@@GadgetInspector honestly, I have a bad habit of looking at reviews of a product after I get the product even though I'll be pleased with it. I’m a senior, had no idea how to do this, had this plug for months, found your video and viola, my lamp is now controlled by Alexa, thank you so very much.
OMG! Thank you so much for this. I've been trying to figure out how to reset my plug for my new lamp since I moved and finally it worked!! I followed your steps on setting up a "routine" and it worked. Yeah!
These plugs will come in handy if you went out of the house and decided to come back later in the evening. You could just activate the lights and/or TV to make it look like someone was home to throw the burglars and package pirates off.
I love smart plugs for the holidays lights. My daughter loves telling “A” to turn on the tree, or the holiday lights. I like being able to have items automatically turn off at certain times of the night. Some people have a tendency of falling asleep with everything on till the early morning hours. I have my lights to turn on so many minutes before sunset. It was great before I discovered routines, simply saying “A turn on the lights” when you’re waking in the front door in the dark with arms full of groceries.
Hey Tommy, that all sounds very familiar. I have 'em all over the house. Starting to add the RGB LED smart bulbs all over now. Dang I'm a gadget geek to my core 😉.
I really appreciate you not saying "Alexa"..... Because I'm right next to my little Alexa box. haha. Also, thank you for making this video. I bought some plugs a few years back and recently my internet has been.... garbage.... and trying to get the plug back on the wifi has been an ABSOLUTE DISASTER..... I appreciate you and what you're doing.
I watched so many videos that triggered my own Alexa that I vowed not to do it myself lol. I’ve since changed the wake word of two of mine now placed on different rooms so my family doesn’t wake up the wrong one.
Thank you so much for your straight-to-the-point explanation, needed this for setting up an infrared heater I was about to buy for my garden home office. now I can buy and connect with some confidence. Top Marks to you SIR!
How much energy the use while off/on average? How many watts per hour and one year? Smart outlets completely cut off power to whatever is connected right?
Great showman what I’m trying to do a song what the hook up one of those end of line longest sinks awake in the water heater thing but what I wanna do is plug that thing into one of those smart receptacles and then use a switch on the wall above the sink so when somebody standing in front of the sink that damn pump will run that’s what I’m trying to do.
I bought the plug in it works eith my phone app. If I tell Alexa dot to turn on living room Light . Says living room doesn’t support that. Can’t it be used with Alexa dot and not just phone app? Thank you
I have my Amazon Echo smart plug outlet turn off my router/fibre modem and then back on after 1 minute whenever the internet drops. This autoreset has been a game changer for optimum router performance. Kinda wonder why the modems don’t have this troubleshooting feature built in.
Just some additional info.....The physical on/off is beneficial, However the unplugging /replugging of all connections really completes the "Reset" as it will disburse any static charge that has built up in the machine and really gives you a factory fresh Re-Start. This is especially helpful in Winter months when humidity usually is low and naturally occurring static is high.
Hi. I just got this same plug and I can’t figure out how to connect it to my tv so I can tell Alexa to turn on or off. Believe it or not I can tell her to turn it off and it will but not on. I have an insignia Roku tv. TYIA
Bro, Gadget. I have two sets of lights around the livingroom. In this case they don’t want you to place them close by each other. My problem is I can’t get them to work. I even place them far apart n they still won’t work. What could I do before I drop them! Lolol
@@GadgetInspector don’t know bro. They both were working after the storm . But now they don’t, so I gave up. I read somewhere that they have to be connected to Bluetooth, is that right.

Good video, I came here from your logitech vs Ring light webcame video. I was curious if you're still uploading and you are. Keep up the amazing work. You probably explained this. I'm curious as to why you try not to mention "Alexa." You were referring to her by her name on the paper and was waiting for you to say her name when trying to enable lights but nope, you cut off the rest of her name. I'm really curious to why. The only reason I can think of is your video gets copyrighted for saying it?
Lol, yes it is definitely on purpose. For folks that already have a device enabled with Alexa, it would go off everytime I said "Alexa." So whatever command I give mine would also be given to their's, lol! Not trying to turn off anybody's lights at home.
Mine gets stuck trying to connect to my Wi-Fi. It just cycles and cycles and eventually kicks out asking me to restart my phone. I did it, and still no go.
@@GadgetInspector ok, thanks so much. I should be getting mine today. If I need help, might have to play your video again. LoL. Have a great day. Stay safe.

Do you have to turn the lamp on before plugging it into the Alexa plug
Nope.
How do I get to purchase this smart switches, plugs and echo show 5 and echo dot 3rd gen
I believe I put some links in the Description box above.
Hi, do you need a plug for every item you want to control? nice video.
Pretty much, unless the device itself is smart.
Does the plug/power have to stay on 24 hrs/day or can you turn it on away from home?
If set timing eg.from 11:00am to 6:00pm will it work daily without phone internet / wifi?
Nope, it only works on wifi.

Only if you can leave the PS5 powered on for it to be turned on and off by the smart plug.

Alexa

Yes

Any way to have this with Google home?
wow, did a double take. we have the same lamp

Yes

Don't you 1st have to download an app before inserting the plug?
