- The amazing story of the 1990 removal of several old steam locomotives from Dalat back to Switzerland. The footage of Vietnam, and the Dalat Train Station in particular, is amazing. (I don't own this video. If anybody has info on the original owners of the video pls contact me.)

This is a very enlightening video of Da Lat and of Viet Nam, a true view of what Viet Nam and Da Lat actually looks like that is much different than the publicity photographs. The sad thing is that these locomotives were being removed from their homes in Viet Nam, but the good thing is that they were travelling back to Europe where they were manufactured, to be restored into operating condition again! There was so much critical expertise in making these very sophisticated and expensive moves. A locomotive that has not been moved for two decades is not merely moved the way it is sitting after so much time, hence the trucks to carry them! Even track rails needed to be removed and relocated for this effort, just to load them onto the trucks for shipment! Viet Nam has lost yet more of its heritage, and yet, it is all for the best for the locomotives' sakes. This video was made for entirely necessary historical purposes and is very much appreciated.

It's like I have a wife. I don't know her beauty. While I was poor, I sold her at a very cheap price. A few years later, I met her again with a beautiful, splendid beauty like a queen. My heart unrelenting regret.
