- Our New Mercury 3.5 for our pond prowler 10.
The motor comes with a plastic propeller and we installed a metal prop, so speeds might be different with a plastic prop.
1 person top speed = 9 to 10 MPH (Unloaded)
2 person top speed 7 to 10 MPH (Unloaded)
I will update with speeds when the boat is loaded with fishing gear, thanks for watching everyone.
Highly Recommend this motor for a small boat/pond prowler.

Love mine if I am by myself it does good and planes out. If you have 2 people in the boat in plows and never planes out. You need a 6 horsepower if you have 2 people I found out after I bought the new 3.5 horse mercury. It is great for trolling though.

Same here, we have a newport vessels 55lb thrust aswell with an 80ah lithium battery, its very nice but its a bit slow. Good luck
The weight of the motor doesn’t throw the balance of the boat off? How heavy is that mercury? Getting this boat soon and I wanna make sure I don’t get a motor that’s too heavy for the boat

What is your trim position set at? If the number 1 hole is closest to the transom and the number 5 (or 6?) is the furthest from the transom?
@@markhumphries6020 its position 1 of 4, closest to transom.
Do you leave the outboard on the transom when storing, or do you take it off ? I heard people saying it causes flexing in the transom. Any thoughts ?

How's the flex on the transome with that motor?
It flexes a little on our boat, but not many problems happen because of it. Other than some ventilation.

Add a 2x6 across the stern & wedge in between... no flex

Just some metal one from online. From Ready Set Boat
What’s the top speed?
1 person with no gear is 10mph tops, 2 people with gear is 6mph
How fast was that? I have a similar setup and all i go is 4.97 mph via the fish finder. Yours looks a bit faster
It was just me, and it goes 10MPH on the GPS, with 2 people and fishing gear it goes 6mph
We also have a metal prop installed instead of the plastic one it comes with
