This is maybe the only kitesurf youtube channel available not sponsored or willing to sell you their stuff. Keep your reviews independent and I'm sure your number of suscribers and views will increase fast. Thanks for telling us what most of us suspect, this is now a mature sport, in which it's impossible to issue a significantly improved kite every year anymore, all is marketing BS.
Hahaha best review I’ve ever seen! People just usually talk too much but actually does not show what changed! Congratulations guys! I will keep eye to see your next reviews! Thank you!
It would be interesting to compare the 2017 model with the 2018 model. As far as I know Cabrinha didn't make any changes on 2019 DRIFTER models (apart from the graphics), but there were substantial changes between the DRIFTER 2017 and 2018 models (that's what they say..). From what I see in this video they didn't make any changes on the SWITCHBLADE between 2016 and 2017 but I don't know if they claimed they did.... Thanks for the video anyway ! And for the left front line and right back line relaunch tip!! Cheers, Luca
@@Kitefinder thank you for a quick answear. Yes, I would really like that test, or 2019-2016. But, regarding the test you already did (2016-17) was there any different impression of material of the leading edge? (In the direction of "quality going down")
Hi Ivan, just viewed the video again and Andrej said in the video that he didn't find any visual differences in the LE construction and materials. We have to believe him on his big blue eyes :}
Ivan Stevovic leading edge materials were changed in 2018 and canopy materials in 2020, 2018 onwards are by far the best switchblades, Actual shape and bridal haven’t changed from 2018 to 2020 as far as I can tell from my 2020 switchblades, the new 2020 canopy is absolutely fantastic, best I have seen on any kite
A great review posing interesting questions. I suspect this is the case with others manufacturers as well, such as North. if there's no design cost in the 2017 vs 2016 kite, and if Cabrinha are making the same product (or 98%) each year using the same material, then why are kites still so expensive each year? You've shown me there's no point wasting money on the latest gear as it's poor value for money. It would be great to hear from NP on this.
great initiative to test the longer running models against their last year-predecessors, too bad you didn't test it in proper 10m kite winds, 15+ knots.. maybe in the future?

Such a relief to see a no bullshit review. Thx. Keep it up.
pro trick: watch series at kaldrostream. Me and my gf have been using it for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Orion Odin Yup, I have been watching on KaldroStream for years myself =)

The valve cap is a good one ! Love the dry sarcastic humour here while remaining friendly and positive.

They made changes on the switchblade from 2017 to 2018 and then changed canopy materials in 2020
This was awesome. I have a 2014 sb that i love. I think I'll keep riding it awhile longer!
Thanks!
yea really good review!! this is the sort of video the manufactures should be putting out every year!!!! (wonder why they don't) !!!
Do you feel any difference in material of the leading edge after 2016? (2019 seems thinner and weaker, and I also had that impression after 2016)
Hi Ivan, no we didn't test them after 2017. Maybe a test between the 2018/2019, hmm not a bad idea
