  • The Z-Man Hellraizer got the ULTIMATE test today! On this trip I head out kayak fishing the marshes of the Mobile Bay in search of redfish, but there's a twist... we get to test out the all new Hellraizer from Z-Man to see how the redfish respond to this lure. These results were surprising!

I love the hellraizer, use it mainly for largemouth bass here in central Florida..only bad things is,if grass gets on it,it don't work.and the chatter part will bend and break after a few huge bass.but here soon I'ma use it for some snook and reds at fort desoto

I put one size bigger hooks on mine. I have the bone white for bass so I added a red treble on the front. Hooks up a lot better and I miss fewer fish.

I agree with others here... it seems like that back hook is too small for the blade in front of it, either that or like one said, maybe let them take it down further?
I would definately want to add a longer shank hook, or single hook on the back.. I'm betting that would make for better retention when they're hooked. Notice the 2 you landed had the middle hook in them.. also I'm concerned about the long wire on the back. I plan to try one at my local lake for bass too.
BUT, if the blade brakes off i bet that would make a great spanish and king bait.

Off topic but yesterday I came across about a dozen tailin' black drums and couldn't get them to bite. Is there a lure that can trigger a bite or do you need live bait?

    • @southernsalt

The hook on the blade looks a little small and I think being on or so close to the weighted blade could be an issue. Also we all have days where it seem you just can't land them, I hooked 6 snook this morning and landed zero but there's always tomorrow. Great video

may be one of those baits where you have to give the fish just a second more than normal, like i know throwing a buzz bait for bass you gotta give the fish time to suck it in and turn, it may be one of those deals, but you also could of been losing them from the hooks bending too, they like that thing tho😂great video man
