the more i learn about chick and the more i hear of the music he wrote the more i wish i was around during his time. he comes across as a true musician that was shy and kept himself to himself. it appears he was quite spiritual as well but i'm still trying to find out more...gonna look into see if there's a documentary on his life somewhere. but yeah...he was a cool guy...I can see why John Pattituci talks so highly of him...
widzialem ten koncert w palacu mlodziezy w katowicach. dzisiaj jak opowiadam o tym dostaje gesies skory i wyc sie che :( I saw this concert in palace of youth in katowice. today when i tell about it i get gesies skin and i want to howl :( dzieki za nagranie. RIP Chick.
In 1980, the duo Ch.Corea-G.Burton comes to Poland for one concert. Cora is visiting Poland for the first time, Burton has already played at the Jazz Jamboree festival in Warsaw. Zabrze, this is the place of the concert, exactly the Theater in this city. The concert is fantastic. facebook.com/dariusz.brzezinski.332/videos/1029827587223036 . After the concert ( around midnight ) the organizers invite the musicians to visit the Academy of Music in Katowice ( about 22 km ) . The musicians agree. The Academy in Katowice has the only faculty in Poland where you can study jazz music. I graduated from this department. There is also the university's Big Band, known throughout Poland. It is with this Big Band that Ch.Corea plays his solo and G.Burton plays his solo in my composition. th-cam.com/video/7dOIM58rqKI/w-d-xo.html This is how these giants met with students in Katowice. If you have more questions, write me a private message via my FB page. Greetings from Warsaw .
My High School Jazz Band in Richardson Texas played La Fiesta in 1981 and Chick showed up and gave us a "bravo" at the end. It gave us all chills. Such an encouragement of young talent. Chick is a legend.
That is really something else!

Ahhhh … Chick Corea was one of the Best musician amongst us … RIP Corea !!!!
I ta gra basu!
Sounds like the arrangement done by Maynard Ferguson on his 1974 album CHAMELEON. Nice.
MY FAVORITE CHICK COREA COMPOSITION! #RIPChickCorea, a true master! ♥
Unreal. I almost teared up when he stared really grooving with the drummer. Just electric.
Thank you sooo much for posting this amazing version. And congratulation to this incredible big bang.

CHICK pozostaniesz z nami Zawsze bedziesz wielki
When Chick asked the keyboardist if he could could sit in at 2:53, imagine if he said “No it’s my gig!” LOL
He said "OK if you really need to do so" (face reading).

@Daniel Juchniewicz Thank you for the background. I definitely agree they are predecessors to SP and paid the ground work for what SP is known for.
Trè chick 👌👌👌
Master
Does anybody know the story of this encounter. Can you point me to any link or write-up?

so cool. Bass play crushes it!

Chick is a legend.
My mother, the blonde in the first row, mid-shoulder hair, light jumper
Ten klawisz to chyba jakaś nowość ,w Polsce chyba była premiera .
Fortepian elektryczny Fendera, model Rhodes.
😭
toothpick hahaha
chick style 3:25
A co to za zabytkowe piano
Fender Rhodes.
He might have not meant it but going to play on stage with a toothpick in his mouth very very disrespectful but we love him anyway
Kiedys muzycy grali z papierosem w ustach.
🚬 🤓 🎹
Moze byl wlasnie po obiedzie w studenckiej stolowce i polska kielbasa weszla mu miedzy zeby.
a tam Stasiu Sojka siedzi za Chickiem
I obok Krystyna Prońko.

I think everythink including his appearance on the stage and even the match in his mouth was staged.
Widać pełną ignorancję Corei do komunistycznej szkoły.
