Man that's awesome, I don't think you can find anything with that flat surface like the original that would give you that erratic side to side action, but that's about as close you can get to the real thing and it should be very similar to the sound. I gonna have to build me one. When they first put that teaser video out I really felt like they should of won best in show at I cast with it. There is literally nothing like it on the market.

Glad the drone still works. Never heard of the Hellraiser. Looks interesting. Wish you would have caught a bass during your test. Since it swims at the top, maybe using it in low light would have worked better?

If you have the tools to do it I would try making the body out of some balsa wood. It would be very buoyant and you could get the nose flat.

I wouldn't do it now that the actual Hellraizer is available, I would just buy the real deal instead. Did this just as a way to try it out prior to it being released, action actually turned out pretty close to the real one surprisingly! Appreciate you watching and commenting!

Hey Matt good thinking. I recently learned of the Hellraizer but once I saw the price in Canada (about $20.00) I figured it probably wasn’t worth the price for the return. To my way of thinking, right or wrong, the idea behind the lure is to attract fish with a surface lure that makes noise and has vibration. Since there are so many other lures out there that create the same presentation it wasn’t worth spending the money. Did you figure out what your cost of components was to make your lure?
You could make it for about $10 if you subbed out the rage blade for the rage blade buster as it's a couple bucks cheaper, just a slightly different shape. When I did this originally it was just a way to try out the lure and see the approximate action firsthand since we were still about 6 months or so out from the release of it at that point, never really thought of it as a cost effective D.I.Y. back then, I guess it actually would be cheaper though after all!
