- A look as to how the Denver Broncos’ top-ranked offence was dominated by the Seattle Seahawks’ defence in Super Bowl XLVIII. This video analyses key plays, strategies, and mistakes that led to the Broncos’ 43-8 loss and Seattle’s championship victory.
Watching the LOB run the show was one of the most magical days of my life. As a life long Seahawks fan it felt like a literal high watching them dominate the Broncos. Great video
Thank you! I can imagine, awesome day for Seahawks fans.
@@nflunveiledIt was a great day! Which for me went straight down a cliff when my grandma called me. "That was the most boring football game I ever watched!"😂🤣😂🤣 Thanks Grandma 😂 Tbf, that side are Bears fans. It's a good thing my mom didn't allow sports, because I had free reign of who to choose (moved to Seattle and picked the home team, not a bandwagon fan). Thank God I'm not a Bear's fan!
@@gohawks3571 as a Packers fan, I too thank God you're not a Bears fan lol
The Broncos were only the "favorites" according to people who hadn't been paying attention to Seattle that season. Anyone who had been paying attention knew that the Broncos were EXACTLY the type of team that the Seahawks spent all season slapping around, most of us figured that a blowout was more than a possibility.
That has to make the Legion of boom the best defense ever, to shut down the best offense stat wise
I wouldn't say one game (even against the #1 offence) makes them the greatest. They were an all time great defence for sure, but I would put several defences ahead of them on an 'all-time' list. At least, that's my opinion.
It absolutely does. If anyone disagrees they are delusional
They were the #1 defense that year, beating multiple top 10 offenses. They beat down the saints twice, holding them to less than 300 yards in those games, and under 20 points, with Drew Brees. They also kept the 9ers down, which were a top offense in the lease during that time. They played in an era where there was more protection for offenses as they were trying to lean the league towards points. They were the #1 defense for 4 years in a row. The resume for the legion of boom is vast, which spaned 4 seasons. Unfortunately, the 15 superbowl loss will cripple that record. But yes, the best offense in nfl history was obliterated by the best defense in history. Everyone quotes the 85 bears, and the 00 ravens, but who did they beat? A first ballot hall of famer, with a star studded cast of offensive weapons that put up the MOST tds, points and yards that year. If you gonna be the best, you gotta beat the best. 2013 seahawks legion of boom beat the best ever, to that point, they are the best.
@@nflunveiled Brother, they were the number 1 D for like 3 or 4 years straight.
Youre acting like the SB was the only great performance they had.
They're ranked number 5 all time
Super Bowl 48 was one of the loudest if not THE loudest outdoors. The Seahawk fans (12th Man) came out like they always have with crowd noise so loud that it affected the first play of the game with the center prematurely snapping the ball right over Peyton's shoulder. Even the Bronco's HC, John Fox admitted it was loud before or right after the first kickoff.
Also Denver's training were using the Jets facilities which was much further away from their hotel. Adding maybe an extra 30-45 min commute both ways and possibly on slushy roads as it might have been snowing around that time.
Edit: I also have to point out that in the giant news media center just a few days before the SB, there were 2 giant posters of Broncos players, one of Peyton Manning and one of I think Von Miller. One fell to the floor and was never put back up as reported by local Seattle sports talk radio personalities who were there live broadcasting their show. The poster was just pushed aside against the wall and laid there. One of the personalities said this had to be a bad omen for Denver. Thus his prediction became true.
exactly, 12th man showed up!
It's pretty simple: Defense > Offense.
A great defense will beat great offense, every time.
Tell that to the '89 Bronco's
It was an amazing day in Seattle!
oh I bet 🙌
@@nflunveiled I got paid for a whole day when I couldn't get to work!
@@RyJones just when you think it can't get any better lol
Hawks fan living in Colorado since 89. This offseason was the best ever. I had been mercilessly bullied for my Seahawks. But I’ve never had anyone talk any shit since this game.
rightly so!
Oh that was a great year only to be followed by one play the next year that still haunts me to this day
yeah, let's just pretend that didn't happen for now...
Opening touchdown and the kickoff's bounce right after halftime. And the Legion of Boom.
yep...opening play was a warning sign
You cannot find the NFL films version of the full game of this super bowl on TH-cam like you can with many other Superbowls. Rather interesting
Weird they took it down. I watched it on youtube a couple years ago.
yeah I was confused by that
What went wrong? People ignored possibly the GREATEST Defense in NFL History. Only 3 times in that season did a team score MORE THAN 20 POINTS against the Hawks and there were some top offenses on that list. Also for the week leading up to the start of that Super Bowl game people voted on who they thought would win and every day they put up the winner. The Seahawks won EVERY POLL EVERYDAY! So the only people clueless were the ones not paying attention to what the Seahawks Defense did that season. Most of the Fans knew what was up.
Put Seattle had the number one defense defense wins championships not the offense
I've watched a lot of football and to this day, that is the biggest beat down I've ever seen in a game of football.
I'm sure there are other games that have been more lopsided but I've never seen it.
an absolute massacre!
I knew right after that safety on the first play that the game was over. You can get away with something like that in a regular season game but in the Super Bowl you just can't for some reason.
yeah it was definitely a sign of things to come
tl;dr - Denver's offense was getting manhandled in the trenches. Quick throws were being taken away by Kam playing the "robber". The Seahawks defense was exceedingly physical. Coach Fox, god bless him, didn't have a contingency for these things.
bam bam Kam the man
Best game ever , LOB that’s why!!!
Same defense that Brady ate up the following Superbowl.
Brits getting into football is a weird niche Ive recently discovered.
There's a Brit that covers the Hawks, as well as that one little dude at PFF.
can you blame us? Soccer is boring
All I watch is Football and MMA.
All other sports put me to sleep.
@@nflunveiledThanks for saying that! Televised soccer just looks like ants running around on a field. I’m a Seattle resident and of course a Seahawks fan. Stay tuned, we may have a LOB2 germinating this season.
@@deirdre108 honestly... I use to watch it when I was younger. Then I discovered the superior 'football'
@@deirdre108
American Football looks like ants violently clashing into each other for 5 seconds. Followed by a set of commercials.
Metlife Stadium aka = Lumen Field east! The Seahawks own that stadium like how the Packers own the At&t Stadium!
they certainly showed that
"You have seven defenders in coverage against the number one defense" 😂🤣 whaaa? The 8 defenders in coverage against another defense?! Stop relying on AI. I do real quality voiceovers. It'll help your channel avoid silly errors like the one I mentioned.
Good to know I sound like an AI-I’ll be safe when they take over the world. Also, if they aren't blitzing (i.e. just sending 4), then there are 7 in coverage, not 8? Unless you’re referring to a specific play? If so, I didn’t mean to highlight any particular play with that sentence-my bad if it was unclear
@@nflunveiled i apologize. My bad.
