the heartbreak and trauma of trying and failing to turn around and say "oh well, at least we don't have to watch one of our children die, it's better this way."
Rabbits are annoying pets
I guess the husband is going along with it because it makes his wife happy and helps her cope with her illness like other people who have extraordinary types of (I want to say creepy) idiosyncrasies. I came across a lady who also made these babies in Morpeth NSW Australia (about 1/2 hour from Newcastle NSW Australia. It took a lot of time to make these dolls and extraordinarily time consuming and intricate. If it helps them to live a relatively normal life, all power to them.
hrs a good husband
or he may just be as sick as she is sadly
I love your use of the word "idiosyncrasies".
Gordian Buß agreed
@Kooky katt what even...
I think its really sweet how supportive the husband is.
At first I though this lady is nuts but after hearing her story now I feel that she is broken and hurting and this is her way of coping. It's harmless and if it brings her peace then who cares if it's a little weird?
I totally agree with you.You are not only beautiful on the outside but the inside as well.
Rebecca Benvolio
When people say things like this, I always wonder whether they have a "sim" or like MMRPGs, etc....(you may not, I'm just bringing the subject up...) What's "broken" in the lives of millions and millions of people who literally all themselves by Medieval names and "go around" false places throwing magic spells at orcs and the like?
I agree. It is so awful to read the comments. People who cannot deal with life as a grey area.
if you know someone who isn't alittle weird or alot..you don't know them lol
It's completely fine to have hobbies, it's completely fine to have this particular hobby, but when that hobby starts to consume your entire life and you begin to get a bit delusional, then it's going too far and that's where it starts to get weird. I myself have had one of these dolls, but it was just to be for show, like a piece of art. The women in this film are the ones in this hobby/profession who have become deluded and have taken it to a whole other level.
Little Tuna I
Little Tuna 100% right!
Is that not what babies do?
The fact that the patriarchal system values a woman for whatever sexual benefits can bring to men, and for having children (the mother and the whore philosophy) The pressure to have children is enormous (and I'm afraid even more poignant among conservative women than more liberal women, because they are indeed easier pray to a patriarchal system they help foster maybe without realizing it, but that's another issue. )
Part of the yearning is, honestly, wanting to go through the experiencing of being a mom, and nurturing a life (altogether with many other impulses, such as leaving a legacy, fixing things they didn't get right in their lives, or their parents did not get right in the way they treated them growing up, having a baby they can make happier, treat better, give the education they would have wanted for themselves, etc); Everything in the spectrum that goes from altruism to narcissism can be reasons to have a child.
I'm not well enough to care for babies or toddlers but having a reborn toddler is amazing. He's next to me right now.☺
One of my dear friends had a baby who passed away at a young age and she got a realistic looking doll that looks like her son who had passed. I think it's a beautiful option for families who had their little one taken away too soon. Wouldn't you want to snuggle or kiss your baby a few more times?
that's really fucked up, it's death, let it go! The couple on the vídeo is cool but that is just sick
I think the couple have such a beautiful relationship ❤️❤️❤️ I hope I can have someone like that in my life someday 🌼🌼🌼
It'd be really nice to see less stigma towards things like these
this honestly isn't creepy at all to me. they seem like such sweet people, and i hope they are doing well
Michael seems like such a sweet, soft-hearted person
This is just horror to watch and they should go to therapy
👏👏👏👏👌🌈
Leave them alone if they're happy then let them be happy.
I know, I make it way too sentimental...but I'm imagining them both being old and later found dead at their place by some neighbor or whatever. And they'll find all these babies...silicon babies. There's no other family members, no children or grandchildren...just silicon. That's sad, at least I think so.
They don’t replace real people, I don’t think it’s sad to collect them.
I'm a reborn collector too. I'm 68 now. Dolls were my outlet since 5 years old. ♥🌹🌈
Aw what a beautiful soul that woman has! I am so happy she has been able to heal herself as well as find herself through the baby dolls
Its not even creepy, its sad. Not sad in the "Wow, they're buying life like baby dolls" way, but sad in a way of "This fills a void for them".
