  • This episode of The Brain Warrior's Way Podcast features information, tips, and how to's on vitamins, supplements, and nutrition. Dr. Parris Kidd is the Chief Science Officer at BrainMD.
You may have heard that nutritional supplements aren’t a necessity for those with a well-balanced diet. But with 93% of the population not eating the daily minimum of nutrients, chances are supplements could dramatically improve your health. In the first part of a series on nutritional supplements with BrainMD Chief Science Officer Paris Kidd, Dr. Daniel Amen, Tana Amen, and Dr. Kidd explain how to properly add supplements to your routine as a nutritional health insurance policy.
Ok, so you’ve decided to try taking supplements to improve your health. In the second part of a series on nutritional supplements with Dr. Paris Kidd, Dr. Daniel Amen, Tana Amen, and Dr. Kidd go over which supplements are best for common conditions such as anxiety, stress, focus, mood, cravings, and memory.
In part 3 of a series on nutritional supplements with BrainMD Chief Science Officer Paris Kidd, we turn our attention to children. With the help of Dr. Daniel Amen and Tana Amen, Dr. Kidd answers the question of what supplements are the most helpful for children. Knowing how to support your child’s health is one of the best ways to give them a head start in their development, so it’s crucial to know which supplements will be most effective for them.
In the final episode in a series on nutritional supplements, Dr. Paris Kidd is joined by Dr. Daniel Amen and Tana Amen to answer your questions. Dr. Kidd touches on such topics as the best time of day to take supplements, taking supplements with food, combining supplements, and which supplements will help most for your brain type.

This is not meant to be offensive, just constructive criticism: Tana needs to slow down and stop interrupting. She’s constantly on edge ready to pounce, interjecting incessant commentary while the other two are speaking. I almost clicked out of the video several times because it was making me very anxious and annoyed, but I stuck it out to hear the information. I’m sure she’s a lovely and helpful person, but I can see why Dr. Amen likes when she takes the calming supplements lol

Totally agree. Unfortunately I only watched 10 minutes because it annoyed me so much. It's just plain rudeness to ask a question and then constantly interrupt while the person is answering.

The problem is most Americans do not have the income to allow them to buy supplements that are actually effective.
Buying a supplement at cvs for $10 is not going to do anything.
I have severe medical issues and would love to take your supplements and get a brain scan. It would help me immensely..
Unfortunately, I am not rich and am not even actually working due to my health issues.
I definitely can't afford a scan, much less $50 for ONE of the many bottles of supplements I need, or even $500 for the bloodwork.
Dr Amem, I am a fan, but if you really want to help the world get healthier, perhaps offering items and services that everyone can afford would be an idea.
It's great to learn all this information, but it can't help me because I can't afford it.
It doesn't seem fair that only celebrities get to be your patient and people well off are the only ones that can actually act on anything you are saying

Not everyone can afford imaging like myself. It’s going on 10 years with treatment resistant major depressive disorder. It has left me unable to
Work steady enough to have the financial means to have the life I had prior. . I had no choice to sell off everything I worked hard for just to cover expenses of living. That covered me for a couple years and now have to accept help from family . A family that doesn’t have financial prosperity.

I've heard that taking Calcium with other supplements can limit absorption of some other supplements. Is that true? Should Calcium be taken separately? Is there a difference with Calcium Citrate vs. Calcium Carbonate when combined with other supplements?

    • @joyoverley5259
      @joyoverley5259 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I would never take these, they are known for causing joint issues, kidney problems by depositing in the wrong places in the body. Silica and Collagen are more plentiful in the bone and builds a bone with a little flexibility. When calcium does get deposited in the bone it creates a bone that splinters and breaks, while causing other health issues. This is what I learned in classes when working in vitamin stores. Just what I do for myself.
