@@kyu7010 Hi, I think there is some confusion here because October 1993 was when ‘Live Through This’ was recorded and it says in the description that it is a studio outtake. I would assume Kristen probably came up with the lyric and melody that is in that recording and then they completed it as a band, I definitely hear Courtney’s input in this recording for the rest of the lyrics and the structure and Eric in the guitar.
@@kyu7010 Kristen might've been involved with some of the lyrics just like in "Miss World" where she wrote the lyric "made my bed and I'll lie in it", there are several demos of this song but this is the one that was taken out of Live Through This for reasons unknown, before this people (myself) included used to speculate that it was because of Kurt's passing but it'd have been a very quick change, who knows. This is why on the album, Olympia (the song that replaced Rock Star) still keeps that old name. A song entitled "Rock Star" was originally slated to close the album, but a last-minute decision was made to replace the track with "Olympia". Since the artwork had already been printed, however, the title of "Rock Star" remained and was also used for further releases. < referenced from Wikipedia

correct lyrics How'd you like to be a rockstar? Wouldn't it be fun to be a rockstar? So much fun to be Nirvana A barrel of laughs to be Nirvana Say you'd rather die Yeah, but you'd try Oh, to try We are not who we fuck It is your own ugly luck You are an aberration Get out of my life, you're poison How'd you like to live in my house? Throw my baby and furniture out How'd you like credit for this song? Well, I'd rather die Oh, I'd rather die Oh, well, I'd rather die Oh, yeah, I'd rather die
post-poti and pre-ltt. they took it off of the album out of respect for kurt (the nirvana related lyrics) courtney thought it would be distasteful. most of the cds were already printed so they didnt have time to change the name of the song, that is why Olympia is called rock star on the album.
@@iamkjI think it’s unlikely they took it out because of that because they only knew he died 3 days before the album came out, they couldn’t have changed everything that quickly. Most likely it was removed a lot earlier and ‘Olympia’ was changed to ‘Rock Star’ as a coincidence. A lot of the songs changed titles from their original demos (I think ‘I think that I would die’ was originally called baby) from being more straightforward lines included in the song to being more abstract. Maybe renaming Olympia to rock star was inspired by this song or it just fit since it’s about a different group of musicians the riot grrrls. overall I don’t think this was going to be on live through this until Kurt cobain died because the timing doesn’t make sense, and this doesn’t sound finished enough to be on LTT and definitely doesn’t fit the style of the rest of the album. it’s still a great song though
this version is so good omg
I LOVE UR PFP!!!

Hell yeah!!!
This song is by Kristen Pfaff. They never gave her credit for it
Sounds like she’s actually being taunted towards the end… “How would you like to live in my house?”, “How would you like credit for this song?”
Oh cool, Hole covered a Kristen Pfaff tune. Rad.
Kristen wrote this whole damn song! It’s a shame her version doesn’t get enough credit
yeah
Thank you.
Im pretty sure kristens Version is the Cover since this version is longer and has more Lyrics
@@sickemgrrrlit’s not on the album dumbass
Was this song ever released in any album?
No but it was featured on an unofficial compilation album "Ultimate Rarities" and on a bootleg album called "Amethyst Skies"

NIRVANA..
This was supposed to be the last track on live Through This I’m glad it wasn’t
yeah olympia is much better and it fits perfectly with the title rockstar too
Oh I would rather die,wtf does that mean
She sings “How’d you like me to pull this song, well I’d rather die” as in pull the song from the album, which they knew they were going to do.
she means she would rather die then be a rockstar
This mewnt b kristen version
Courtney better songwriter than Kurt but Kurt more talented with the sound music
Ummm IMHO NO📢
Honestly I agree
I think it's the other way around
Kristen Pfaff wrote this song and the melody.
No huntey
it wasnt written by courtney lol, she stole it from kristen phaff after her death
this was recorded before her death 💀
Can you even read?
WE WANT KRISTEN VOICE TO SING THIS SONG😭 HER VERSION IS MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN COURTNEY
No, Courtney’s voice is way stronger and more evocative
Kristen Pfaff's version is better.