More people should do this instead of popping out spawn
this, to me, seems completely normal and natural. you have to wonder how many of these women cant have children or just want to stimulate a maternal nature, or are going through stress or coping with trauma. this is just a way for people to be happy, and it honestly makes me so happy to see these people with these dolls that bring so much joy and happiness into their lives. watching the woman sing to the baby was amazing, it brought a smile to my face. i really love reborn babies, and while i have no interest in owning one, i fully support and enjoy others who have them
i dont get why there are so many dislikes though. this was a really good documentary, well done vice
because the whole premise is ludicrous
@@Shinkajo Your opinion, feel free to move on.
did anyone actually watch the video? the lady clearly stated that she does not think the babies are real and that she'd have to be mentally ill to due so.
She could be raising a real child, or at least spending money on things with an objective benefit to them like better food or vacations (vacations are objectively proven to improve your mental/physical state)
These people clearly have some psychological issues which shouldn't be pandered to.
deafheart23 he was referring to her illness or do you not grasp the concept of context the dolls were a therapy to help her cope with the effects of becoming so ill and each doll represented a part of her, the new doll representing the positive and life affirming aspect.
This is actually really sad.
LOTS OF RESPECTS FOR SUCH A CARING AND UNDERSTANDING HUSBAND. BRAVO MAN YOU ARE A "MAN" IN ITS TRUE SENSE.
I think this is silly, but cute and does no harm to anyone. If it makes these people happy to play like a doll is real, let them enjoy.
Man I'm a mess, I'm nearly in tears seeing how happy she was when she finally saw her Coco/smiling baby
I'm 17 years old, and I have 1 reborn doll.. something about her just.. heals me
aren't they really expensive
I am getting one really really soon. My mom doesn't mind it she is like" it's almost like practice
I'm 19 and I'm awaiting my first reborn! I'm so excited :)
At 17 what are u trying to heal from, just wondering, the concept is nice but this couple seems a little delusional
bill let's not jump into quick conclusions. Wounds have no age. Pain has no age.
I think it is MAGIC the way her husband supports her. What a man.
As an electronic muscian I totally get it when the husband shows off his synth collection, it's sort of a crazy expensive hobby most people don't understand. The wife's baby dolls are similar in a way, I suppose.
I'm glad she's happy. Everyone has their own quirks.
Agreed.
We sure do 😊👍.
After watching this with an open mind....i feel very disturbed....
I bet its a bunch of orphans watchin this like "MUTHAFUCKA..."
This comment is the funniest thing I have read in my entire life.
Instead of putting all the blame on infertile people why dont mormons who have thirty kids adopt? Why dont the average couples who want kids adopt?
Yes children, this is how babies are born.
Lol
hahahaha that was funny
Lol
I can understand why people find this a little odd, or absurd. However my mentality towards pretty much everything is "if someone's enjoying something, and they're not harming anyone in the process, well then leave them to it."
I do agree however that a real child would provide a much more fulfilling feeling for these families, however as the guy at 14:18 admits, he knows he wouldn't be a good father, which is quite an honest statement.
You misread it. I said if they're not harming anyone. Meaning themselves also. I'm not condoning any self destructive behaviour.
Lainehh The problem is you, and people in general, don't realize they are inflicting harm on themselves. It looks perfectly harmless. Just spend time with a doll to relieve the stress and pain in your life, right? But deep inside, this is causing a serious problem to fester and grow.
I LOVE REBORNS
+CyborgNinja7 in the video, the woman states that her THERAPIST recommended she get a doll. And later on in the video, she states how the dolls help her identify different aspects of herself.
mequable did you watch until the end? I think the pure happiness that woman is experience is prrof of a good therapy PROCESS. it doesn't mean she is all healed and better, yet. it is a process, a long one, as it is with any mental issue.
tbh she is pretty selfaware and knows its just a doll but makes her happy to pretend like its a real baby so good for her
he is the most supportive husband ever.
