@@mrautoservices7354 Don't put yourself down. I've been watching your stuff for a while. You are way above the average for a diagnostic technician. Please keep the videos coming we need British channels with home market car problems.
No garage would want to take on a chain job on an engine that neglected and slugged up. It’s a time bomb for the next point of failure. The big ends are probably not long for this world. All the oil passages are compromised. Great video as always. Really enjoy your diagnosis path. The Topdon scanner is a nice bit of kit.
Another great video mate. Just for reference when I started on the spanner’s in 1975 if you didn’t have your car regularly serviced it would without doubt let you down in comparison the modern motor car and I’ve witnessed it many times every warning light on half a litre of oil in the sump and rattling like a bag of spanner’s but still getting the owner to work and the shops testament to the advancement in technology and materials over the decades. Unfortunately that Nissan engine is beyond repair. Great use of the decade box I have one a cheap eBay purchase but does the job👍. Channels growing Bud 🤙
Jeez! Oil changes are the single most important preventative measure you can do to avoid issues with an engine IMO - this just shows why. What a nightmare! Looks like something you see on those american "just rolled in"/"customer states" videos.
Thank you that was a really interesting video. Judging by the state of the oil that car has been a sick puppy for a very long time and the state of the oil suggests it has been in there for tens of thousands of miles longer than it should have been. I am a key DIY and could be tempted by the Topdon but it is a stiff price for random and occasional use.Keep up the good work.👍😀
Seeing this more & more - people are struggling with expenses so they're skipping servicing, which ironically is leading to even bigger bills for repairs. Change the oil & filter, even if you do little else, People.
Happened to a neighbour, I had no idea they'd not had it serviced for 7 years..!! It was petrol, so it eventually ran out of oil and the big ends went.
@@G-ra-ha-m Have a customers van in today - last service is marked nice and clear in tippex.. 50,000km ago.. 01.2023.. "I just had it serviced last year..." yeah...
It never fails to amaze me that people are still ignorant and neglectful about maintaining their vehicles. You reap what you sow. Sticky crap gives you just that ,being stuck in the crap.
Ive been naughty and had my oil overdue by 20000 miles ...i can confirm it was still oily not gunked up...i would reckon thats more like 80000 miles overdue or 8000 miles over 8 years
had a volvo v50 coming in to my workshop, stopped while driving, opened the hood, looking and directly saw the hole in the block but no oil had come out, bone dry engine, and in the trunk was a can with 4 liter oil , surrelistic.
Love your videos mate, the electronic troubleshooting brings me back to my days of repairing CRT monitors and PSU units many years ago. Would a 3 pin POT resistor also work for testing purposes to see if the ECU picks up the changes in resistance. That might be a cheaper option for the DIYer than a decade box.
what a fascinating channel, your a natural on the camera, and super awesome with explaining everything, id fly you to tenerife just to get you honest review of my car, keep up the awesome work, so young and so damn smart. amazing.
Overdue by 8k miles, 8k, try 180k or more. Who the F does that to a vehicle. Christ on a bike I'm in the process of replacing/rebuilding the front end on my car, cos a suicidal badger jumped out in front of me a few weeks ago, and even though the car was serviced only 6 months/5k miles ago I changed the oil and filter as I had really easy access with the whole front end of the car removed. Some people shouldn't be allowed own a car...🤣🤣
Fantastic video very informative great equipment! What will be the fate of this Nissan Juke, will replacing the timing chain and doing an engine flush be enough or would this need another engine?
If it was myself doing the job I personally would opt for a new engine as the amount of sludge and metal shavings that have surfaced around the engine cavities It wouldn’t be worth the risk for a workshop just to do chain 👍
Interesting video, Cheers. One question though - What kind of a garage isn't able to tell when they've got a car with a shagged engine!!! 😳 - Hey buddy, just for laughs, in your next video can you try saying "purple burglar alarm" please. I just want to see if we can all 'interpretate' what you've said 😉😆- I'm not taking the pee really mate, I know certain English words are actually hard to say in a sequence for people with a Scottish accent😝. Great vids bud - keep it up!
Thanks for watching bud, To be fair the garage in question would have no problem but its all down to time and sometimes they are soo busy its easier to pass the job on 👍
Nissan Junk. Knew someone that had one of those and the engine failed despite it having a low mileage. Engine sounds like a bag of nails. That car engine needs serious attention before it fails completely.
Did you get the DJI Pocket 2 Combo with the Bluetooth mic? I haven't seen your videos for a couple of weeks due to holidays so didn't know if you did a video on an upgrade. I have this setup and it's the dogs Bolloc*s. 😁😁
“Let’s diagnose this together”. Have you been watching Diagnose Dan?! 😂
I thought i heard that somewhere 🤣, Oh well no one is a match for diagnose dan 😀😀

Totally agree. This isn't going to be the only issue down the line, and you don't want to be the last one to touch it.

Looks to me that too much wear and damage will have been done to the Nissan due to sheer neglect , even with the timing chain replaced , Oh Dear 🤨🤨
Yep the declined the repair, God knows where it is now 😅
£30 oil filter, knackered engine🤔 great video 👍
8k overdue on an oil change wouldn’t look like that. It’s more like years of neglect that’s produced that gloop.
Nice one Ryan, great video

Hi Phil yes this is the creator combo, Its the first upload using the dji set up so still a bit ropey😃
Cheers for watching as always 👍
Even well maintained ones eat chains and tensioners so no point in wasting money servicing them
I don’t see these often bud but will keep an ete out from now on, Its always the diesel engine i come across 👍
@@mrautoservices7354 I thought those K9K Renault diesel engines were a great engine?
