- Don’t wanna put your shoes on? We’re here to talk about the perfect answer to keeping your toes wiggling all summer long! Okay maybe you still have to put them on, but Espadrilles really do feel nice and comfy when that mercury starts to rise! This week we’re takin’ a trip to northern Spain where they been making Espadrilles by hand for over six hundred years. They really figured out how to cover your feet with the most natural, minimal, and most timelessly stylish footwear around! Yves Saint Laurent made ‘em shine in the 1970’s. We’ll look at today’s luxury fashion brands doing their own versions - from Hermes, Cuchinelli. Tom Ford and all three way down to H&M. We see Ralph Lauren’s personal mission to make sure that we all know that espadrilles can be worn with your entire spring wardrobe. And finally, we’ll take a look at some outfits and lewks that prove these babies can do no wrong - and your feet will never feel better!

I was at a film festival, a mid-50s French movie comes on and in it, this gas station attendant comes on dressed head to toe in a very 50s American greaser outfit - rolled up wide leg denim and work jacket with turned up collar except, he's wearing espadrilles! That contrast of the wide rugged upper and the almost dainty footware just hits.
It's a look I've replicated on occasion and just love.

But I can totally see what you mean - they have such a look of nonchalance that not a lot of other shoes can’t really convey just by the sight of them. There are espadrilles with punched holes, for even more breathability, from Castaner- pablo fierce model. They are from suede leather, so probably can last more than one season. Anything than canvas or punched leather... it beats the purpose of highly breathable shoe, therefore avoid in any type of leather etc, unless its punched. Because then might as well go with the loafer. The way i look at it, its morning and day shoe for max comfort and breathability, and then an unlined suede loafer for evening.
edit: i always start commenting within few mins of watching, and bang at 9:09 is the model im talking about. Right now they running on sale for like 80 euros instead of 130, on their home website.
