Hi Tammy! This recipe is different from what we usually have but my crew said "If Ms Tammy made it, it has to be good!" We made this using a brand of organic stew meat (Laura's). This meat has old-fashioned beef flavor & is tender from the minute it begins to cook! Not exaggerating, I promise! I found it at Target & Kroger. We whipped up a couple of batches using your recipe. My crew really loved it! I held back a couple of servings for an elderly couple who are neighbors we share with & check on, but my crew showed absolutely no mercy to this delicious dish! Their version of a five-star rating..,no leftovers!! Our neighbors loved it, too! Thank you, Tammy & Chris, as always, for another video and for another yummy recipe! God bless! ☺
My Ukrainian Grandmother would make this and serve it over mashed potatoes… I never did get her recipe so thank you thank you thank you! I can’t wait to make this… it’s gonna be like a hug from my Baba!
So glad it's fall and can turn my oven on. I cook outside all summer. No AC. But we're back to casseroles, soups, and sunday roast dinners. My gram always made goulash in the fall and winter. If I could go back in time I'd take my gran and great gran a crockpot.
I have already made this recipe and we simply loved it! We just had some! Yum!) Thanks for another great recipe! Whenever I can't get inspired to cook, my husband wants me to put CVC on. That's because every time, I am up in the kitchen starting something scrumptious! We are grateful our prayers were answered and that you are up and running again! Every time we turn on our ROKU I say, "I have to see if 'my friends' are on with something new!" That's how I feel, too...like y'all are my friends. I run through the youtube subscription notifications and you and Whippoorwill Holler are the ones I look for first! Y'all are a blessing!
I had been looking for a particular childhood memory ( recipe) for years. A lady in our church always made it for covered dish dinners. She has since passed away. I foolishly thought it would be on TH-cam but sadly no. I had also Googled, not there. I have no idea where it originated. My daughter and I can't get out much and were heartbroken we were unable to attend our church homecoming this past Sunday. When my sister returned she had a full 9×13 pan of the " goulash. " My aunt had found the recipe!! I cried , overwhelmed by the love. As I said before, it's unlike any other recipe for goulash or hamburger casserole. Even the structure is different. It's made in layers. When I saw your post, i thought how strange it would be if it was the same. I'm sorry for the long comment however, your recipe is intriguing with the different spices. I can't wait to try it. 💖
Last year I began buying 3 new spices each month. Best thing I ever did! With each addition I searched for & tried new recipes using it. Then because the cost of beef went through the roof I started meatless Mondays & Thursdays. Surprisingly it was a hit. Eggplant, black beans, tofu & Portabella mushrooms often take the place of what would have been the meat portion of the entrée. Meatless eggrolls & black bean chimis are always made & in the fridge waiting to be tossed into the air fryer now for a easy hot snack or lunch. Meatless Thursdays are our grilled steak night. Of course it's beautiful thick slabs of eggplant which if prepared correctly truly takes like steak at a fraction of the cost & so much healthier. Grilled Portabella mushrooms stuffed with red onion & tomato slices and blue cheese - or other combinations like goat cheese & spinach- make up our meatless burger patties. The addition of blueberries on top makes the mushroom a meal in itself.
I have fallen in love with the whole idea of cooking like momma. Tammy your my entertainment on a day to day basis after praire so thank you for GOD giving you this vision on that day of being depressed and lonely, GOD gave you just what Tammy's heart was desiring a I can say this, he know just what we need❤you so you keep on giving us the heart felt cooking videos of cooking like momma did. Bye
It looks really good Tammy but it kind of reminds me of a stroganoff instead of goulash but it's really cool so I'm going to try that it's a little bit different so I'm going to try all right take care I'm glad you doing better love you guys
I am so excited to see this recipe. I love goulash and when I try to look up a recipe it comes up with the midwestern macaroni tomato beef dish of the same name and that is NOT the same. I ended up describing it as paprika beef so people would know what I meant and they still didn't. I grew up in the south so I thought it was a common dish. Once I moved away, apparently is isn't. I must give this a try. I'm glad you are recovered and feeling better. God bless you and Happy Cooking!
