    I have exactly the same but for the EU, UK "square " not the round model as display but you can get the round ones too if you want the difference is the UK square model has a raised section to cope with the socket switch the round one does not, and it works absolutely brilliantly ! . No problems at all just as he stated ,follow the instructions and BOOM no problems connected. Then the best part playing with the house lights and everything else you have connected ON OFF ON OFF......., nice and Alexa works seamlessly with it and Google home and the smart home app which you can download from the app store or from Teckin it self. Also Best for some one who has difficulty moving around the house due to illness and infirmity it gives the individual back control over their lives. 👍😎

      @@VibrantDeals Question if i connect one of the Telkin smart plug`s to my WIFI home unit then use the smart plug to cycle the WIFI on and off to refresh the unit will i be still be abel, to turn the WIFI back on again after the first part of the cycling, In other words will the Telkin unit work with the wifi off ? or will i have to go and finnish the second half of the cycle off my self or will i be able to do it all comfortable. This is a question for some one how can not go upstairs due to illness thanks . Great show plain and to the point .👍😀

      @@barriewright2857 I actually tried this as soon I bought my set. Long story short it didn't work because when I cut off the power to the wifi there is no way to turn it back on wirelessly via the smart home app. I was able to turn it OFF to try to initiate a reset but could not get it to come back on. The unit won't work without wifi. If you home does have wifi and you are away from home you can use cellular data to control all the home plugs though.
      For someone that has an illness and cannot go upstairs I would just buy a long assessable extension cord/power strip and plug my wireless router to it. When it is time to reset the wifi you can just cut the power to the switch on the power strip. Also if you have loved ones that need a stronger signal upstairs you can buy a wifi extender.

    • @VibrantDeals
      @VibrantDeals  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should work. All you have to do is make the TV is on and the plug is ON. Then you can turn the the TV ON/OFF via the plug/APP.

      I have the same issue and it’s because our TVs use an electrical switch instead of a mechanical switch (ie. a lamp) so once it’s unplugged, the TV doesn’t stay on like the lamp would. Did you ever discover a workaround to it?

    • @carlosp8697
      @carlosp8697 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm having the same problem. My guess is, the smart plug just acts like a on/off switch.
      When we plug in our TV to an outlet it doesn't turn on, it still needs to be turned on by the tv remote. If you turn on your tv with the remote and leave it on. Turn off using the app. If it won't turn on using the app from there, I'm would bet it just won't work.
      Has to be how the wiring for the power is set up on your TV.

      @experiment54 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carlosp8697 you arent meant to turn the tv off via the app or remote. If you plug your tv into a wall socket and turn the tv and socket on, then with the tv on, turn the socket off, then turn the socket back on, if your tv comes on, then the plug like in the video will work.

    I’m having the same problem as many others. I already set up the plug itself, connected it to Alexa and plugged in my TV, but when I tell Alexa to turn the TV on, it just turns on the plug, not the TV itself. The TV stays off with the light at the bottom indicating it. Please help!!!

      Trying labeling the TV as TV1 and make sure the TV is in the on position regardless of if the smart plug is on or off. Use only the "smart life" app or voice commands for Alexa to turn the TV on/off. Hope this helps.

      If your smart plug works then make sure that you turn on the smart plug and use your TV remote to turn on the TV. From here on out don't use the remote control and start using your smart app from your phone to turn the TV on/off via the smart plug. The key is to leave the TV on so that you can use the smart plug to turn it ON/OFF. Hope this helps.

      @@VibrantDeals doesn’t help. If I tell Alexa to turn off the smart plug that has the tv power cord connected to it then it’s as if I unplugged the tv power cord from the wall. Then telling Alexa to turn on the smart plug, it’s as if I plugged the tv power cord back in the wall. Doing this doesn’t turn on the tv. It just gives it power. I’m reading all these comments but no one knows how to even describe the problem like I have here so the responses they’re getting are not solutions.
