@@SmackDab You're better off with the SNES version. I beat both games on the Arcade1UP and it's a pain to play through. In terms of comfort and controls, plus the boss fights are annoyingly long in the arcade version because it's designed to eat quarters like every other arcade game.

Also, I recall some bosses in the NES version were just as tedious (especially the Stone Warriors, General Tragg & Sargent Granitor) and frankly the levels are less tedious in the arcade version as the NES version goes overboard with the Foot Clan Soldiers so the levels are actually longer in the NES one.

And after beating the original TMNT on Arcade1UP, I realized that it's irrelevant and only fun for nostalgic purposes. Because Turtles in Time improved on the original and is superior in every way. Also I was referring to the elbow space and wonky response of the controls with Arcade1UP. There's significantly less room for your hands and forarms. Plus many others have complained about the loose joysticks and soft feeling buttons. There's even a bunch of TH-cam tutorials on how to replace them. So sure, my thumbs are more accustomed to a controller. But my points on why it's a waste of money and you're better off sticking with the SNES Turtles in Time still stands.

I own 4 of the 1Up Arcade Machine's myself . I bought Galaga first , followed by Pacman . And got Rampage before Christmas , then bought Marvel Super Heroes after the price drop in January . Love them all , hoping for Donkey Kong to come out some day . Great job on your review .
I don't care about not having a light-up marquee, or the theme song lyrics being redubbed, (if you need the original song that bad, just watch it on DVD) but at least that cornball classic "Pizza Power" and the original games are in tact. It even has the original "Winners don't do drugs" PSA.
What is ironic about this unit being one of Arcade1Up's first units to be in stereo is - the TMNT 1989 arcade cabinet from KONAMI actually had just one speaker. It was monophonic! Turtles in Time however was in stereo! This cabinet is the pinnacle of nostalgia for me! I would beg for quarters to play this thing.

Love mine. TMNT is still one of the bes arcade games around. One cool feature I found was the control panel T molding glows under my blue Monster lights giving it a cool arcade feel. This is number 5 in my collection of Arcade1up cabs. Space getting tight, but the four player cab may have helped with arranging the cabs in a way to get extras that come out. Great vids Eric.
If people are seriously complaining about the redubbing of things music, and they need to get some serious therapeutic help. The music sounds great I hear nothing wrong with it whatsoever.
I love my TMNT cabinet. I wish that the Turtles In Time would have had the Shredder battle where you have to throw the foot soldiers at him, and of course Bebop and Rocksteady instead of Tokka and Rahzar.
I took it's advice like a good boy. Besides, I hate needles, taking pills, and smoking so I just have a natural aversion to doing drugs. I don't even like taking legal ones.

You hold down the Raph player 4 button for 5 seconds and you skip levels. He didn't realize he was leaning on the button. He only skipped one level btw, arcade has less levels than SNES version.
It's really cool and I know one thing this is definitely an arcade cabinet you would want to buy at a local department store for the retail price pay it, because eBay that's where you want to avoid I seen this arcade cabinet going between $500 to $700.
My biggest complaint is the buttons. I want the happ suzo buttons with cherry microswitches but does anyone know if this will work on this cab? Also want to change the square gate to octagonal and put a 4 lb spring in each joystick. Are all these mods going compatible?
everyone talks about that theme song, but I'm a bigger fan of Pizza Power from the Coming out of your shells tour concert anyway. I would leave it on turtles in time for that. :)
Am I the only person in the world that noticed ( 15:40 ) Eric Discovering a skip level cheat with his elbows on the buttons with his back turned to the monitor. HE DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE... NO ONE DID... skips about 3 levels and boss fight at about the 15:40 minute mark

It looks really wobbly and unstable. I'm not sure if it'll be like that when four people are playing it or just when you rest your full body weight on the back corner.
Any word on a potential Costco special addition with light up marquee? (like they did with Mortal Kombat recently) I was not going to buy this one but saw 2 reviews already and now it is a MUST for me!

To point out on the Nickelodeon logo, since Konami no longer has the rights to their TMNT games and the fact they became what they’re infamous for now, Nickelodeon now owns the rights to the TMNT franchise. So, I don’t mind Nickelodeon’s logo slapped to it, especially how bad Konami has become and how bad they treat their own classics. But TBH, the TMNT 1987 theme intro redub bugs me a bit since I enjoyed how the intro plays on the original.
If you owned a restaurant or a bar-club bowling ally and put this in it and made it so it charges you $1 per 2 credit with a slot, I wonder how long it would take to make your money back on what it cost to buy? Would love some one to test doing that put it some where busy and how much it makes after a week-month and so on! 🤑
Is the cartoon voice overs in this one like the 1989 Arcade game was? I know for copy write reasons they cut the voices in the ps2 release of the game in the early 2000s.
I'll grab it when the hype dies. I'm game on it for $149.99 I just played this game with my gf on my street fighter arcade 1up modded cabinet tonight. After that experience I can wait for any of these unless they have unique control schemes like centipede or starwars. No hate just saying.