This goulash looks delicious. My mother-in-law made an original German goulash recipe, which tasted amazing. This Ukrainian goulash looks similar with just a few different spices. I want to try this recipe. Thanks for sharing Ms. Tammy 🌹💕😊🌹God Bless You and Mr. Chris 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Looks so delicious! Never made this with anything but hamburger meat. Will give this a shot. Thank you! Love when you're happy and feeling like yourself! 🥰 Praise Jesus for that! See you at Bible study in the morning. Be Blessed my sweet friend!! 💛🙏💛
I made this for my husband and I for supper tonight. I had to substitute hamburger, celery salt,( I skipped the regular salt) prepared mustard and maccaroni because that's what I had on hand. I made the meat mixture first and let it simmer until my noodles were done. It was FABULOUS and so easy and full of flavor. My husband loved it also. It's now been added to my recipe book and I agree it is cookbook worthy. Thanks so much! Much love from VA.
I’m so excited to cook this tonight . I went to the store with my momma and we where putting our groceries on the belt when a lady came over and said GOD told her to pay for our groceries 🙏❤️. This meal will now be extra special .
Yum! Here's a tip: If you put the beef in the pan a minute or two before the onion (and resist the urge to stir it atound 😉) it will develop a nice brown color and way more flavor than the other way around.
Hello from Lexington, North Carolina!❤ That sure looks delicious to me!!😋😋😋 I don't have all those spices but I think I have most of them. Broccoli is my husband's FAVORITE vegetable 🥦🥦 Love you ❤
Mrs.Tammy ,that looks s-o delicious. I haven't ever made it that way but will definitely be making this recipe. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. May God bless y'all 🙏
Tammy you such a carefree happy cook. You always put me a good mood. That is one fine meal tonight. Tammy your making me hungry! Have a wonderful weekend!
That is my kind of comfort food. I’ve heard of Hungarian goulash but not Ukraine. I think Hungarian they put more of the paprika in it. But this one looks fabulous. I like all of the seasonings and yes I never cooked in my crockpot without one of those liners. They are worth the investment because you don’t have to scrub that awful pot. Thank you for sharing. This one is a keeper. Be well my dear. You too Chris.
Tammy you're a very good cook and good cooks use their hands in preparation of their food. So don't listen to the nay sayers ,keep doing what you do! I ❤ you being so down to earth and I love your kitchen, Chris too! Your African American Friend always 💓
I’m cutting corners as well and I’m maybe 1/4- 1/2 size smaller maybe. I’m happy. My fibromyalgia medication put some weight on and I worked hard to loose a few so don’t go up in size any more than I have. If I want dessert I eat a little less.
well hi there 👋🏽, loved that Goulash Recipe idea, great Content, great Presentation, Gave it a big thumbs up 👍🏻, thanks so much for Sharing this Recipe with Us.♥️
This looks fabulous Tammy. I made something very similar two nights ago in the crockpot and served over wide egg noodles. I have a recipe for you that u might like. Will email it to you. Love ya!!!💕💕💕
Liked and subscribed. That looks dee-lish. As a Ukrainian I can say that the dish would need mushrooms to classify as a stroganoff, as well as beef stock/broth. The broccoli on the side is a nice add on. The sky's the limit.
Sending Prayers for you both and You have been amazing cooking for you and Tammy and Hoping you can get through this easy enough and Tammy recovers fast . God Bless and take care.
Upon seeing some of your videos I like how you keep your hair up instead of letting it hang over your shoulders while cooking. I can't even watch a cooking video when the cook can't even take the time to pull their hair back into a ponytail. Thank you.
Tammy sounds delicious. Have you tried the Better than Bullion it comes in beef chicken ham and roasted garlic as well as vegetable flavor. You can get large jars at Sam's
Honey...I'm watching this again. I love watching you in the kitchen cooking and talking.
I will try the liners..Bye Lizzie

Good to know!
I tried it twice this week, both times came out wonderful! My mom and I are from the middle of New York State but we love your southern recipes! ❤️
Glad you tried it
I’m from Syracuse, this is very close to my family’s recipe. No dill, the garlic is minced and we use Venison steak/stew meat.
I love y’all!!! Such good, positive people!!
My Ukrainian Grandmother would make this and serve it over mashed potatoes… I never did get her recipe so thank you thank you thank you! I can’t wait to make this… it’s gonna be like a hug from my Baba!
