YES! I've tried to brew a black tree deck for some while now and when pioneer was announced I immediately thought about this card. I'm delighted that Seth decided to make one.
Times Seth has kept a one-lander: Way too many. Times keeping a one-lander has paid off for him: None, to my knowledge... Also, kind of surprised you didn't manage to Triskaidekaphobia yourself even once. That usually happens when people put together trisk jank. Still, the frog kill at the end was super sweet. I'd probably have replaced the Underworld Connections with Sign in blood. The deck needs more card draw or scry-like effects anyway though, since it's relying a lot on 4xTree of Perdition. So exciting.
I think that you need something like sign in blood, which is a useful card on its own but it can randomly deal that point of damage if u get the tree-frog combo
I know this is mean but I feel that black aggro player might need some more reps with their deck or to maybe pay a bit more attention when playing because they punted like Charlie Brown on Valentine's Day. Whomever you are no disrespect intended but a turn five draw of thought seize is almost always dead draw. Especially if you haven't seen counters. And if someone combos out against you and you have a way to stop it on board try to carefully pick your moment and adjust your line of play around it rather than sticking to your guns. It just makes all creatures on that battlefield when it resolves get a -4/-4 until end of turn effect. 2) if languish DID work that way, the tree would die, and thus not be be on the battlefield anymore, so it would check what the tree's toughness was when it was last on the battlefield, which would be 9.

Whatever, you wouldn't really know that unless you look it up ( I didn't) Assuming we could exchange though: 2: there's nothing about languish that doesn't work that way? The tree was affected by languish. If it was turned to frog, it still would be affected by languish. So I don't know what you mean by it doesn't work that way. 3. Last known information (what would be used if the exchange could happen after the tree dies) would, as far as I know, be that the tree had -3 toughness. It was on the battlefield with -3 toughness before state based actions were checked. So if it worked that way, the opponent would lose the game.(please correct this if it isn't right, but I'm like 90% sure it is) Tl;dr the play doesn't work, but I'm pretty sure every reason you gave for why is wrong

Did you consider Sign in Blood? It seems like a good way to find your combo and a way to deal that last point of life if they are winning on board.