I envy you. I should've waited to get mine, because my Walmart has a ton of them still, meaning they'll price-cut it soon. (They offered "Final Fight" for $99! Kinda regret not getting that deal.)
The SNES version of Turtles in Time had more levels and tighter controls and ultimately was a better experience. Sure the animation had fewer frames and there was missing/replaced audio, but when Jesus comes back, He’s most likely going to get His groove on with the SNES cart. I mean, seriously, who wants to stand or sit at an upright kiosk to play their games, especially after spending all night hanging on a cross?
I had one of these and ended up selling it. Great looking cab and we'll made it just is too repetitive for me. The thing that made this great in the arcades was the fact you only had so many quarters. You could join an already started game and play until you ran out. With an unlimited play model it's just not the same. Played through it once and had no desire to do it again. I traded it in for a Golden Tee and couldn't be happier.
One was set up at my local Walmart and I played it for about an hour and 1/2, beating both TMNT and Turtles in Time. While I had fun, the joysticks felt too loose and the buttons weak. Making it harder to pull off jump kicks and other moves. I also realized how the original only has nostalgia going for it since the sequel is superior to it in every way. Just stick with the SNES version.
You get what you pay for....which is complete awesomeness 🍕everything a guy from the 80's playing this as a kid. Every man cave should have this Tmnt cab. If not then you prob didnot play this in its hayday or dislike turtles....what do you have against turtles🐢. Are you a Shredder sympathizer🔪😂
That whole song ruined that arcade one up I am just gonna use my mortal combat countercade and turn it into a modded computer and play everything it's not worth it to buy a high price arcade cabinet when u can buy a cheap one and mod it this is a waste of money in my opinion but it's pretty cool to show off I really think that's all you can get out of having like 5 of them it's just for the look and the nostalgia.

wolverine claws my memory in my old age is failing me. I could have sworn they were orange in the arcade. I’m not talking about the new ones you can still get that cost about 3.5k but the originals from ‘91. I stand corrected.
Mayo so many of the original cabinets were conversions from Gauntlet so the yellow makes sense. I’m talking dedicated cabinets. They still kept making them. So yes I guess my memory fails me. Or some operator put orange stick and buttons in the 7 eleven where I played it but I doubt it. Check out the other videos about other changes in Turtles in Time before you buy. Ratio is wrong as well, but at the price I guess you have to make sacrifices.

This is the only arcade 1 up I really want. The Theme song stil sounds GREAT even though it was changed.

You can throw them in the arcade too with that cool sprite-scaling effect, but they don't hit the screen and slide down like on SSB.

The SNES version of Turtles in Time had more levels and tighter controls and ultimately was a better experience. Sure the animation had fewer frames and there was missing/replaced audio, but when Jesus comes back, He’s most likely going to get His groove on with the SNES cart. I mean, seriously, who wants to stand or sit at an upright kiosk to play their games, especially after spending all night hanging on a cross?

I had one of these and ended up selling it. Great looking cab and we'll made it just is too repetitive for me. The thing that made this great in the arcades was the fact you only had so many quarters. You could join an already started game and play until you ran out. With an unlimited play model it's just not the same. Played through it once and had no desire to do it again. I traded it in for a Golden Tee and couldn't be happier.

One was set up at my local Walmart and I played it for about an hour and 1/2, beating both TMNT and Turtles in Time. While I had fun, the joysticks felt too loose and the buttons weak. Making it harder to pull off jump kicks and other moves. I also realized how the original only has nostalgia going for it since the sequel is superior to it in every way. Just stick with the SNES version.
You get what you pay for....which is complete awesomeness 🍕everything a guy from the 80's playing this as a kid. Every man cave should have this Tmnt cab. If not then you prob didnot play this in its hayday or dislike turtles....what do you have against turtles🐢. Are you a Shredder sympathizer🔪😂
That whole song ruined that arcade one up I am just gonna use my mortal combat countercade and turn it into a modded computer and play everything it's not worth it to buy a high price arcade cabinet when u can buy a cheap one and mod it this is a waste of money in my opinion but it's pretty cool to show off I really think that's all you can get out of having like 5 of them it's just for the look and the nostalgia.

Mayo so many of the original cabinets were conversions from Gauntlet so the yellow makes sense. I’m talking dedicated cabinets. They still kept making them. So yes I guess my memory fails me. Or some operator put orange stick and buttons in the 7 eleven where I played it but I doubt it. Check out the other videos about other changes in Turtles in Time before you buy. Ratio is wrong as well, but at the price I guess you have to make sacrifices.
