    Want to learn the Essere Conjugation in Italian? Here are 5 BASIC Tenses of the Italian Verb TO BE that you need to know if you are learning Italian.
    This video is also great for you if you need a refresher on Italian verb conjugation and want to check your pronunciation for the different forms of the Italian verb to be.
    Keep in mind that the Italian Verb Essere is one of the Italian irregular verbs. This means that it doesn’t follow the general rules for Italian verb conjugation (the common Italian verb endings) so it may be a bit more difficult to actually memorize it. But Essere is also one of the most important and definitely most common Italian verbs, so you really need to learn this well.
    So in today’s video, we will go through the exact conjugation for the Italian verb Essere together.
    You will learn how to conjugate Essere for the following 5 tenses, which are the most important to know if you are learning Italian, as they are the most commonly used Italian conjugations:
    • Presente - Essere Present Tense Conjugation
    • Passato prossimo - Essere Present Perfect (Past Tense) Conjugation
    • Imperfetto - Essere Imperfect Tense Conjugation
    • Futuro semplice - Essere Future Tense Conjugation
    • Condizionale presente - Essere Present Conditional Tense Conjugation
    In the end, you will be able to conjugate the Italian verb Essere and you will also learn the correct pronunciation for each of its forms.
    Hope you’ll love this video!

    I am the south korean. I am fluent in both English and Korean. I have studied French, Spanish, and Russian on my own.However, I am not good at those three languages. My next is Italian. I have find out that the most European languages have great variation on the verb. As an Asian, Verbs of European languages are really difficult to learn. Your video is really helpful to learn Italian. Thank you so much, Valentina.

    @soadyp ปีที่แล้ว

    thanks for the videos. Small feedback, my italian coach suggested that the english translation you used for passato prossimo for eg io sono stato , is better as i have been.
    The imperfetto, io ero you translate as i was.

    • @ItalianTeacherValentina
      @ItalianTeacherValentina  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately that's often not correct, that's why I didn't use it. It's actually a very common mistake (most of the times).
      Let me give you an example: if you wanted to say "I have been a doctor for 20 years" and you translated it with "sono stato un dottore per 20 anni" you would actually be saying "I WAS a doctor for 20 years". That's what that sentence REALLY means in Italian. Totally different meaning.
      So: I have been a doctor for 20 years (you still are) > Sono un dottore (or "faccio il dottore") da 20 anni
      I was a doctor for 20 years ( you are not anymore) > Sono stato un dottore per 20 anni.
      Also, imperfetto is mostly used to say "I was" as in "I used to be", e.g. "Ero un dottore" (I used to be a doctor).
      I hope this clarifies it.
