    I lived in Wyoming for over 40 years, with only about 2 of those being in Cheyenne. Its location is great and its large enough to provide you with services, shopping, medical care, etc. There are many straw to enjoy the great outdoors nearby. The biggest drawbacks are the wind!! Its no joke there. I remember trying to drive north from Cheyenne one day at turned back after battling 85mph wind. And the wind chill often get to -30 -40° in the winters

    I have traveled very extensively and I can say they are no nicer people than the citizens of Cheyennee. If I ever go back to America that is where I will settle. It is the only place I ever received recognition for being a vet. The young people even mam and sir the homeless people! The library is old fashioned and cozy. The staff are friendly and service oriented. The police are good people that are bright, skilled and service oriented. There is no other place I would prefer to raise a family. Go there now!

    Where are you getting your "affordable homes" info from? Maybe it's cheaper than Colorado and California but the home prices have gone up so much in b the past 2 years, it's insane. There's no "affordable housing" in Cheyenne, investors have bought it all. Anywhere you drive now, you will see too many California plates. People use to be polite but not so much in the past 2 years. Traffic, for Cheyenne is getting bad especially with all the out of state drivers (mostly Colorado, Texas, California, Oregon and Washington). Nobody wants to live on the southside for a reason. I feel bad for the people buying in that new development. The murals are tacky but sadly, as the city is turning into a liberal dump, I suppose they will like that. I absolutely LOVE Cheyenne, I hate what is being done to the city by newcomers.

    • @wynotwyoming6659
      @wynotwyoming6659  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much for weighing in on this important topic. I think you hit the nail on the head with the prices being relative to the area. Although prices have gone up substantially in Cheyenne they have actually risen at an even faster pace in many other communities of comparable size. I am hopeful that with the new developments on the south side we can start to attract more businesses and with a higher tax base the area will be able to support more and better schools and infrastructure. Of course I don’t have a crystal ball and am only mentioning my observations and my hopes. As for politics, I’ll leave that to you the viewers to discus. Hopefully in a very civil manner. 😆

      Probably the jail. They harass out of state and new residents by having the cops harass them until you are in jail and they are being paid for your incarceration or you leave with plenty of fines and bs charges. The jail is full of out of state people and they can’t get out because bond is so high. People in there on 24 lock down for non violent crimes. Failure to appears or civil crimes, can’t even bond because the DA is running a scam on bonds and inflated charges. They will do what they want with you in Cheyenne. Watch your ass in that town. You better not be non white either. I am but if your not, best wishes. I worked with the city so believe me. Just remember I warned you.

However it can easily get below -10 degrees... I would say that CO Springs/Denver would be better because Cheyenne is too small. too big of a transition from Daytona. Fort Collins is 40 minutes south of Cheyenne and is a VERY bike friendly town, with LOTS to do.

      We are waiting to see where our kids end up living, home is close to the kids, gonna give them as much space as they want but also want to be close enough to help whenever, wherever with whatever, parenting is forever.
      For you it should be a no brainer, your kid lives in a wild state and wants you around, it would be an adventure.

Temperatures range from 110 F to -40F. With the Biden administration in power, most mining and oil production is at a minimum so jobs here are scarce. Stay away from the south part of town it's the biggest eye sore you could ever see!! And don't look around or you will find all the drunk bums everywhere!! So glad I moved from this dump I was raised in! I wouldn't ever want my Grandkids to grow up in this dump!!

      @@jacklivingston7830 actually it looked alot better back when I was young 20 yrs ago !! You would think that it would get better with age but thanks to your generation you guys destroyed it with your drug use and lack of responsibility to take care of anything!! So you saying I look 75 what a compliment that just shows that I take care of how I look!! Too bad your generation don't take the same pride in caring for anything that US old people do!! Maybe you should get out in your community and help clean the dump up and get it back looking the way it was 20 yrs ago!!

      Hi Jana I know right? Cheyenne is a DUMP ! Major Crime problem, Gangs, Meth is a HUGE problem in Cheyenne, it smells bad from the Refinery, there are prostitutes on several of the streets at night, shootings, constant sirens, They have drunks roaming all over the place every weekend, The Cops are sorry for sure, Cheyenne is the ABSOLUTE WORST place to live in Wyoming, or to even visit, its an old dirty town, thats AWFUL !
