- My Iceriver KS5L Kaspa ASIC has arrived! Testing these Kaspa ASIC's is always a blast for me! I was able to consistently achieve 12 terahash of Kaspa mining power! From my testing it seems like it is happy running a little on the hot side. I test chip temps to see how well the new thermal paste performs! I use a decibel meter to see how loud the KS5L is with stock fans in my hot garage! So far the KS5L is holding up very well with the new thermal paste from Iceriver! Great video! I hope a custom firmware is coming. It would be nice to get KS5M-level or better efficiency (KS5M is 15TH for same wattage), and maybe use the extra room to overclock a bit while staying in that 70-80c range
It sounds like KS5L overclocks are being worked on this very moment. Hopefully they'll be available soon. As soon as they are, I will be overclocking these units and doing videos on it!

Man these Iceriver Asics love to run hot.. My Ultra anything under 80c and it hashes all over the place.. And below 70c and it won't get above 380gh/s.and the cooler you go the lower the hashing goes... It's the only Asics I've ever owned that do that.. Every Asic I've owned in the past and currently have love it when you pump cooled air in the intakes.
Yeah they seem to be more picky with the temp range for sure!

Keep me updated when you crack it open, looks like the control board is different on this batch going forward ks5l's , want to see if the fan connectors are different for the spoofers, iceriver site pics look like fan connectors are different and look like the square connectors
Yeah you will need adapters it looks like. I havnt cracked it open yet but here's a link to ones I ordered. I was told these should work altairtech.io/product/antminer-fan-adapter-cable-rect_square/

I'm considering it myself. $20 set up fee, you prepay for 2 months of power, 8 cent electric rate, U.S. based so there would be no shipping costs or import duties, they'll just turn the machine on and give you access. Also down the line if you want the machine shipped to you they only charge for shipping costs to send it to you, no extra fees. There is a program you can download from my Discord that can log into the machine to see the chip temps

Ks5L runs fine at colder temps in my experience, mine run down to 40c exhaust and maintain hash rate no probs. - voltage has been disabled on IR monitor intentionally based on what tswift mentioned.
That's odd because everyone else I've talked too has said the KS5L likes to run hotter
@@GreaterGoodMining happy to show you my stats, but mine run in a garage that gets super cold, and vent exhausts through a manifold, no problems. Ultras and Pros are a different ballgame. I know the Bitmains def don’t like running cold.

What is the temperature in the room where the device is operating?
It was 87 degrees F when I shot this video. I thought you could see my temp gauge in the video but when i went back to look at the footage it was as clear as I thought it was.

Bought KS3M from Iceriver Hongkong.. 1 Hashboard broke on first day when it arrived (factory sealed), service is free but need to ship it back to Hong Kong for 500$ , then wait for 1.5 month for service and ship back.. Meanwhile the new KS3M price dropped half in price on the period T.T (sorry for the rant)

Whats up GGM, Qusetion... I bought one of the 1 batch KS5L and ever since I plugged it in, On my iceriver gui It's always said abnormal in red for the miner temp... It never gets over 80 degrees I think it's because it was one of the first ones and they didn't have them dialed in yet... What would you do to fix it??? I'd appreciate any advice thanks... 👍
@@ratedrawr1411 you could try the new firmware they have on their website. It might fix that issue
Sorry for silly question but how you get 220 volts in US?
You need an electrician to install a dedicated, proper, 220volt outlet that runs from your breaker panel. Then you would need a PDU like the Altair PDU I showed in the video

Before overclocks I've got about 55 terahash ( but I havnt received all the miners yet that will get me to that hashrate. They should get here soon though!)

I assume temps were still 86-90f when you tested the sound levels?
Yes my garage is always in the high 80's to low 90's in the summer
with AC Fan i got 55 58 and the chip temperature 69-75 degrees.

There are a lot of factors that play into mining Kaspa. The hashrate will keep going up, and the emissions schedule drops on a regular basis. We are counting on price appreciation of Kaspa as miners. I like the Ultra because it allows you to easily mine Kaspa at home and participate in the project. With KRc20 coming soon, and hopefully a bullrun on its way, I think Kaspa mining will do well. Not financial advice of course.

@jesuscamacho922 hi Jesus, no I don't offer any online courses. My advice would be to start out slow and learn as you go. Don't buy super expensive equipment to start out. Learn the basics first

I am jealous of your KS5L! I would love to know more about your electrical setup and what you are able to run on it. Im building a new house with a 240v in the garage, and am trying to figure out how I could use an asic on it. Also, do your Asics ever get too hot in the garage?
I vent them directly out the window using shroud kits and 8 inch ducting. I have 2 30 amp outlets. Always use the 80% rule when running a continuous power draw!
